I thought you guys should see this. I found this really neat Internet browser called maxthon.
here's the link:
maxthon
It's really neat because it has a lot of the cool features found on browsers such as mozzilla but it overcomes the problem that a lot of sites don't work well with browsers other then internet explorer. Since maxthon is essentially just a heavily modified version of regular internet explorer, it can access all of the sites internet explorer can.
However, if you have a slow connection like dial-up I wouldn't suggest it because I found that it performs poorly if you have a slow connection. It also kinda slows down if the site your visiting has a lot of animated graphics on their webpages so I would still keep regular internet explorer for situations like that.
If someone has already posted about this then please feel free to delete this post.
My CD drive has been weirding out on me lately. I don't know if it's a hardware or a software problem. Basically, I put a disc in, the little orange light goes on, then...nothing. I go to My Computer and it says there's no disc in the drive. Sometimes it works if I put the disc in and out repeatedly for awile.

Ok, so I was going to check my email at hotmail and I got this "Alert":
| quote: |
| Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load the requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked. |
I've recently blocked a bunch of advertisement URL's through Zone Alarm, would this have anything to do with that message?
Ok, it's not Zone Alarm, I shut it down and tried going to my email and got the same message.
Nevermind, I got a "Server too busy" message, I guess that's the problem.

It sounds like the drive has internal problems and needs to be replaced. But just to be sure, check the connections between the drive and the IDE cable, and between the IDE cable and the motherboard.

It's definitely a server problem, since that error shows up when there's an infinite loop in the site's URL redirection.

Um. My internet connection is messed up. PCF seems to be the only thing that works for me. Nothing connects. I even tried going to google and the operation timed out. What is wrong?

Comcast has been having major DNS problems lately, meaning that you may have trouble reaching domains that you haven't visited recently. For a temporary fix to this problem, check out
this forum thread.

I was wondering how to get better quality from my Mini DV camcorder on to the computer... I have a IEEE 1396 (firewire cable)
Well...I managed to mostly fix my keyboard. But it still sticks a little, and some of the keys are messed up, and it beeps like hell when you turn it on. The CD drive was still on the fritz so I took it to Best Buy, they're sending it out for repair. If I'm lucky, my motherboard is toast and they'll give me a new one.

Okay, I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
Ever since I installed SP2 on my computer, the "My computer" selction from Start gives me nothing. I end up with an empty window. Not only that, it seems to lock up and I have to Task Manager out of it. I've come up with some work arounds to get to my other drives, but this bugs me. Any ideas?

It might be that one of you're drives arn't loading correctly.. if thats the case windows will just keep trying to read what the drive is or what's in the drive and that'll cause it to freeze

I was just about to post and say that I was guessing it was a comcast thing because my friend Jason has been having the same problem.
But the thing is. I'm reading the directions but I really don't wanna screw around with any of those settings.

Ok, I guess that, in order to not kick my computer repeatedly, I am going to need to get a bigger power supply. Because apparantly, 350W isn't enough for my 'high and mighty' graphics card...
So... How do I do it? Will any one I get fit in there, or is there some special slot I need to make sure I have? And I guess I need to make sure it has enough plugs for the CD drives and Fans, right? Because, I sure as hell don't need a repeat of "Wrong card! Take it back and get a new one!".
I do not know the differences between the ones I am looking at (which is all I am doing now because I need to know about it before I buy one).
So, what is the difference between the cheapest 500W one,
This and the most expensive one,
this?
I hope the difference isn't too great, because the prices sure are.

Look in the program that you use to transfer the video over and try altering any settings you see about resolution or compression. You could also try using a different video file format to see if it improves any.

If they don't replace your motherboard, try looking in the manual about the beeping. Some motherboards use various beeping patterns to alert you to the particular problem.

I agree, that sounds like the most likely cause. Try disconnecting any unnecessary network drives and removing any CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, Zip disks, flash drives, etc. before using My Computer.

Actually, you probably won't need to, since they're supposedly working on fixing the problem. But to prepare for if it happens again, something you could do in the meantime is save the IP addresses of some of the sites you visit so that you can bypass DNS without altering any settings on your computer. To do this, go to the command prompt and type:
nslookup domain.tld
where "domain.tld" is the site you want to look up. Keep track of the first IP you see, and if DNS goes down again, type
http:// and then the IP number, and in many cases, you will be able to visit the site (this doesn't work for sites using shared IPs, though). For example, you can visit Google by using the URL
http://216.239.39.99.

ATX power supplies should generally be universal, so you won't need to worry about getting an incompatible one as long as you have an ATX motherboard. As for the differences between the two, there's not much other than the brand and the features, so if you don't need the extras, the less expensive one would probably work for you. You might want to look for product reviews on it just in case, though.

Ok, I'll see if I got an ATX motherboard. If I do, than I'll look for product reviews like you said to see if I can get a good one.
Thank you for your help.

If I get a PDA with video playback would it be possible to put my big o episodes on a memory card and watch them on the PDA?
