Very typical of you, which is a good thing: avatars that reflect the user's personality are always among the best.
In my opinion, the image quality is severely lacking, however. The image seems too small: the background--though colorful--really seems to overwhelm the figure, and the entire image (particularly the starry strip) seems plagued with grain.
Though I like that the background is colorful, the colors do seem rather bland, which sort of takes away from its effectiveness. As I mentioned before, the background also seems to overwhelm the figure: it takes up too much of the avatar, I think. I do not think this is as much the fault of the background as it is the avatar's size, though: clearly these dimensions aren't very conducive to this avatar.
Still, it isn't terrible. As I mentioned before, the avatar does suit your personality (and user title), though it does have a few visual flaws I do think need to be addressed.

Nice, a Kaworu avatar! I really like the look of it, a black and white 'painting' look. Leaving in his red eyes is a cool touch too. 10/10

Your avatar fits you. Its a bit soft and dark...somewhat like this one strange ice cream cone I had once...But its alright. I like it because its soft on mine eyes. The only bad part is its clearly jaggy on certain areas. Other than that, its pretty good.

D-boy: It's hard to really see what is going on in your avatar, because of how pale the image is. It still looks like it could be an interesting picture. 7/10

Hmm...I'm not feelin the pose there..Don't see enough of your faces there (see your noses real good though). Perhaps "zooming out" a bit will do the trick

The pic enhancement tho is nice 5.8/10

Nice....but a tad too unclear. That is the steamball thing no? I like the pictureframe look and the border. It suits you.

I don't know where it's from, but I don't see anything wrong with the way the picture's set up. 8/10
The quality in my avatar can't be helped. I think this is the only version of this image in existence online. I think it was taken from an Entertainment News episode, this never actually happened on the show :_:
I'm still working on the image so any critiques would be much appreciated.

First, I like how there is not a single bit of whitespace in this avatar: generally, I do not have a preference either way, but I think it really fits this particular image. The colors used in the avatar are nice, but I also think they are a little dull...I think they can be brighter. The avatar as a whole does seem rather flat--I think the image could probably be sharpened, as well, though I'm sure some of the flatness is also because of the dullness of the color (as I indicated earlier).
Still, it is a very solid avatar overall. Clear, without
significant grain, which is always a plus. I personally like it quite a bit, I just think it needs to be improved.

Damn...I fiddled with some more images today, and came up with two decent avatars; once again, I am at a loss as to which to use. The problem is, each one has at least one flaw that I just cannot eliminate no matter how hard I try. Normally I dislike doing this, but I would certainly appreciate if someone could, at the very least, indicate which of these three avatars is least flawed (and most worth using):

I usually don't like pokemon but it still think looks good. The only thing wrong is that the editing on the image looks a little too obvious.

Not a bad avatar at all. There are a few problems, though. First, as was the case with IanC's avatar, the colors seem too bland. I think they can be a lot crisper than that.
The avatar is also rather grainy; the image quality isn't nearly as good as one would like, I think. Which is rather unfortunate, because I think it is an interesting avatar that can be a lot better than what it already is. Granted, it is certainly not terrible, but it is certainly not great. It is closer to an average avatar than anything else...

paul1290's Avatar:
The biggest problem with this avatar is the terrible image quality. The image is plagued by grain, which is never good: that alone makes this avatar less than stellar. The red background is interesting and goes well with the image, but every part of the avatar (in my opinion) is held back by the poor image quality.
Could be much better if the grain is removed. Otherwise, the avatar is (at best) average.

And the two individuals in my current avatar and the other two possible avatars I have posted above (and I still have not decided which of the three I ought to use...

) are Setsuna Mudou and Sara Mudou from Angel Sanctuary.
Great avatar Phoenix, i think you choose the best one of the 3
Just changed avatar again, to the TARDIS from Doctor Who, the latest series of which is ending tomorrow

Quite the sound avatar. The image is very clear, and the color palette works well with the image. The level of brightness is just right, allowing for a clear view without it being washed out. My only complaint is that, due to the angle of the shot, you can see the pixelation of all the edges in the image (around the windows, etc).

I am very unsure about this avatar. Finding a good shot of Lord Vader is very difficult, as most of the scenes he is in are very dark.

Awesome. Most awesome. The darkness works in quite well to add into the effect of his menacing armor. The border is a nice touch, contrasting with the rest of the picture (especiallly considering the nature of the character). I must say although evil, your old avatar was much more malevolent.
