This is the Official Nominee
Ballot for the Academy Anime Awards. Please try to give me a break and some
credit because with a lack of posted nominations, I had to do some major
research around the forums and some on the Internet to see what would be good
nominations for the categories. So, if there’s something you don’t like or
agree with, then tell it to someone who cares. Just playing because I’m someone
who really cares about this and about your suggestions and comments so if you
really have something to say or if you don’t agree with something or you have a
suggestion, then please let me know. Peace.
Ø
As you can probably see, Big
O and Cowboy Bebop both pull a “Titanic” here at the Anime Awards
since both series have the most nominations. Big O leads all the series
in the Anime Awards with a staggering 16 nominations and Cowboy Bebop
isn’t far behind with 15 nominations. So its pretty safe to say that the
majority of the awards might go to either a negotiator with strange eyebrows or
a green haired ol’ fashioned cowboy…
Ø
I had to give Inuyasha the
“Paul Giamatti” treatment and snub him out of the Best Male Character Category.
I tried to see what would appeal to the members of the forums the most and I
gave Vash (Trigun) the nod for the fourth spot in the category. I also
had to snub out Maes Hughes (FullMetal Alchemist) for Alucard (Hellsing)
because I thought the members would appeal to him even more. (Much love, Maes!)
Ø
As you can see, I gave all
three of the leading InuYasha female characters (Kagome, Sango, and Kikyo)
award nominations. I think Kagome is pretty self-explanatory since I believe that
she has definitely earned the nomination but when I looked at all three women,
I felt like I had to do what the Emmys did for Desperate Housewives.
Hear me out, the Emmys gave the three best actresses nominations for the show,
Hatcher, Cross, and Huffman (who won) and I put the two brands of women in
perceptive. Kagome = Teri Hatcher, Sango = Felicity Huffman, and Kikyo = Marcia
Cross. With this in mind, I gave both Kikyo and Sango nominations in the Best
Female Supporting Character category. Hell, it makes sense to me.
Ø
