*Crypt keeper sounding voice* Okay so halloween is near, Kiddies....*normal voice* okay not that near....Er...*back to Crypt keeper voice* but soon, it will be. What are the Members of PCF's favorite scary movies? HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!!!!!!!! *Cough* *Cough*
Okay so I have to go with the Ring. Yeah I know. Samara's less scary then Sadako. But hear me out. I was 13 when I first saw it. Samara creepped me out! And the way the people looked...and the way she looked....and the tape *Burr*. So I now come to not sleeping in my room for a week because I'm afrade of Creepy demon zombie girls to accualy liking the movie now that I have seen it a second time now that I'm older. I still have yet to see Ringu, Spiral, Ring 2, Ring 0, ETC.
I also like the orginal Tales from the crypt movie from the 60s. I don't know why but I like that one better then the show, even though the show did remake the stories in the movie. though the movies much better.
EDIT: Eep! I forgot the Shining how could I forget the Shining!?!?!? Well that's another one of my favorites.....
So what are your favorites.

Event Horizon scared the sh** out of me. I recently saw it again and said to myself, "How can Sam Neil be so scary?"
Greatest line in the movie:
"What happened to your eyes?"
"Where we're going, you don't need eyes to see..."
Scream!
It wasn't really scary, I thought it was funny....
Same with the first Friday the 13th movie. That was so hilariously bad.
I thought 28 Days Later was really good.

The Shining, "REDRUM!" Best.Movie.EVER!
Runner Ups:
Maximum Overdrive, giant 18-wheelres running bibles and bible salesmen over an a steamroller crushing a 10 year old kid. Doesn't get better then that!
Seven,(okay so its more of a thriller so kiss my ass!)I dare you t tell me that movie didn't creep you out

I'm going to watch Grudge, in the broad daylight, with all the windows open, holding a weapon.

Scary Movie. Nobody say that it isn't frightening, because it is.
I found it hilarious, but now, every time I go outside in the dark, I keep imagining the Scream guy leaping out and layin' some Matrix down on me.

LOL!
Alright, alright. As for me, I've never really found any movie to be particularly SCARY. Probably thanks to my rabid viewings of the Evil Dead movies (and a million other B-Movies). I just can't take the horror genre too seriously (games on the other hand...*puts in Silent Hill and locks the door*). But...
The House on Haunted Hill (the remake).
I think it was the only movie that ever succeeded in making my skin crawl. Those Dr. Vannacutt scenes... *shudder*
It was also very humorous and paid great homage to the late Vincent Price. I also loved Marilyn Manson’s, Sweet Dreams remake for the soundtrack. It was just a damn good movie!
Also...
The Evil Dead series: My absolute favorite horror series. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are my heroes... Must resist...urge to quote...
"Hail to the king, baby." Damn.
The Shining: Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrance was brilliant casting. One of the classics.
Dr. Giggles: Why I hate going to the doctor. O_o
It: ...Can't believe you guys forgot It! Tim Curry...as a killer clown! Truly horrifying. XD
But seriously, It was probably my childhood favorite. Another one of the classics that only seem to get better with time.

Hmmm well the movies that I think might be scary I always end up laughing at like the most recent one I saw was the Ring and all I did was laugh about it. But thats me for you. ^_~"

i saw the first Evil Dead on theater like 2 years ago for a special anniversary maybe (i don't remember exactly why they decided to show it on theater again)...some scenes were nice but it actually made me realize that a lot of bands sampled sound effects + quotes from the movie...funny...^^" (*sings along : we're gonna get you, we're gonna get you* ^o^)
the most scary stuff i watched though was the ending of Twin peaks season 1 and ending of season 2. However its not horror stuff, its still so damn creepy..."shivers"
a classic of horror that i even own on DVD is Zombie by Romero (cost me like 3 bucks o_o )....its a ...butchery....but rather well done ^^"
and Cemetary guy with Ruppert Everett , its probably the best zombie movie i've ever seen
*edit: oohhh and the Exorcist ! not really hardcore but it was sooooooooo creepy ! i loved it !
the old Twilight zone i liked too but i was really young ^^ (the Gremlins kinda scared me a bit too at that age lol)
and Tales from the crypt, some episodes were really good (the one called the last show is my favorite) i think i'm gonna buy some DVDs of the serie someday, but the cryptkeeper was definitely the coolest thing from the show ^^
but besides that, all the other movies i've seen (braindead, bad taste........) were so....so....such a waste of time !

Yeah, the Tingler is pretty pimpin', but I would reccomend the Exorcist that movie is a horror classic. Alot of my friends also like the Omen, but I haven't seen it yet.

That movie was pretty damn freaky, and I agree, the cover of "Sweet Dreams" was great. Probably the only Marilyn Manson song I actually like.
And though it doesn't really fit into the category of "horror," I thought "What Lies Beneath" was REALLY suspenseful. Kind of drags at parts, but overall I thought it was a great "thriller" movie.
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
| And I always thought that at the end where Michelle Pfeifer's character puts flowers on the grave of the girl instead of that of her husband was a really cool ending. |

The trailers make it look like it is extremely scary...I just saw one a few minutes ago (keep in mind it's 1AM) and it scared the crap outta me. I feel seriously creeped out right now...

You got to see it in theaters!?
You lucky son of a gun. I'd love to see it on the big screen at least once...wow, imagine how big Campbell's chin would seem then. Eat your heart out Leno.

Ring. It has Sadako. I like Sadako.

I don't normally like scary movies, because i just end up laughing at them in the end. But i really liked the ring, and mind you i watched this in my living room at 12 by myself. After i turned it off, i kinda expected the tv to turn back on...

I plan to see the japanese version soon.
I also plan to see the japanese version of the grudge. I expect it to be very good.
I liked the first final destination. It made my skin crawl for the first few minutes after the movie.
The Shining wasn't really scary, but Jack Nicholson was badass. I wish he were that type of character more often in movies.
And you guys can't forget the halloween movies. I only liked 1 and 2 though.
The exorcist is one of the movies at the top of my list.
As for 28 days later, it wasn't scary enough, not enough blood, too much talk. And yes, i do complain abotu movies that are vice versa. If it h as enough of both, i'll be happy.

"It" was a good movie, cant forget (ever) about Pennywise and his famous "beep beeps"
13 Ghosts was a pretty good movie as well...
For some reason, I classify 12 Monkeys as a "scary/freaky" movie...it always freaked me out to some degree, but I know its not necessarily considered a scary movie.

i'm going to say at the moment the re-done Dawn of the Dead. Movies don't really scare me to often since I was raised watching the Nightmare of Elm Street series, but the zombie people freak me out a little especially with the noises that they make. All that hissing and gurggling and such...*shudders*
