Hmm, face looks um...... odd/depressed? |
I know what Prime's thinking:
"(sigh)...Why did the humans paint flames on my body?"

More images of the Optimus Prime designs for the Transformers Movie have surfaced. While most of the images are the same as the ones we reported yesterday, there is a new set that shows a Work In Progress weapons syste. Again, it is explicitely stated that ALL of these Optimus Prime images are a Work In Progress, meaning they are likely not the final designs. See them Here.

Wish the images were slightly clearer. I mean you can make out who's who, but it'd be nice to have something clearer.
It looks like a bunch of toys, but that's still pretty cool.

I know that's the coloring for most resuce vehicles these days, but eh... I like the old white and red Ratchet.
Here's the thing I don't like: With the old Transformers, you could really tell what kind of car they were. What with Optimus having a truck for a chest, and most other guys having a bumper for pecs and such. Except for the wheels in his feet, and the licence plate on his crotch you can't tell that Bumblebee is supossed to be a car, let alone a superbadass new Camaro. Same goes with Optimus, he's only very vaguely a truck.

You know I'd have to agree with the following comment made by a TFW 2005 board member.

Actually, on second glance, this is one of the stupidest looking menu screens I've ever seen. It's obvious that most of these elements (the background, the objects, Prime, and the Autobot symbol) were cut and paste from some other source material - ie, this was NOT one cohesive piece of art.
It looks like bad fanart. Seriously. |

I don't know if anyone posted this before, but here's some concept art of Prime, Ratchet, and Megatron.

Hm.
Optimus looks alright, and you can tell he's a truck. Megatron looks better than that silvery version that was floating around, and while I can't tell for sure, the fact that his quads look like treads give me hope he'll be a tank. Ratchet... looks abysmal. Is he even an amulance anymore? He's got some red... but the yellow...

This Will Not Make an Appearance in the Transformers Movie
While it may not be big news to those of you that read the early draft of the Transformers Movie script, it's pretty much been confirmed by writer Roberto Orci what will NOT be in the Transformers Movie. Click here for spoilers to see what everyone is talking about.
Thanks to 2005 Boards Member Nevermore for the news. |
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
WTF, that's stupid. Even though the original cartoon stretched things, beings like the Transformers needed a larger vessel to transport themselves great distances. Even if they use something like the spacebridge, it's still......

Last Day of Shooting for the Transformers Movie
According to Don Murphy today is the last day of main shooting for the Transformers Movie:
Today is the last day of main unit shooting. In two hours we'll break for lunch. Then blow up more S#!% in downtown LA. Next week a reduced unit with very few actors will head to different cities and pick up some establishing shots. Then some of the team will head to the Frozen North. The film is basically done today boys and girls. And by done I mean filming. If ever there was a film that was really going to be made in post production, this is it. Much editing and many effects to go. How do I feel? There is a promo reel that has been put together for exhibitors and retailers that is mind boggling. There is a trailer being put together for later this year that should blow your mind. I'm feeling pretty good that we've made a film that you will like. Only time will tell.
