I hope they announce a marathon, or have one after the second half is aired.
And all in all, I want the box set. I believe the one pictured here (the one that looks like a book) will be the one we get. And I wantss the precioussss.
Oh, and does anyone think this should become the OFFICIAL ROD thread? ^_^
Post Addendum #1:
Just found out, that G4 will only be airing the first 7 of the remaining episodes of ROD the TV because Geneon has yet to complete dubbing the series. Something tells me they should have waited the 2 months to get the rest. As most are theorizing.
Post Addendum #2:
Just made a new avatar (again). I so love the pic I used. ^_^

I got the first volume with the book case, but now I'm seeing they'll be releasing an artbox and special figure with the LAST volume. I'll have to see a picture of it before I buckle and buy the artbox.
Dopn't know if I mentioned this earlier, but anime insider had a big guide for all Read or die anime and books, in chroniolgical order. Didn't read the guides too much (must resist spoilers), but what I did read made me want them. Someone has got to bring these things stateside. Del Rey would be the best choice for translating and distributing the mangas and novels. There was also some good pics scattered around the article.

Okay, I just saw Wednesday Night's episodes, and I got alot to say, so for the first time, I post almost an entire post in "SPOILERVISION(C)"!!!
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
Oh MY GOD. These two episodes caught me up VERY quick on what happened from the end of the I Jin mission and now.
It seems that Mr. Joker was waiting for the perfect time to unleash what I would like to call a master plan. All he needed was the perfect host for Mr. Gentleman's essence. From what I gather, Joker has intentions on pretty much unifying the world in a one world order, with either himself or Junior as it's head. One thing that amazed me is that the secret of the British Library was revealed. Mr. Gentleman is actually the puppetmaster behind the British Monarchy. With his intellect and sheer knowledge, he was the perfect advisor.
Thing is, I think Joker caught wind of his frailty and wanted to take advantage of his ability to transfer his knowledge into books. He knew by having Junior to be loyal to him, he would have the new Gentleman at his fingertips. He didn't count on one thing.
Agent Paper.
First, Joker made the mistake of revealing his plans to her. Then, he made the biggest mistake and showed her his trump card. Donny. Her lover. Held hostage as an ace in the hole to control Yomiko.
Problem is... He didn't calculate HER reaction. She destroyed the British Library, completely letting loose her power. Ever since, she's had one of Gentleman's books, and has been on the run. |
Holy crap... that's a good story, but wait, there's another revelation!!!
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
| It seems that Junior is the son of Nancy Makuhari's clone and Ikkyo, head of the I-Jin. Not to mention that in the second episode of the night, came into contact of the book in Yomiko's posession, and assimilated it's knowledge within. Revealing to the Paper Sisters, Drake, Nenene, and Nancy, what happened at the British Library. Not to mention it's revealed that the British Library had been accelerating Junior's growth. He's only 6, but has a body of a 12 year old, and the intellect and maturity of an adult! |
So, in summation:
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
| Joker's creating a new world order, Junior is to be the next Gentleman, Yomiko flipped out and blew up the British Library after Joker made the wrong move and decided to piss her off, and Junior is the son of Ikkyo and Nancy!!! |
Makes me wonder what I missed Monday and Tuesday. Curse these bloody midnight showings!!!

Well it looks like Joker found out the hard way that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Espically a woman with powers like Yomiko Readman.
One question, have the 3 paper sisters and Yomiko ever met face to face?

Both Hellsing and L/R are full of British accents. Strangely, they are dubbed by the same company as ROD the TV (New Gen Pictures)

Regarding Ms. Readman: Yomiko's accent can be explained. She probably hadn't spent a great legnth of time in Britain to pick up the accent untill after the british library incident. After all, she probably spent a couple of the 6 years on the run in Britain. She probably had some friends and allies that housed her and helped her keep a low profile. Afterward, she probably crossed the channel, and slowly made her way over to Japan. Probably by way of Russia, via a friend's boat. She's probably only recently been in Japan, but being there is being in friendly territory. With the Jinpocho group trying their darndest to keep neutral, but helping their best customer out when she's in a pinch. Yomiko has friends everywhere.
I do have to believe this series has hooked it's fans very easily. And those with Otaku tendancies... well, needless to say I'm gonna make every effort to get a coat like Yomiko's. ^_^
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
| Yes, Yomiko is now with the Paper Sisters. So right now the score is: The Fellowship of the Paper: 8, The British Library: Too many to count. |

Anger building...
I just finished watching THE LAST EPISODE of R.O.D. that G4 will be showing for a while... The bas-- jerks--
GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
::annoyed::

Crap... crap... CRAP! Just when I thought G4 would do something right... they cut the series at yet ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER!!! Why didn't they wait for the dub to be complete? There's 6 episodes left and we'll probably not see them untill late summer or fall at this rate.
Damn G4... They better be glad paper magic is fake, or I'd have some business with them tonight. With Index cards and notepads, 8 1/2 by 11's... Perhaps some adding machine ribbons...
Actually this raises a point... just what is Papermastery anyways? As we see in the series, the odd, paranormal powers that other "types" posess seem to have their abilities genetically ingrained. So this leads to the hypotheses that Papermastery may be more Genetic than trained?
Any thoughts?
So by 6 episodes left im guessing they stopped at the triple layered cliffhanger from hell?

*nods, with fists clenched and temper flaring*
You... understate my feelings right now. This is a series that has grabbed my attention like The Big O or G Gundam have in the past. I'm a damn junkie and the pusher is playing me.
The DVDs can't come out soon enough!!! Seriously considering not watching further untill I can get the DVDs, but I'm so hooked on the show now I NEED BY BLOODY FIX!!!!!
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
For those that wonder what the 3 Cliffhangers of Hell means, look at this. In SPOILERVISION(c)!
Level of Hell #1: Yomiko and Anita are left at the Readman residence as Mirrorman goes invisible and threatens to beat the living *bleep* out of the two. And get "The book of the Seeing Eye"?
Level of Hell #2: Has Junior really returned to the British Library's side? What will happen to the rest of the scoobies?
Level of Hell #3: The British Library is CLOSE to their goals. What is Mr. Joker's plan? Will he succeed?
DAMN YOU G4 FOR SCREWING WITH ME AND THE R.O.D FANS OF THE USA!!!!!
SHAME ON YOU! SHAME ON YOU! |

Well, I just discovered G4 has lied to the fans as well. They had said that Geneon wasn't finished with the dub...
B to the motha fruggin S.
I found the last volume (#6) at Sam Goody today.
You know, this brings up another interesting paradox.
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
| There are 6 books that the Gentleman had divided his essence into. There are 6 DVD volumes. The box set looks like one of the Gentleman's books. Coinkidink? Mmmmm Maybe... |
7 dvd volumes, 6 out so far.
Vol 6 has the best Pencil Board freebie though, a nice pic of Wendy thats not too fanservicy, unlike most of the other PBs.
No 6 is certainly a ride!!
Really do not read this unless you want to be spolied about the truth behind the Paper Sisters
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
The sisters are Genetically modified... They arent "real" paper masters!! Anita was a test tube baby made using Gentleman's DNA by the British Libary and the other 2 where random women off the street spliced with Gentleman's DNA by Doknsensha (hope thats spelt right)
How they met..... Was a dream. A fake memory
|
I am SO looking forward to the final volume!!
