Hah!
I did the same thing as a kid. Of course back in the day I pretended it was a light-sabre, and I taped it over a flashlight to provide the lighting effect. ^_^
But WOW. They say money goes a long way, but that takes the cake! ^O^

Hmm...I caught RoD on Saturday, dunno why I haven't posted here yet. I liked it a lot. Good characters, good music. Yomiko's too cute.

Though for a girl who loves books so much, her apartment is damn cluttered with them. *thinks of all the spines that could be damaged and pages torn leaving them like that. the horror, the horror!* While I don't have half as many books as Ms. Readman, I do make an effort to keep them semi-organized and in shelves. Anyhow, I liked it and I'll have to invest in it at some point.
Now it's time for BigPrime's Strange Anime Crossover moment: Mr. Joker would make a perfect match for Integral Hellsing. The British Empire would rise again under them...

It's kinda frightening, though, considering that Joker's OVA and TV VAs were Alucard and Enrico Maxwell, respectively...

That's a funny thought.
If Joker is to court her, however, he'd better not try flowers...

Is it just me, or does Joker have a sliver of a grade-A *beep*hole in him?
I mean, he just does what he wants practically, and doesn't consider others. Yeah, yeah, I know he has his orders, but still... Just give Yomiko her book to read. >_<

Well I caught the end of tonight's airing...very nice. Though at times I think they went a little overboard on the 3D effect in the background and didn't make the characters 3D enough. Yah I have no clue what I'm talking about -__-
...the music is actually quite good...better than just the synthesized stuff I might have expected in some other "new" series (I'm so used to electric guitars and synthesized crap in newer animes I've seen). I want to find the soundtrack to this.

Watching this again for the fourth time and I still like this a lot. Probably should watch the series one of these days.
Still love how Yomiko is always asking for her book back... LOL!

Okay, the peice they use most is "Ode to Joy". It's his Ninth Symphony, the fourth Movement AFAIK.
I do plan on writing up a FAQ that pretty much covers alot of the background of the series. It's far deeper than it looks. (Pun not intended...)
And, Cartoon Network... Please... Oh Please... DON'T OVERPLAY THIS!!! Twice in a 2 week period is excessive! (Though me burning out on this is... probably impossible.)

I just saw it for the first time last night, and I loved it. I thought it was really good, however I came in a little late, and started watching when they were fighting the glider king, so I missed the begginning. Can someone tell me how those people from the books came to life?

He's got serious shades of Gendo Ikari going on at points (even folds his hands in front of his face the same way). Kinda frightening, really, all he needs are the Mickey Mouse gloves and the glasses.
And, Ano Hito: Joker court Integra? This is Integral Helsing we're talking about. She'd court
him if she wanted to take him as a lover/husband.

I know, I know, but I wanted to put in the joke about the flowers.
I can just imagine Integra, "Will these blonde idiots ever stop shoving roses in my face?!"

Okay... Here's the Gist.
There is a genetic record of all the greatest Geniuses, Artists and Minds of the world, stored for posterity for future generations and to see just how they became so good.
Whoever was responsible for the I-Jin took genetic samples and cloned themselves an army of the best and brightest of History. Enhanced with some WHACKED OUT tech of course.

I rewached it again last night. But this time my dad wached it too. He kind of liked it. But he Said that it was 'okay'. I don't think he got it though. And my mom cought it at like the whole 'Suiside Symphony' part and my mom said that it was really really bloody...but that was the only part she saw since she was taking a nap.
My dad also said that Yomiko's ability to control paper was in another anime. I don't remember it, unless he was refering to Ryoga in Ranma using his bandana like that or Dandy from the Hellsing Manga throwing his cards around. Because he usualy ends up waching what I wach and I don't remember it really. And in those caces, none of them have the ability to control them they throw them and that's it. I mean sure Ryoga maybe since he can turn his bandana's stiff, but that was it.

Integra and Joker....Too funny!

I Googled it using the Image Search feature.
I just Typed in "Yomiko Readman", "Yomiko", or "Agent Paper" I believe.
What you need to do first though, is go into the preferences selections for google, and allow it to search English and Japanese sites. Also turn off the safe search. You might jump unto some grenades, but you'll also find some diamonds in the rough.

Well, I was wrong.
Alerting all papermasters!!!
Article available at: Aint it cool news
"New episodes of ROD The tv premier of G4-Video Game Television the week of April 4th at 1:00am ET in its Anime Unleashed block. 1-12, will re-air throughout the month.
A wildly popular anime series, “R.O.D. the TV” highlights the adventures of three young paper masters, Anita, Maggie and Michelle. Follow the three sisters from Hong Kong to Tokyo while they use their abilities to manipulate paper into wild weapons and magical objects to protect Nenene, the author, from a mad bomber."
Little do they know who's showing up. Yep, Yomiko plays a bigger part in the TV series' second half.
Watch... or DIE.
