I recently picked up Katatonia's new album. It's very good. I'm trying to broaden my music taste, so alittle Goth/Doom Metal is a good start.
I just picked up The Bronx's new self-titled. Basically kicks ass, and it was $8.

My last embarassing CD purchase was A Perfect Circle's Mer De Noms! I wanted Soundgarden but they weren't in stock..it was very silly of me!

Yestarday I picked up "Destroyer's Rubies" by Destroyer, and "Return to the 36 Chambers the Dirty Version" by none other than ODB.
Edit: Add "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot", and "And the Glass Handed Kites", by Wilco and Mew respectively.

chasing cars - Snow Patrol
I picked up Thrice's "Illusion of Safety" and Muse's "Absolution" recently. Both are amazing. Neither are very new but both definitely deserve a listen from anybody who can get their hands on 'em.
My sister's boyfriend gave me Protest the Hero's "Kezia" for my birthday a couple days ago and I'm amazed by these guys. I've never heard such skillful math that doesn't go completely overboard. Plus their bassist kicks major ass, rare in metal. Worth a listen from anybody who enjoys skillful metal with non-droning singing and some artful lyrics.

Awesome, another Rush fan.
I got my hands on Megadeth's The World Needs A Hero. Subpar. About the same level as So Far, So Good, So What!

"Magic Potion" by: The Black Keys. good stuff, that is. Highly reccomended.
Also- " Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain" by Pavement. The two-disc set is borderline orgasmic. True story.
