Pretty good stuff, been getting into rap recently, but only select artists whom I feel meet my criteria as good rap. And Del is most certainly that. |
I remember him. He did that hygene song that was in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and was also Russel in the Gorillaz. He is a good rapper (one of the few).

I didn't technically purchase them, but I got Electric Version by the New Pornographers, and Nevermind for my birthday.

The Electric Version is a wonderful CD. The first three tracks, "Loose Translation", and "All for Swining You around" are the best songs on the album.
I recently bought Ted Leo/RX's The Tyrrany of Distance

I recenty purchased Juanes " Mi Sangre" Juanes is an extremely respected colombian rocker. Even if you don't understand Spanish I believe people would enjoy his songs. I love this c.d!

I just bought Mass Romantic today. Awesome album, but not as good as the Electric Version. Listen to the title track.
I also got The Tyrrany of Distance by Ted Leo/RX and the re-release of At The Drive-In's "Relationship of Command", which is one of my favorite cds of all time.

I almost got a Ted Leo/RX album, but I didn't have enough money.

Whatever you do, don't pirate it. I stayed after one of his shows just so I could meet him (which my friend and I did). Turns out he's not a wealthy man at all, and could use all the record sales he can get. Whenever you get a chance, support him. However, if you get an album of his, get Hearts of Oak. If you already have Hearts of Oak, get the Tyrrany of Distance.
I have yet to get his first one, Tej Leo(?) and the Pharmacists.
You, my friend, have a good taste in music.

WOW! I didn't know this thread existed...shows how well I mod this forum. >.<
None the less, Wednesday I purchased The Last Samurai Original Motion Picture Score because I needed something else to max out my Circuit City Gift Card. I'll tell you one thing, I'm quite pleased I bought it. There's some lovely string parts (no viola in the orchestra though!), and there's some lovely stuff with Japanese instruments.
I've been listening to the soundtrack non-stop. I only wish now I bought the movie because I REALLY want to see that.
The last CD before that (this is how behind I am on purchasing stuff for ME) was The Village Original Score. I'm please with that one too. The string parts are the best.
I still want The Stepford Wives soundtrack...and I think I need to find some "normal" music aside from all my soundtracks. Half of my CD collection is sountracks.

I went to the video/music store yesterday (thanks to my kind C.A.!) and spent about $30 on CDs.
For Myself:
~Meat Loaf: Bat Out of Hell (YAY FOR "PARADISE BY THE DASHBOARD LIGHT!")
~Underworld Original Sound Score (this is JUST the music

You don't realize how happy I was).
For Mom:
~Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
~The Cure: The Cure (I'll probalby listen to it before I go home and let her have at it.)
Later,

Today I was finally able to find the Belle and Sebastian DVD "Fans Only". I had been looking for it for a couple months, and I had to borrow some money from one of my friends, but it is definitely worth it.

Lets See
Soilwork: A Predator's Portrait
Soilwork: Reroute To Remain
Soilwork: Natural Born Chaos
Soilwork is like one of my fave bands, I love the style of 80's metel riffs and hardcore vocals. I also like Del the funky homosapian, one of the few good rappers out there IMO.

'Bout a week ago I bought Kelly Clarkson's new CD 'Breakaway' Her styles really changed, as has the subject of most of her songs. I really feel in love with this CD.
I bought John Mayer's 'Heavier Things' that day too. The songs are okay, but I really love 'Daughters'

Smile - L'Arc~en~Ciel
I just picked it up today, seeing as how it came in from me ordering it last week. *Sigh*...I hate it when I get a CD and the case is really cracked and busted. But I made due. It's a really good album. The full Ready Steady Go is good too.... ^_^.
