Hero

Anyone seen it yet? It's a new (well, to us anyway. It's been out in China for 2 years) subtitled movie about a nameless hero (Jet Li, who I now forgive for "The One") who has killed three assassins who were after Emperor Qin (who is trying to unite China---mind you this takes place 3000 years ago). It's a lot like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but with less palm-tree fighting and more confusion. Very good story, great stuntwork, and awesome special effects (where else have you seen 1 billion arrows fly through the air?!). It was surprisingly not-bloody (not even anything like the end of CTHD), which I guess is sorta good and bad at the same time... Well, I won't spoil it. Just go see it. It'll help your reading skills, you screen zombies.

This movie was great the plot was great and so was the fighting I love the let li donny Yen fight.

The whole color responds to memory thing was really awesome, but the movie was not without its janky scenes... The yellow pedal scene and the lake scene being some of them...

But overall the movie was tight as all get out, nonwithstanding the fact that the coolest character was used once for about 10 minutes, and that alot of the fighting was sorta goofy... None of that really matters, becuase my eyes were so entertained by the pretty colors...

Big Money rates this movie 8/10.

I saw this movie subtitled two years ago...and again a year ago. Personally, I thought it was excellent...yes, some of the fight scenes were outlandish, but I must say I loved the village siege.

...did I mention the story was quite original? I liked the plot twists...particularly when the Emperor caught on; I didn't think he would so fast.

Going to see it this Friday...very much looking forward to it...looks very cool...cripes, anything with Jet Li rules, since well, Jet Li=rules=my hero. That guy is one bad mother...

I am not a big fan of martial arts movies, but I have heard mixed reviews of it, so I may see it for myself.

Of all the reviews, this is my favorite. (and I do not mean to say Hero sucks, I just found it funny)

I really liked the movie, I saw it with Big Money and we both enjoyed it alot.

Be wary, my friend. Its not a martial arts movie, its more of an epic drama story. There are battles and martial arts, but its no means all kung fu fighting. Just to let you know....

Incredible film!!! If you pay attention really closely there's all sorts of literary-style forshadowing and HUGE symbolism. It's not only a great visual movie with great fights, but extremely deep too.

Just saw this today. I really liked. Very beautiful scenes. Good story. Great twists.

I really liked how they used color in it. And I agree, the symbolism was very important. The names of the characters, etc.

Should watch it again soon. I think I probably missed a few things though.

Picked up the DVD about 2 weeks ago...DO NOT miss this thing...epic, grand, wonderfully exquisite in scale.

This movie had a fun factor of 4/10 for me... I didn't like it. The fighting wasn't exciting, there was no humor, no characters I actually cared about... just random drama and artsy-fartsy backgrounds.
