Yeah, I didn't mean confusing as in...well..I was able to follow it fine, it's just..when the doll began speaking, and the reporters voice started to just alter itself on the fly, it was a bit odd to say the least.

Also the Japanese stuff didn't throw me TOO much, there was usually some vague context...except for that last part, where the detective says he wants to go eat barbeque due to some newspaper article. That I couldn't make sense out of.

Oh I was just being general.

I'm assuming the reporter got what he wanted, and article in the paper.

Most likley someone else writing about how he got clobbered by a kid w/ a baseball bat.

My only problem so far is that the peopled who dubbed the anime seemed to forgot that WE DON'T READ JAPANESE.

So in scenes where she is browsing the forum or someone is reading a newspaper headline, I have to make my best guess based on context....

Yes. That would also be my biggest complaint. I felt like I was missing something by not being able to be the text ( I'm assuming it had some importance seeing as how they focus on them).

Otherwise this was a very freaky ( in a good way) anime. I'm still going to have to see another episode to really get into it. The kid with the bat sort of freaked me out. Tsukiko is an interesting choice as a main character, I LOVED that little dolly she has ( I can't remember the name...but I WANT one!). I'm also liking the young detective guy, I don't think they gave his name or maybe I missed it.

True...the only thing I could make out was the crying faces (T_T and ;_; ) and that some one made a skeleton or something....Though AS is notorious for not playing subtitles for written stuff because they seem to think, since it's dubbed we would figure it out. Like Gummibear, it felt like something was lost with out subtitles telling us what they said on the forums or what the news paper said. I mean first off something had to trigger the panic attack...

There was a real Maromi...though it came with the box set for anyone who wanted to know....:

But yes...it is a good show need to see another episode before I say else, though....because with anime like this, that really only grabs you a little bit and not much info is given away in the first episode you have to see more then one until you get really hooked on it.

I'm going to give it another chance but the first episode did nothing for me. Really didn't make me want to watch anymore of it. Just found it odd. I'll see what I think after the next one.

Well, tonights episode was really quite disturbing. We definatly saw that Little Slugger is a Paranioa Agent, as his actions lead Ichhi to insanity. I was actually hoping he would get beaten, and I never suspected his opponent would be. The ending really creeped me out with Icchi actually going fully insane (or at least thats what it appeared to be). I am really starting to like the series, and I can't wait to see the next episode.

I agree with all of that. Just imagine if your Hello Kitty doll could talk and walk around.
*shivers*
I saw the second episode last night. Ichi's cute! Big Grin just kidding. I like the art for this show and I am so glad my mom isn't here 'cuz then I would have never seen in becase my dad snores loud! Big Grin
That was sad how noone came to Yuichi's Birthday party...

omedetou!!!

The episode last night was diffenately less confusing than the first. A clearer portrait was painted albeit an odd painting. It's grabbing my attention...I wonder where the series is going to go! Cool
Sharpshooter005 06-05-2005 10:56 PM
Well I was KIND of right in my "media affecting public perception as an underlying subtext" thing. Since thats mentioned/demonstrated again in episode 2.
Bllue 06-06-2005 06:25 PM
What I don't really get is why that lady didn't remeber the lil' slugger kid's curly hair.... I would've rememberd that at least.....
Gato Gurl914 06-07-2005 08:33 AM
poor icchi....it wasn't his fault. and he ended up going nuts to boot.
Sephiroth 06-11-2005 11:29 PM
Wow, that was easily the craziest episode yet. I had no idea that Ichii's tutor was so troubled. This episode really reminded me of Perfect Blue, the whole mirror scene and the fight between the personalities of her mind seemed a lot like the ending of Perfect Blue, though far less violent. Its, interesting to see the effect Little Slugger is having on his victims. It seems as if he knows when people are troubled, though in this case it wasn't hard to tell. I can't bring myself to believe that he has been apprehended. I'm sure its just a fake.

I've always said severe blunt trauma to the head is a sure-fire remedy for any and all psychological problems. Sadly, the medical community refuses to share in this revelation.

And I still say the craziest episode was the first. Once I saw the apparent twin peaks reference, and the..talking doll or whatever was going on there, I figured it would only get more and more zany
