Let it get out of hand? Are you mad? Sacrificing a few people is a trival thing, the truth is what matters, only the truth.

HAL? as in 2000 a space oddysy? i dont see a resemblence, HAL was just a robot with orders from something

Let what get out of hand? The Truth~!
If you knew the truth, It would be a travesty for you to deny that knowledge to the masses.
Its people like you that keep society chained up with the other animals...

I think I figured out how/when Schwartzwalde might have been able to get into Big Duo and 'merge' with it. I still have no idea how his body got to the dessert later. Anyway, at the beginning of the second series we see Schwartzwalde in a tunnel underground (which is partiall flooded) with a type writer (I think he has a desk and stuff too.) Later Roger discovers a type writer in a similar tunnel, nearby where he fought the Archetype. This is almost definately where Schwartzwald was when we saw him. A short way along the tunnel Roger finds himself in a Paradigm facillity where Big Duo and Big Fau are being restored. The cockpit to Big Duo is entirely open, Schwartzwalde could have easilly waltzed in, hopped into the cockpit and downloaded a copy of himself into Big Duo (or something like that.) If he could have 'merged' as Rosewater did and then left (perhaps without his sanity) he could have gone to the desert. Or Angel could have been lying. Or maybe she was lied to. I was just thinking, wouldn't it be funny if "Allen" was actually Schwartzwalde? Insane, cybernated, and without a lot of his memories. If it weren't for the whole Schwartzwalde's body thing, and Allen being a foreigner, I'd have thought it possible. I find it funny, since they're polar opposites.

I think Schwarzy and Duo do share a bond, sort of like how Roger and O do. It seems that after Duo was busted up near the end of season 1, Duo tried to reach out to try and destrot the domes, just as Schwarzwald tried to do. (Maybe Duo doesn't like the domes, no good for flying)
Is the Archetype that Schwarzy found the core unit for Big Fau?

I don't think the Archetype was used for anything, in the Manga we see it with a bunch of other Megadeuses Paradigm kept, I believe it is subsequently stolen by the foreigners, but it hadn't been made into much other than just a skeleton. BTW, Big O looks like that underneath, there's an epp. where Norman's repairing it the "mask" or face plate is off and you see the inside. However, the Archetype only had three fingers (three fingers and one thumb) on its hands... so I guess that the archetype has the body, legs and head similar/identicle to the Bigs, but each has their own unique arms.

I think the Archetype isn't a skeleton as much as it was a beta-version.
They built the archetype, and used some of the same desing principles in building the Bigs. They share the same heads, and their overall build is similar, but I doubt the Bigs are armored Archetypes.

Yeah, it's only a skeleton in the sense that when a prototype of anything is built, there are no covers or anything on it because the first step is to get the machine working. Prettying it up and hiding all the workings is last.

I always thought of the Archetype as some sort of blank... that in a Megadeus factory (somewhere) it was built with the purpose of being armoured and becoming a Big. However, the presence of the arms kind of nullifies that idea... But whether it's a prototype or an incomplete model, what the hell is it doing under Paradigm City?! Was it made there? Did they have a Big Factory (not just a factory that is big, but a factory that makes Bigs) in Paradigm? I never thought they did, since in Roger's memories it seems like the Bigs are marching on Paradigm to destroy it. Weird.

cool. pretty good summary. must've taken some time and effort. that was really easy to read. a little bit of spoilers, but still good nevertheless. That guy... my favorite character too, since i am as curious as the cat that killed itself, not to mention he is like a mudraker to the highest degree.

Amen! I like Schwarzwald more than I like Beck--- and THAT is saying something! He's so awesome....if I was a Big O character I'd be him. I hope Angel lied and he's still around; I've never liked or trusted Angel anyway so I didn't believe her when she said he was dead.

I'd like to believe that Schwarzwald is still alive, but I have to think he's dead. I just watched Leviathan yesterday, and the big dragon Megadues comes barelling right at him. I don't think he survived that. I think his voice over towards the end of the season is supposed to be his letter to Roger, but I haven't seen those episodes in a while, so I don't really remember. But if they did bring him back, maybe he would be Mecha-Schwarzwald!!! Part crispy reporter, part robot monster, all truth-seeking psychopath. Huh? Huh? <_< >_> I'll go now.

well, thing is, schwarz is probably really cool, since he's a reporter who has a megadeus.
you know in movies when the reporter keeps getting snubbed and pushed... hehehe. not this one
