Alien VS. Predator

Alright, whoever wrote this spoiler paid no attention...

Okay, this is going to be a big SPOILER so stop reading if you dont want to know. First let me say that I'm a huge fan of Alien and Predator but I don't read the comics. That being said I was very disapointed in this movie and I'm sure most of you will be as well. The movie is only an hour and 15 minutes long (what a joke) and the first twenty minutes of that sets up why they go to the pyramid. They asbolutely don't build any of the characters. The story is so ridulous. For someone who's never read the comics (like most of the viewers in the general public will be)the story is just childlike. There are only 3 Predators and they get their **bleep** kicked as soon as they encounter the Aliens. Two of the Three Predators die in the first fight scene...yup....dead! The remaining Predator (scar face) I'm assuming because he makes scars on his face after he kills gets his **bleep** kicked the remaining part of the movie and is eventually impregnated by the aliens. Now to the Aliens...they look completely fake and computer generated. Unlike the older movies for some reason these guys look more humanesque than Alien. They're not very big...small and sleek. What I was really disapointed in was the facehuggers. Now they fly....right! And once on your face they impregnate you and ten minutes later there popping out of your chest. Silly! Everyone knows that you have a day or so before the Alien arrives. These things are on the face and the Alien is out in the same screen....The Queen is a joke. Apparently the Predators have kept her frozen for 100 years and shock her to revive her so she can lay eggs. How dumb is that? The Predators have no shoulder lasers at all in this movie. In fact they have to get them from the humans who inadvertantly found them. So it's more than 3/4 of the way throught the movie before Scar can even use his gun. They rush through why the Predators do this and how the humans are used as hosts for there hunt. The humans all die except one but you won't care because they haven't developed any of them. Lance the star of the movie is suppose to be the bad guy but he's just a dieing old fool that wants to go out in a bang. So sad. This movie wasn't scary, wasn't suspenseful and didn't make you think at all. In fact when it was suppose to be scary it was actually funny...that's not a good thing! Now for the end of the movie: Please don't read this unless you want to know!!!! The end is horrible and the director should never be able to work again after this! The Predators parents come to pick up the last dead remaining Predator Scar and bring them aboard their ship. Then they lay his body down and they show Scar laying there and an Alien pops out of his chest but the alien is a mix of predator and Alien as it has those funny teeth on the side of its face and the movie abrubtly ends. Apparently now they are treating the Alien babies as if it were like a regular baby and it now gets the characteristics of the host. Well why this time? Why no human qualities? Why because that is dumb and so is this movie. Now if you were a fan of Freddy vs Jason you will love this flick as you won't care about the stupid story. But if you were a fan of Alien, Aliens and Predators 1 and 2 then you will be VERY disapointed in this. Oh and the last remaing human is then left stranded over 2000 miles away from any hope of rescue in the Antartic....have a good day! So if I were to grade this it would be a D...but it could have been great if someone knew what they were frickin doing!

He complained about so many things being ambiguous when many of them were explained outright.

This guy must have not been paying attention AT ALL.

I thought it was a good movie.

Does it really matter who wins? When they get out of the temple, Batman, Superman, and Judge Dredd will be waiting... and both aliens and predators get beaten by them on a daily basis.

Also, if the AvP games have taught us anything, its that a human with a sniper rifle kills everything.

The Aliens and Preds would wipe out Batman and Judge Dredd pretty easily. Superman, since he's invincible, would be impossible to beat.

The movie was not bad, but I thought it was pretty lame at the end where the predator was helping the humans. I mean, they're supposed to be lean, mean, and ruthless killing machines who basically just hunt their prey and don't care about human lives, or anyone's lives for that matter. And all of a sudden one of them is helping her?? Doesn't quite make sense, but I realize they wanted to save the one human character left, so they made him help her agains the aliens. And even after they got out and thought the aliens were dead and he had no reason to need her anymore, did he kill off the human, like you would think he would? No. Did the human turn out useful in the end? Maybe, but the predator still ended up dead, so there was no real point.

You don't read enough comics

That would be so f'ing rad if on the DVD they have an extra ending were Sigourney Weaver and Arnold kill the Aliens and Predators

My friends took me to see it on friday, even though I didn't really want to. It wasn't that bad, i'm just kinda pissed that I had to pay to see it.

The first two predators were killed by one alien, even though it showed two predators killing thousands of aliens in the flashback.

But then again I never really had any real expectations for the movie anyways. It wasn,t very good, just very entertaining.

If Aliens win, we lose. If Predators win, we're okay... But I assure you, whoever wins, we lose! I thought there was some crappiness to it (Like the first face hugger having a matrix effect, for example), but overall it wasn't so bad. The alien armor the girl got was kinda cool (Even though the blood would burn her arms). Also, I'm not so sure if humans could have ever gotten onto Antarctica. My main complaint is that there wasn't enough of Predators hunting aliens. The hunting really didn't start until almost an hour in and the movie is just about an hour and a half. There was too much screwing around and unnecessary character development (Who cares about the Irish guy with 2 kids, he's just gonna die anyway) However, it wasn't awful. Actually, it was kinda cool if not just for the action and effects (CGI didn't seem abused). I just have the complaints listed above.

The Alien won, because it died last. But in all reality, the humans won this round. Did anyone notice that the Queen probably would be alive down there for a long time? Aliens can survive in space, which is very cold and extremely low pressure...

I say it was tie, and I didn't care about the whys and wherefores, I just wanted to see the Aliens and Predators kick each others ass!
