It's hard for me to let people do things for me. For most of my life, I've had to do things for myself. My family is very supportive of me but my parents raised me to be very independent. So sometimes I get a little weirded out when people try to help me out. I eventually get over it but at first, it always bugs me.

Heh, you know, I've come to the conclusion that this thread isn't so bad as along as it's not too personal, and something kind of came up in class that I'd like to bring up .

Though, as I've said, I like (some) cute things, I also have a very keen taste for the gritty, the dark, the macabre, and the grim. In books or any other form of entertainment, I HATE pointless fluff, and abhore clear-cut, "shiny" happy endings more than anything. *shivers*.

After my record of keeping clean and drug free for approx. over a month, I got really stoned a few nghts ago, devowered an entire bag of Hershey's Popables, and drank a liter of grapefruit juice.

The moral of the story:

Don't do drugs, kids.

My mother was a hairstylist, so I tried to cut my hair which led to me looking like a 5 year old boy for 9 months

Well, really the only secrets I have are dark and probably things that would completely change everyones opnion of me, but hey I'll share one anyway.

My father was a criminal. He robbed banks and as a side note he drowned kittens and puppies. My mother divorced him shortly after I was born after a series of court trials. I still had to go visit him every weekend though. While there, I was beaten, locked in closets, and shoved down stairs. I also got asthma from the amount of smoke I enhaled while down there. Eventually, after an extreme event that I really don't want to mention, the court stopped sending me down there, for which I am thankful.

Technically after the first incident someone should have done somthing... but hey thats our court system. Are you afraid that through heredity you may recieve some of your fathers more unpleasant traits?

And besides, you can overcome tendencies.

Oh and about depressed people, I get angry only becuase most of them have no real reason to be sad, and then after months of being sad they don't do anything to make the situation better. It realy doesn't depress me that much. It certainly did bother me when I was a little younger, and I am angry at my father for doing such things, but after a while I have just learned to live with it. Also, I am not at all worried about being like my father. I would never do anything like he has done.

According to your quote Sephiroth, I know exactly how you feel. Just remember our parents mistakes never mean we'll be just like them

My step dad was very abusive towards my mother and I and I never told anyone especially my father because I knew what he would of done. My stepdad broke my nose one day and I didn't know that my dad was going to make a surprise visit and well, you know what happened after that. I was in and out of court because they felt that my mom was an unfit mother and canceled all her parenting rights. Sadly she's stilll with him.Even though my mom was weak to his will not to say anything to anybody, I believe I wont end up like her. I've only seen my mother 6 times in the past 5 years.
