The Paradigm Confessional Thread

Well shoot. That is a pickle. I guess go with the oppertunities you get and trust your gut feelings and check said feelings aginst your sence of logic.
COHugh 04-07-2005 12:24 AM
spoiler (highlight to read):
Not that this is the advice thread or anything, but I say there's no harm in going out with either one of them. Get to know them better and see where it leads you. You're not "dating" either one at this point, so it can't hurt just to investigate both options. Now if they both begin thinking of you as a serious boyfriend, then you have a problem. However, you don't know if they're considering you as anything more than a friend at this point, so there's no use reading too much into this. Smile

And mine, I suppose:

spoiler (highlight to read):
I'm exhausted. I'm getting more than enough sleep, but I'm just worn out constantly. I probably need to look into modifying my diet or exercising more, but there's just no time. Oh Well

I don't think it's shameful. More of a symptom. A lot of my favorite people have felt compelled to do this at some time or other, usually in adolescence.

But it's a bad sign. It indicates that you're under strain you can't cope with well. It's something to discuss with your doctor, if you trust your doctor.

My confession...

spoiler (highlight to read):
My office is always a total mess, with tottering piles of paper threatening to engulf everything.

You should see my dorm. Cds everywhere on my side, and my roommate and his friend have clothes everywhere on his side

As for my confession...

spoiler (highlight to read):
12 friends and I are going to Canada for two nights for the sole purpose of drinking. I feel bad, in a way, for doing so, but then again, it's college, and I guess it's just an experience that I experience.
Captain Maw 04-07-2005 01:29 AM
spoiler (highlight to read):
Scott!!! omg! Canadian Beer!!! .. wait, what am i saying, i'm a minor. w/e, Scott, you should go, have fun. but don't drink too much and get drunk or w/e. intoxication or any other illness there or anywhere is a shark in the pool. just be responsible
angelcakes, nothing to be ashamed of. as long as your recovering that's a good sign.
ACT: for the mess, it's not messy, it's one giant, abstract statement!
COHugh: try taking Valerian, or a natural remedy before bed, it helps for some ppl to get good rest.

For some random reason I just want to be forgotten, but I don't. ITs a ratehr weird feeling I have been having recently and I don't know why. Like even in my dreams I'll pull out this erasuer and wipe myself out, and take people's memeories of me with myself as well.

I have a deep resentment towards my father that will likely lead me to kill him, as soon as I can cover all my tracks to prevent me serving 20 to Life.

spoiler (highlight to read):
I don't get any of the feelings that most people around here get. It might be because I'm atheist, but I never seem to fear the same things everyone else does, or get intimidated by the same things either. I did once see a psychiatrist, but that was because of my short temper (From my father, BTW), and that came out fine despite some rumors that I was mental, which have sadly continued to my current school

Well, done for now Embarrassed Sweatdrop

For the first one....
spoiler (highlight to read):
Join the club. I have a really deep hatred towards mine. Especially after he puts my mom thru hell. *points at half sisters*

To the second one....
spoiler (highlight to read):
The problem is not that your an atheist. Its that your an ass about things. Dont get me wrong, your a great guy(tnx for all the commentary) but its better if you try to put yourself in others peoples shoes. If you ever decide to give up atheism, a good book is "The Physics of Immortality". Oh...Its ok to be mental, alot of people think im that too.The short temper thing needs to be controlled. My catharsis is writing. Alot. Descriptivly.

ACT is right. You shouldn't be ashamed about that at all. It's not a good behavior, but it isn't some sort of character flaw.

spoiler (highlight to read):
BigOz is completely right. As an atheist, one of my pet peeves is people attributing certain attributes to atheism. Your problems are in no way related to atheism. If you weren't an atheist, I'm certain you'd still feel the same way about your father and still have your temper. I hope you overcome your problems, but blaming atheism won't solve anything, as atheism isn't the problem.

There really isn't a "i had a bad day and need to vent" thread so I guess I can put this here.

spoiler (highlight to read):
I had a BAD day. Went to the mall to meet a friend of mien who didn't show up. Drove around for a while. Bumped into a curb as I was turning, and it was LOUD for what didn't feel like much. So I pull into a parking space and hear a hissing noise. Flat. Bad one. Passenger-side rear. I tried changing it myself, but that damned wheel lock lugnut was stripped and I couldn't move it. I called AAA, they came in like 45 minutes and was able to finish it.
Captain Maw 04-07-2005 08:53 PM
dang, you should take a day off, you deserve it.

i just got really mad at reading a sappy love poem to my ex-girlfriend from her current boyfriend. i found myself saying "i bet if i could write poetry and stuff like that, i could get a girl" i caught myself thikning that, and saw what zola tells me about being too harsh on myself. poetry will nto get me a girlfriend. me calming the hell down will. i'm not unattractive, i'm somewhat good looking, i have a really good sense of humor, i'm the sweetest guy many will ever meet, and i know how to make a girl feel really loved. this was jsut petty jealousy, and me being slightly irritated that she still would liek a poem from him, after she had talked about leaving him. it's also an example of me constantly blaming myself, and my own insufficencies for everything that is ever wrong. Poetry will not help me, it is not somethign i should do, i jsut don;t have a poetic soul. I also have absolutely no sense of rythm. They somewhat coincide. I am far too mechanical. I can create some beautiful things though, and though i will never be able to write a girl some poetry, i'll always be able to tell her exactly how she is the most beautiful thing i know in existance, and i'll always be able to make her something that shows jsut how much i appreciate her. that's it, i'm done

man... in lieu of my recent math failures (although i got an 85 on the recent one, not too shabby) my mom has gotten me a math tutor. even though i objected and told her i've been attending TWO tutoring programs my school has to offer, she went behind me and did it anyways, she didn't even tell me, until now, when it's too late.... which, not only disrupts my schedule, majorly p.o.'s me to the fifth degree. gosh...

Time for a few confessions.

spoiler (highlight to read):
I confess that I haven't met with my psychologist in three weeks and, as a result, my current conundrums with my family have started to atrophy again, though not as terrible as two months ago. I was supposed to see another doctor this week who speacializes with my psychological dysfunction in particular, but due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, the meeting has now been postponed until May 23rd. Our original counselor was somewhat of a disappointment and thus we decided to try another; now it seems we will probably go back to the former for the time being.

I just hope that I can see someone again soon before something terrible happens again. I apologize to my friends here whom I assured I would seek counseling.

spoiler (highlight to read):
About an hour ago, I confessed everything about my relationship with Paradigm City Forums to my mother. To my bewilderment, she accepted it more leniently than I had originally anticipated. She has known about PCF for some time now, but until tonight she has not known the full extent.

I proceeded to elucidate my relationships with the site and it's many members. She was very disappointed about my being cryptic and, suffice to say, she was skeptical about many things; she questioned me one particular person if they are homosexual and if another has no social life, but I proved otherwise. She eventually conceded, but I'm glad that she understands now.

spoiler (highlight to read):
I sometimes question myself on what would occur if something mortal were to happen to a member here. What if someone died? How would people react? Would people be upset?
