I am losing faith for the [Paste number here] time. I am really sick of this agnostic feeling I get sometimes. I guess its a bizzare mood swing. I've seriously done some research and thought to myself that God left us here to fend for ourselves, and Satan is the god of earth (O.O). But alas, I will get back on track, as usual...I hope?

Many theologians would wholeheartedly support that notion. This is a common belief in many Protestant denominations.

I can help you! Just answer me these.

What kind of church do you go to?
How often?
Do you go alone?
Is your pastor any good? (Meaning, do the lessons move you, or bore you?)

I'm starting to experience minor doubts about my hair highlights because I feel uncomfortable when people compliment me extensively about it; most noteably family since they do so persistently every day and thus it becomes perturbing. I don't miss my brown hair, however. I suppose I just need to adjust to it some more. Oh Well

If people compliment you about it, that's a good thing! ^_^

spoiler (highlight to read):
After a long discussion I had with my girlfriend last night, I've noticed that I have conflicting opinions about politics. I'm somewhat schizophrenic (figuratively) when it comes to siding with a politcical party.

For a few years now, I've really looked towards the teachings of Marxism. I've read the Communist Manifesto over and over again (just like I do with all of my favorite texts) and wrote a bit on it here and there in a personal (paper) journal on it.

I like the idea of a classless society whose jobs are assigned by the government. Sort of a mix of Socialism and Communism. I think society would benefit from it greatly. However, we are not ready for it, so we will just have to stick with the failing system we have set up for us as it is.

Also, as told by others, my views seem to have evolved into that of an Anarchist at times. I've debated on the idea of living with the lack of a government with numerous people (it was even a topic for the NFL in my....sophmore year, I think, and I kicked ass), and found that we could quite possibly be better off without a government than the one we currently have. I'm not saying that our present government is opressive at all. I just don't like the way it's being run at all. There are so many problems in our country that could be fixed, yet the federal government doesn't do sh** about them. Essentially, they're there to make the rich get richer and f*** the poor over. I don't care for this one bit. Self government seems somewhat appealing to me. The massive entropy that could possibly follow it, however does not. Once again, I feel we're not ready for such a government (or lack there of). However, what is one 18 year old kid in college going to do about it?

So, essentially, I'm not a Communist, Marxist, Anarchist or Socialist. I'm just confused.

spoiler (highlight to read):
When it comes to religion, I don't care what you belive in. I respect it.

However, recently, I've found myself sympathizing with both the Jews and the Arabs fighting over the holy land. Why? Because I feel that both sides are both right and wrong in different ways. However, being born Jewish (but discovering the ideas of Atheism a few years ago), this is totally unheard of. If I told my father this, he'd practically kill me.

spoiler (highlight to read):
I hate people who copy other people, just trying to fit in. Essentially, these people are called posers. I've noticed that someone in my building has changed his entire appearance to mimic this person he started recently hanging out with. He's still a loser who sits and plays World Of Warcraft at his desk every day.

I make odd observations like this. As does my girlfriend.

spoiler (highlight to read):
I guess I'm very judgmental?

I've been ignoring some things recently. Let's just say this... I really need to get a new job. Today, my best friend gave me a much needed "kick to the head." I've been trying to motivate myself but I haven't been doing a good enough job at it. Trust me, I really needed it. Although I'm sure I'll need another one... unfortunately.

spoiler (highlight to read):
Sometimes I forget to tell my friends what's going on in my life. I'll tell them the good stuff but not the bad stuff. Since not a lot of good things have been going on, I haven't said much. I hate talking about depressing things.

spoiler (highlight to read):
Sometimes I think my best friend knows me better than I know myself. That's why I usually sit up and take notice when she gives me the hard truth about things. Luckily I know that she is only looking out for me and if she sees me not taking care of something, I want her to tell me. I may complain about it but deep down I know she's right.

On that note...
spoiler (highlight to read):
I'm not going to be around PCF for a little bit. I need to concentrate on finding a job, on a couple of small projects, and I should also be cleaning up my apartment. I'll still be on IM and IRC but I'm just not going to be very active on PCF.

I can be a horrible procrastinator sometimes so we'll see how long this lasts but I really should put some effort into not coming here and just taking care of my own stuff instead.

I guess the later isn't much of a confession but oh well. Stupid life. Always gets in the way. Wink

I am currently being a buffer against a group who are harrassing a dear friend of mine over the internet because she won't let them emotionally abuse her anymore.

However, they are getting some of us nervous by bandying around the words 'revenge', 'plans of destruction', and 'burning martyr' (my friend is very religious and that's how they attacked her).

Yes, they are sick f***s.

spoiler (highlight to read):
Well, following Marxism to its theoretical conclusion, their would be no government, so being Marxist and anarchist are not inherently contradictory. That aside, my advice would be to not sweat it so much about wedding yourself to labels. Your beliefs don't have to fit into a neat little category. I would say, just figure out what you believe and make up your own name for it. Tongue

That's my advice, at least.

Wait, stuffed or real?

There's actually nothing wrong with that. Lots of people have something that they want to cling close to at night. It gives you a sense of security. And it doesn't necessarily have to be a stuffed toy or blanket.

spoiler (highlight to read):
Some people have actually sucked their thumbs.
Avenir 04-05-2005 04:24 AM
I fail to see anything wrong with that, Cablesinside. As Fujiko mentioned, it's logical for people to desire something to just cling to at night or when one is depressed. Smile

spoiler (highlight to read):
I used to take solace in hugging my stuffed animals too, but alas peer pressure has forced me to place them into hiding. If I had my way, I would still have them out on my bed. Nowadays I hug the nonexistent life out of my pillows.

I still have my Bedtime Bear Carebear from when I was 2 on/near my bed. That bear has been with me all over the world! I once nearly died when I found out my mother washed him in a pillow case in the washing machine (I was afraid he'd drown Shocked ) - I would never, ever put him away in my closet! I still love that little bear dearly, even though his nose is coming off and he lost his shoes in Alberston's many many many years ago.

spoiler (highlight to read):
It really upsets me when people assume I'm a boy just because of my name. I'd change my name.....but when you've grown up being called one thing all your life, it's kinda hard to get used to someone calling you something different. And I've never been a fan of my middle name Dead

to those who commented about my dog, it is a real dog
half dacshund, half i dunno
she looks kind alike a kinda big dacshund with german shepherd hair
she's great though
i'm not ashamed about her or anything
some people shun people that let their dog sleep with them
but she jsut hops on in the bed

to token, the e in your name gives you away as a girl
if someone doesn;t catch on to that, they're complete idiots
in my experience, girls that have boys' names are really awesome
(doesn;t work the other way around)

i guess i need to confess somethign else for coming in here, saying stuff

spoiler (highlight to read):
i'm really hung up on a girl that i haven't been in a relationship with for 2 years. We still have contact, and we're still friends, and when we broke up, we were jsut goign to take a break (it was complicated, but we really meant it was temporary). It seems she has moved on though, and i'm not so certain anymore, but she's still the most lovely girl i've ever known. If i could find another girl i think i could be happy with, i would definitely jump on the opportunity, but all roads seem to lead nowhere (they'e always got boyfriends, or something like that)
