| You know, honestly, college pisses me off. Nobody actually cares about anyone else (At least nobody that I've met) Nobody ever says "Mike is a really nice guy, I want to be his friend" it's always "dude that guy drank a bottle of Jack in 30 seconds, I want to be his friend!" |
It could be worse.
He could be drinking one of those terrible "bacardi breeze" style drinks.
....I weep for society when I see those ads. Alcohol isn't supposed to taste like candy, and I blame the children for this one.

You know, those are the only things I actually like. Beer and hard stuff both taste like crap to me.

I never bothered with parties like that in college; they're too lame. The whole point of drinking at parties is to slow your brain down to the point where the incredible boredom seems fast-paced and exciting! It's a complete waste of time.
You're better off with get-togethers that require that everyone have at least a couple of functioning brain cells. I met Pygmalion at a Dungeons & Dragons game!
Yeah I agree with you. I don't remember much of yesterday...not because I was really messed up, because I wasn't, there just wasn't anything worth remembering. I probably could have just left without saying bye and nobody would have noticed, meh, I don't really care.

Last night, about 11 of us split 3 thirty packs of Keystone Light (that's a brand of beer for you noobs) in my friend S****'s room. I had about 9 or 10 (I have the alcohol tolerance of...umm...Brock Samson), but I also took my meds with it, whcih added some sort of hallucinagenic effect (which was freakin sweet for about an hour). I wasn't drunk, I just wasn't myself.
We all had fun. We listened to Flogging Molly and played drunken Halo on my friend S****'s tv. We sang really loudly to Bohemian Rhapsody. However, three RA's came in and busted us because we had 90 empty beer cans lying around the table and we were all really loud. I now may have to go to "Checkpoint", which is an 8 hour course that teaches me the negative effect of alcohol and drugs. However, it's going to cost me $90 and I don't really have to pay any attention to it. That's probobly going to be our punishment. S****, however, might have to go to some therapist and campus court. I feel really bad for him. He's a great kid.
Oh, and I don't know if they are notifying my parents. My dad would praise me (he...does stuff) but my mom thinks I can do no wrong and actually thought I was studying last night. |

Edit 2 (I fixed a minor sentence fragment during the first one
): I just spoke to my friend Tabor. We're gonna ignore this little thing just for tonight and go to a house party. It may seem that I have no common sense whatsoever (I do), but...eh....f*** it... |

While I know this is the confessional thread and not the advice thread, I really think you should ease up on this partying. Even though it's not affecting your classes
yet, I would hope the fact that you got caught and are being sent to this class would be a wake-up call of sorts. I'm not trying to be mean or condescending, I'm just concerned

I actually do that, GAT.
When I show up to a party and people are acting dumb/doing stupid things, I slowly edge towards the door and disappear when no one's looking. Surprisingly, my absence has been noticed every time. ::shrugs::
As for what Spoony said, I'm told the same thing. Supposedly, my standards are too high for me to ever find someone as well. ::shrugs:: My first girlfriend was a major mistake because I didn't honestly have any feelings of love toward her. Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig mistake. Haven't made it twice.

Oh no! More advice from Token! (I should really learn to keep my mouth shut...) You shouldn't feel your standards are too high. Don't compromise what you want in a mate just to settle for someone - you'll never be happy that way. Just have patience (ah that eternal, terrible, word). When the right girl comes along, you're going to be happier than you could have ever imagined. Don't sell yourself short - I did that and wound up going through 3 years of hell.

Token girl, that is the best advice I have heard from anyone:
Never compromise your needs. The needs you have in a mate shouldn't be compromised. In doing so, you are guaranteed to be miserable.
But, there is something to be said about choosing your wants. Guys and gals, if you want a smart and funny mate, don't compromise it. But, if you are looking for one that physically reminds you of anime character or supermodel, that may not be realistic. So keep it real and you will be happy one day.
As for my confession (big one):

| Though it may be called premature for me to say this now, Beth is the girl I can see myself marrying to in the near future (not to near, but you know what I mean). |

Actually

Never compromise yourself
AND
No Ego Satisfactions |
It's from a great book called "The Art of Selfishness" by David Seabury. It was written back in the 30's, but the advice in it is still excellent because human nature hasn't changed a bit even if times have.
If you can get it at a second-hand store (it's out of print), it is well worth it!

Ohh!!!!!!
I've finally got another confession

)
*Clears throat* Ahem,
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
Nothing personal to all of those that find some enjoyment out of this thread - that's what we are all here for, anyway - but I do think that you people need to make the fine distinction between what classifies as an actually confession, and what is an irk involving a daily occurrence.
To confess is to disclose something that is inconvenient, damaging, or (if more positive) revealing about yourself, typically something that has had a profound effect on you or others in your life's history. Anything else should be added as just a side comment (OUT of spoiler tags), or be carried on in another thread. Some of these comments classify as "advice"; the rest, if you so desire, could go in a general "vent" thread, that can cover the topics such as "what this jerk did to me", or "what happened on my job today". Hell, if you guys want me to do that for you, just let me know via PM and I'll be happy to do it.
I don't like throwing my weight around. I don't like telling people how to post if they are not seriously breaking any forum rules. But I do not like repeating myself when I have made repeated polite requests. So please, if you heed nothing else, please heed this. |
Sorry if that rubs you the wrong way, but do believe that I and others who feel the same way have been patient. Thanks for the time

.
Oh, and uh, since I'm here, an actual confession (even though I do not really feel the need to, but I don't like just coming here in "Mod mode"

):
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
I hinted in a previous confession that I had a bit of a schizophrenic-like hereditary trait in my youth. Though it's gone, I do carry over two traits that I didn't have before it really kicked in around the age of 8
. One is that I have a tendency to talk to myself when I'm in private. The second one (and that one that actually bugs me) is a nervous habit to bite and essentially mutilate the skin around my nails - also in private, and sometimes to the point of causing bleeding.
*shrug* Well, it hasn't hurt me in the social department at all (friends as well as ladies), but I worry about infection with that last one
. |
Peace

| I talk to myself when I'm alone too... Sometimes I wonder if I'm crazy but I don't really think about it too much. |
|
I don't think so. I think lots of people do it, they might no even realize it sometimes! I feel that that is normal.

I think its..when you begin hearing responses that theres a problem.
Or you pull a Raskalnikov (yes, too much dostoyevsky) and begin delivering rambling soliloquies in public.
