The question is... Should I strive to make it more fair even though I prolly won't change anything?

When something is truly wrong, you should fight it. I'm not going to "get over" the fact that there are too many ignorant, uncompassionate people out there who do nothing to help their fellow man.

There are three things anyone can do; do good, do bad, or do nothing. Apathy is as terrible and destructive a force as evil is. Even though you are not risking yourself by not putting yourself in harm's way, that only means more pain for everyone else.

An example. Britian's appeasing of Nazi Germany before WWII broke out. That only gave Hitler even more time to build up power. And it all become a larger problem than it should have been.

If you don't agree with something then you should do everything you can to change it. I am in full support of that kind of attitude. Even if you think that it won't make a big difference you should still act out, because, although the problem might not be solved immediately, your actions bring it one step closer to the solution.

As for me, I think I'm going to figure out some way to get to Mars and conquer it (since it doesn't technically belong to anybody) and then start over from scratch there. Of course, I can't do this by myself so I would pick the smartest people on Earth (and probably some of my friends, who just might be included in that category) to help out.

Sorry to get off topic but..

spoiler (highlight to read):
I tend to find myself wishing I was my sister. Most of the time I feel like my mom loves her more, like I'm not good enough, becuase I'm not beautiful AND smart, unlike my sister who posseses both qualities, I'm just smart. I guess it's not good enough I have such big aspirations for my life.

Though I don't believe in God, only because I'm a touch person, I do pray sometimes, and I do believe that there is SOMETHING, wether it's God or not.

Nah! You are gonna be fine! Big Grin It is never too late to start! I'm rootin for ya!

And for my confession/world point-of-view:

spoiler (highlight to read):
I feel that, yes, the world is in a toilet (it is basically sh*t), and that i wish i could do something, anything (actually, take bush outta office), but according to law, i am not old enough. But i do believe that the problem should not be getting worse, that i believe people can stand up and do something to change the condition, and they need to. A person, no matter how old they are, cannot just move on with their lives and pretend everything's okay. They walk off and they expect to see everything as it was when they left, or better. But nobody's doing ANYTHING, so it gets worse! Mad Yes life sucks, but don't u think life should suck a lot less than at this point and time?
yes i've been watching too many history channel shows about the world going to end if the condition continues, and i'm starting to believe it. But it is only a premonition, which means we people are still able to prevent it.
Powerful people are using their powers negatively, being ignorant, putting more innocent lives on the line for their own materialistic needs, and the really pisses me off.

The answer is some kind of DEATH RAY.

The answer is always some kind of DEATH RAY.

I just like saying DEATH RAY, I'm sorry.

I think the answer for most of us can be found on a personal level. You may not be able to stop the powerful from using their power in a bad way on a global level..though voting helps. You can, however help people on a level closer to you. Can you help the family down the road that is having a hard time? Can you stop someone from trying to take their own life? Can you lend an ear? Can you volunteer for something that means something to you? What can you add to the world? Not, what can you get out of the world. A close friend of mine pointed out that though she was not financially rich, she had many friends and had helped lots of people. To her, this made her far richer than most. I've taken this to heart. The people I admire the most are the people who give with out the expectation of something in return. They do it because they can.

Alrighty then.........I guess I need a confession now don't I? Errrrrr....

spoiler (highlight to read):
Somewhere in the last 9 years, I lost all self confidence that I used to have. My goal is to build that back up, to do the things I need to do. It's part of my Master Plan.

Also....
spoiler (highlight to read):
Although I won't be holding my breath, I still have hope that the man I really love will find his way to me. I think he deserves every bit of love and attention that he is getting.

What she said.

spoiler (highlight to read):
I lost my self confidence in junior high. alot of small events that didn't affect me then, but then got to me in the end. It started somewhere with junior high boyfriends, and getting someone arrested and picked on.

spoiler (highlight to read):
I got her arrested because...okay, drugs and smoking are NOT cool, and she was a speed user. And, I got her expelled and alot of fights arose from it.
I'm so anti-drugs it's funny. I know what it means to get high, but I've never gotten high before...well, maybe on rock music, love, and drama.

spoiler (highlight to read):
I want love! Where's mine?! Oh wait...I'm 16. Teenagers don't fall in love. I hate it how parents think their the authority over our heart and thoughts. Besides...I've learned alot. Being in love is...one of 'those' feelings. One of those you just can't live without. Besides, it feels friggin good.

spoiler (highlight to read):
I'm one of the few who doesn't 'hook up' at a party every night, like some of my friends. I got a friend, I'll just call her...Allison...

Allison will go with me to parties and school events, and she doesn't fall in love...but she makes out, that usually leads to forgetting about me completely and going home to have sex with the guy. No emotional attachment, she probably wont see him again, she probably didn't even ask his name.

Sure, it feels right to them...but then they force it on me...I don't think I've talked to Allison since the end of my freshman year.

spoiler (highlight to read):
I just realized how much I hate your average high schooler.

....Okay thats just awesome.

Narcs are hot, somebody had to say it. And it might as well have been me, since I'm the one whos always raving about working for the government.

Then again, I also smoke like a mound of burning tires at times. So I'm not sure how much real impact any praise coming from me would have.

Um...whoops?

spoiler (highlight to read):
Sometimes I'm alot more optimistic than I should be. It's very brief though. I'd give you an example but...really, I don't believe in that kind of candor, since then it's just melodramatic b.s.
COHugh 09-17-2004 09:28 PM
spoiler (highlight to read):
I'm a Winston Churchill fan. The man was a genious. Here are some great quotes:

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent vice of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."

"The whole history of the world is summed up in the fact that, when nations are strong, they are not always just, and when they wish to be just, they are no longer strong."

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."

My most favorite quote:

"Show me a young Conservative and I'll show you someone with no heart. Show me an old Liberal and I'll show you someone with no brains."

And another confession, just for the kiddies:

spoiler (highlight to read):
I'm convinced that I'm a hideous freak of nature. I've been told by some not related biologically to me that I'm not, but there's no convincing me otherwise. Oh Well Yay self-esteem! Big Grin

im a complete bitch whose life is nothing but problems and drama. Sorry to dissappoint you Inspector. dont waste your time cause all im good for is depressing people and cooking and cleaning. besides, shelby told me im only fun when i've lost my glasses. otherwise im boring and depressing.

(I suppose I shouldn't say this while the forum awards are going on. Neutral )

[EDIT]
Five bucks says I just killed the thread.

Killed it? Nah... Mutual self-loathing is fun! Big Grin

Actually, I'm not as bad as I used to be... I still don't think highly of myself, but it was MUUUUUUUUUUUCH worse before. Once you get out of the whole "high screwl drama" stage of life, it improves significantly.
