What the Hell are you HUMANS thinking? Birds and other winged creatures only!

Manji 08-25-2003 04:43 PM
No, that would inspire more humans to be created... Big Grin

That whole Adam and Eve thing might've worked out had those fools not eaten the golden apples (It was an apple right= Fruit, whatever, I never read the bible Confused )

"I think, therefore I am. I am, therefore I struggle. I struggle, therefore I survive. I survive, therefore I fight. I fight, therefore I destroy. I destory, therefore I am human. I am human, therefore I think."

That, my dear friends, is the epitomy of the human race. A failed experiment of God or mother nature, which ever appeals to you the most. You cannot deny that humans have poisoned and destroyed this Earth. And in the name of what? Peace, stability, pleasure, learning, have what you will... If these were the human race's goals then they have not been achieved. And I doubt that they ever will.

As for my views on the only stable form of human society, I neglected to mention another fact. Ignorance, nothing could satisfy humans more than pleasure and ignorance. This is what Brave New World is about. I suggest that all of you read it. It is very eloquently written and is a satisfying story. Few humans ever seek stability or good for all. But don't let my views sway you if you don't want to believe. I have always had a low opinion of human morality and the race in general.

OH hey... someone should do that as a reality show...oh wait... that prbley has been done... its like! OH NO THE DUDE GOT EATEN BY A BEAR(a tropical...bear)!!! Then they get the guy who played fred flinstone(as fred) to join the island and then evenually.... they get the whole cast of giligans island killed and the people filming the survival all get stranded on it because giligan wreaked the boat... they eats each other.... and someone sues them...
Manji 08-25-2003 04:53 PM
Oh well, I see humans as the perfect creatures, in my mind war is our game, and thats what we excel at, I just hate technology....
The Fallen Phoenix 08-25-2003 04:56 PM
I enjoyed Brave New World...not my favorite book, but it was a good read.

However, living like they do in Brave New World just doesn't appeal to me...I'd rather keep things they are now than live in a false world of pleasure and ignorance.

But that's just my own warped opinion...taking pain over pleasure. Okay, okay, I'm guilty of not liking being left in the dark and being ignorant.

Though I do like the night, and the rain is soothing too. Big Grin

Humans have but one true goal in life...that is to fulfil their own arrogant, egotistical, selfish desires.

Very well put, Fallen Phoenix. But at no time did I ever say that we needed to live in a world like the one in a Brave New World. I just simplly stated that that would be only existance that most humans would be satisfied with.

But I do disagree with you on some levels. Most humans are inherently evil, selfish, egotistical monstrosities, but I do know a few who defy this. And I count myself lucky to know them, and be their friend.

I agree with you, true suffering is better than false pleasure by far. But true pleasure, as I believe, would be finding a meaning to your existance. I find none in mine, thus I suffer, but others have found a meaning to existance. Some day, I hope that all of you can find your meanings, or perhaps, we have already found it. Perhaps this is our reason for existing, to seek the truth, to find philosophy in our lifes. I do not comprehend my reasons...I doubt that I ever will understand my reasons. Existance only brings about suffering.

nothing more true...

id have to say... from teh way thinggs are going... america may end up like hitler country(NOT THE RACIST!) but wanting to control the world the way they see fit...

disney... they are coming...

i mean... look... they are tring to change other countries governments... the government has thier own little vison of how we make peace and what it is... they cencor what life really is about...
its not all singing and trying to do what you always wanted... its about making life not as sucky for yourself and ones close to you... and the occational person who wants to make your life hell(in a matter of typing)...

hitler COULD have taken the world if it wasnt for a certain disease he got... notice how he always holds his arm... he tried to rush his invation and he took medication... so thsoe factors clouded his judgement...

half of us in the boards here could have been either killed for rebelian...inslaved because of beliefs... or out in the mountains hiding from reality...

school shootings are alot more common now... the people things watch set high expactations for the world... but when they get a huge shock of reality... they just lose all hope... they take out the ones they hate most and sometimes commit suicide...

THEN, the poeple i hate most... the ones that judge prematurely... assume... or follow oppinions to "be in with the crowd dog." Most of them are jocks( people((most common to be bullies)) who do a good deal of sports)... I hate them... they all are little bastards that think that they are supior...
ok... anyways... poeple like them say they all were crazy. or "i knew he would go sometime"..."im glad he went to jail... he was a little punk"..."noone really cared for him...he had no firends"... and such... when often THEY were the ones who made thier life hell.... alot of americans are like that... like in g gundam with that american gundam...
god i hate them....

oh ehm.... dinners ready have to go.....ehm....
Lady Tesser 08-25-2003 05:13 PM
Ah, now we're getting somewhere! We have reached the truth -

Human beings are selfish creatures.

It was not in the name of peace or unity in which the earth is being destroyed, it is by hypocrasy - claiming those virtues so they would not be blamed for their messes, when in fact it is this selfishness that made the mess.

As I had said, the human race is still young - they have entered the age of a seven year old, learning there are consequences to actions, that they must be percise in how they catalogue things. They are still active (war and fighting) but they are learning there MAY be other ways in dealing with conflict.

They've got a few hundred million more years before the earth's sun goes red giant. There may be some progress before them. Man is imperfect, they are finally learning it, and the humility is hard to swallow.
The Fallen Phoenix 08-25-2003 05:18 PM
Heh...at this rate we might actually be 9 by the time that happens Tongue
I agree, The Big Omega...there are some humans who are not evil, selfish, or egotistical...

I myself try not to be, but I don't think I have done a good job of it...I place extremely high expectations on myself, and it is really hard for me to be pleased with what I've accomplished in life...

I know quite a few people who are happy with the way they are living...

And yet, there is always some flaw they can find...there is always something we find wrong within ourselves, no matter how insignificant.

And so I leave you to contemplate the Seventh Question as I go enjoy a dinner compliments of the Big Butler. Big Grin :

Are Humans inherently good by nature, or inherently evil by nature, and why? Take into account the Human race as a whole as well as individual circumstances. Big Grin
Schwarzwald 08-25-2003 05:21 PM
man... i do that way too often... well atleast iv learn a leason from doing that... never mention something that is evidence of there begining no god....(well...it way can prove... but look our lives and the way people live and turn out to be)

oh and lady tesser... is that... there was this person that hosted showing horror shows late at night a while back....is that her? its a funky(good or bad as how you want to inturpert it as) icon.
The Big Omega 08-25-2003 05:26 PM
The human race is inherrently evil by nature, it is the law of how things work. I do not fall to false platitudes by denying the evil within me. Though I believe that I have far more than my share of anger and hatred. I work to surpress it though. There are those inherrently good by nature though. They are what we should all strive to be. I can think of no example of a better human being than my dear friend Jennifer Wu, whom I consider to be the closest thing to a good human that can exist. I view her as the Earthly Incarnation of Goodness, what the human race should have been...not what it is...
Lady Tesser 08-25-2003 05:44 PM
(Yes, that's Crematia Mortem of Creature Feature from 1980's Kansas City - I grew up with her before I moved to Florida. Wanted to be her when I grew up: dress in black lingerie, a purple corset, and tell bad jokes. ^_^)

In the case of human beings being inherently good or evil, that's being a little unfair. You don't call a selfish child evil do you? You don't call a mentally unbalanced person evil because they can't control their impulses?

Evil is when someone is aware that what they're doing is wrong, and they don't care. That is what makes people like Adolph Hitler and Vladimir Dracul dangerous, is because they did what they did thinking they were doing good for their country. Yes, both justified the slaughtering of thousands/millions as doing good.

That is how you can have twenty nations going to war and each one claiming God is on their side -

they think they are doing good.

Those who know they are evil? Few and far between. Only in fiction has anyone claimed to be evil.

Even the Al'Qaida believe they are doing good by killing those unlike them. I'm not saying at all that they should be pardoned - my only wish is that the human race is able to face the truth about themselves without vanity or ego getting in the way.
Schwarzwald 08-25-2003 05:47 PM
schwarzwald could be an example of most people(except for that fact that he wants and is able to destroy the people in paradigm)

wait minute... etch that... THE PEOPLE OF PARADIGM!! The rich take life for granet the poor to the rich but the rich deny thier requests for they fear they will become poor...well atleast quite a few people...

but in school... ok the rich are jocks and the ones they call strange are like me and such... there of course is a middle ground... but they pick on and take from the poor... or just plain dont bother...

SChwarzwald/schwartzvald/schwartvalt/schwarzvalt... he is like... the villan that wants to clense the world of all bad... (ya know... there are a bunch of villans like that..Zera/Valmar from grandia 2)... just in the wrong way or wrong reason...

ENEMY IS ANOTHER BIG shows this well...
The Big Omega 08-25-2003 05:54 PM
The fact remains, they are inherently evil. God is merely an excuse, an excuse through which humans act their true selfs. If there is a God, then he has forsaken us long ago, and I cannot blame him. According to the bible, God created mankind in his own image. Look at his image now... Either he has chosen to watch this all play out, see if the humans can manage to save themselves, or he has just decided to allow us to destroy ourselves, knowing that it would be far more fitting than anything he could ever do. There is no way to save the human race from its inevitable fate...one day you will destroy yourselves. Whether it will be tomorrow or 100 years from now, it matters not. I will watch, observe the catasrophe, the appocalypse. They will fall to their false platitudes, such is the way. They will seek to blame others, but yet continue their violence. The destruction of the human race is assured.

ahh yes... ya know our rpg may turn out like this... and eventually im gonna get that into my serious fanfic collection....well unless you considar my last one as one...or my last post(i think) in the big o rpg thread...
Lady Tesser 08-25-2003 05:59 PM
Wanna make a bet, Big Omega? Androids and Goddesses should live long enough to see this play out. I have faith that the human race will pull itself out of the fire and be redeemed before they become extinct.
The Big Omega 08-25-2003 06:04 PM
Meggido is a tragic figure, he is the epitomy of a person wanting to do the ultimate right thing. He wants to purify the world. Cleanse it of all evil...Paradigm...the Domes...the people that care for no one else...sadly he is still trapped within the human cycle of deception, as anyone who will be able to read the thread will see. I pity him. it will be terrible moment for him when he realizes what truth is. "Omega is not the angel..." I am surprised though, that this thread has begun to relate to the RPG though. I mean the themes within it. Look at Angel and Isaac right now...no one knows what to make of it, but I'm sure that there are those of you who are developing your theories. Look at Roger and Dorothy, they show the truth in the nature of good humans. I am, for once, at a loss for words in order to describe how these two unrelated topics actually do relate, but I can see it happening. look at the thread. Draw your own conclusions.

Lady Tesser, I shall take you up on this bet. But if you are a godess I do have the condition that you do not interfear in human affairs. I will not either. Perhaps though, you should save some people, just in case I happen to be right. Maybe if those good humans, the ones who do not follow the others, repopulated this scarred planet there would be hope...
Schwarzwald 08-25-2003 06:11 PM
ok... here is my concllution...

roger smith defeats omega with curage and such caring for others who dont care for him...but his action arnt enogh to spare the memories of the people and roger smith loses him memory also... but this time survives... and not needing re-enacarnation(refer to my latest fanfic)
The streepsweepers(big o rpg) of god then takeaway all memory of the event... and time repeats itself... except for gordan rosewater... he dies... but then alex takes his exact place...remembering and planting the memories...

but the few immortals out there only forget temporaily(BUT ONLY THIS EVENT!!!NOT WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE BEFORE) and then get the memories back when "god agian falls asleep."

batta bing....and such... that was a nice 5 min ending...

Sorry, but that would just be a hopeful dream. The turth is far more sinister. The weapons will clash, with their ture powers released by the Nightingales. You must understand, an ending like that is too happy. Yet we digress from the point of this. You will all see, the truth of the human race. Their desires, their hopes, and their fears. Will they be saved, allowed to live, is the question...
Schwarzwald 08-25-2003 06:26 PM
bah forget them!! THE IMMORTALES WILL START A NEW RACE OF ROBOTS/CYBORGS AND MAKE THE PERFECT WORLD!!! THE IMMORTALES WILL BE THE ONLY TURE GODS!!

"THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE GOD!" said by zera/valmar in grandia 2

in grandia 2... the god that everyone prays to (granus) was dead for a long time with out knowing ... but valmar... the one who is considared evil... in the game is trying to be reencarnated.... zera gives his soul to him and gets his body and knowlegde at the end...(but there is a happy ending...he kills him... and humans live with no god...and for some reason everyone accepts it)

anyways... in our hero ryodo a mear human... finds that the god were orgonaly scientists(in a time of forgotten peace and happyness) ... and both were neither good nor bad just thier own ways... and they fought over things with creations they made...
but near the end of the war... they have become so powerful though thier creations...taht they became powerful to be considared gods...

the followers of valmar wanted to unmake the world (for a reason unknown... probley board from complete peace((NOTE THAT... THERE CAN NEVER BE PEACE AS PEOPLE DREAM IT TO BE!)))

lets see...

ill bring up something from another of one of my fav rpgs in a min..
