Schoolie, as far as I know, you're not missing much by not having TechTV(or over here, G4)
They're mostly about video games(see: promoting xbox) and, well, just mainly building comp faqs. From what I've seen they only have one anime show, which whenever I catch it, airs anime that I've never heard of. Oh yeah, it's called "Anime unleashed" I almost forgot. But maybe they've changed, I could be wrong. It would be good if they turn start airing things like gundam, etc. WB is okay...but they will obviously never air anything like Big O. As you know, they're all about age 13ish kids, so they show stuff like pokemon advanced, yu-gi, megaman, etc. It's also because, if you haven't noticed, a lot of american artists are following anime styles. Look at shows like "My life as a teenage robot" on Nickelodean, and even disney has some spy girls show which I've just seen commercials, but the way the characters are drawn reminds me of pokemon or something.
Oh btw, has anyone checked the AS boards about this news? I'm ready to create a joker account and just spam the hell out of their website to hopefully create a larger notice, and maybe start something. You know how them Inuyasha fans can be

If they think that Poverty Team Hunger Force and ****lab are what viewers have been watching AS for, then they're sorely mistaken...
Losing Big-O is a huge loss for those who've been faithful to AS, but threatening to take away all the other anime is an even bigger insult. The shows that put Adult-Swim on the map were anime. How can they forget that?

Now that other networks are showing anime, CN doesn't have the clout it used to. I can't see CN getting rid of all anime in the immediate future (upcoming GitS, Read or Die(
), etc.), but they seem to be looking elsewhere to fill their schedule (Miguzi instead of Toonami, changes to Adult Swim, etc.). |
I seem to agree with you. Before other companies starting showing anime, CN was the only one, and people started to like it. Eventually AS came, and that was what made other channels want to do their own block of anime. Now you have G4TechTV's Anime Unleashed (Lupin IV, it's still there, Banner of the Stars and something else is on now. Nothing has changed.), ADV's Anime Network, The FoxBox, Kids WB, and a lot more.
Big O is a great anime, and I don't know why CN would take something that good out.

This is the best news concerning Big O I have ever heard. If they did make a season 3 it would probably be worse than the second season and made with less quality than the first two. Besides there realy isnt a story line now. It would just be like watching a soap opera only with out the drama. If it was more like a prequil that explains the history then that wouldnt be as bad.

ppl at the AS forums said they had this discussion a little while ago and AS needs better ratings in general or they are gonna cut it down to only comedy (atleast thats what they said)
You've got to settle, dude.
It is NOT going to help to have people sending them nasty mails. Go on and sign up for the site, get the ranting out of your system and we have all kinds of stuff we're going to be doing that will be a LOT more effective.

In the words of Ozymandius, who is closest to the truth:
"Unimagination and stupidity are the same thing; but for diverse considerations have diverse names."
Grr. I'm SO joining this Save Big O campaign. Stupid, money grubbing, illigitamate sons of thrice deseased CAMELS!!!!
*Pulls on flak jacket and civil defense helmet. Stops tank right in front of AS HQ. Yells into bullhorn*
HELLO! SEND OUT OUR ANIME, OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES!!!!
Oh, and Johnny? We don't attack you for licking your shows. Don't attack us for liking ours.
Please do not send nasty e-mails to adult swim or Cartoon Network or post anti-Adult Swim or Cartoon Network posts on the Adult Swim message boards.
Yes, I know they've done a very sucky thing here but so far I don't think they've been nasty about it. Unless CN or AS say that they are never ever ever going to produce a third season and we all can just screw ourselves Cartoon Network is still our best friend in the world (last 10 words or so credited to ACT ^_^). There's nothing wrong with showing Cartoon Network our disappoint, in fact you probably should, but be polite about it.
When Farscape was cancelled by SciFi 3 years ago the fans rallyed together to show their support for their show. The Save Farscape campaign suceeded in large part because they were nice to all the right people while showing their support and they recognized early on what their enemy was. In Farscape's case their enemy was Bonnie Hammer, CEO (or President? I fotget which) of SciFi. In Big O's case our enemy is bad ratings. Yea, I know Mike Lazzo position sucks big time but he's doing this because he wants to keep his job (can hardly blame him for that). We need to show Cartoon Network that anime is still a viable commodity, namely by watching more anime.
It's hard to tell how much a network figures in DVD sales when determining how popular a program is but I think it's safe to say that buying Big O DVDs will help in some way. Hey, this is a fantastic opportunity, those of you who've been thinking about getting the DVDs because your 'helping the cause' -_^ How often are you given such a good excuse to buy stuff?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
First of all where is exactly did you hear this information, was it an email?
I'd like to see it.
Damn you adult swim, the fans where the ones that made them popular, they started out as just a couple bullsh** shows in the middle of the night. I always knew from the start CN was in it for the money.
I see this as a chance to get season 3 into the hands of people who will give it justice.

Big O, all anime to soon lose their place on AS?
It's time to go straight at the source of the problem. |
I think they locked that thread becuase they claim you are starting rumors.

Zola says that we shouldn't sink down to their level (or words to that effect). We want to get their attention (which we have) and then help them show how much we, the fans of Big O, can help them BUT THEY MUST KEEP THEIR ANIME!
...actually I understand this pretty much I'm just having trouble typing it out correctly

I've been to the AS website it is complete bullsh**.
There are thousands of little 12 year olds, anything with big o in the title is rammed with "batman sucks" spams.
Plus the mods delete stuff without warning all the time.
Son! Lose the intro, and I just joined your forums and there are WAY to many of them. Just my opinion.

Whatever happened to the rumors of Cartoon Network making an all-anime network? They're not going to do that either, huh?
Well, if they take away Gundam SEED, I'm gonna be VERY pissed.

*String of profanities*
GAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry. This just PISSES ME OFF! I'm going to rant here, but none the less.
This week:
Sunday: It was learning that CrossGen was no more and there will be no more Ruse, I was devasted until Tuesday.
Tuesday: Dexter (I'm sorry, he was named for Dexter's Lab, which my dad and I were enjoying at the time. He originally was named Mussy...what kind of name is that? So it was Dexter with 15 nicknames including "Bon Bon".

). Simple as that. You curious, look for my thread about cat health problems. I'm still devastated by this. Lossing your only real best friend in life is horrible. *Holds up shirt that says "My cat is my best friend."
Wednesday: The place I work is having money problems thanks to both the State and National Govt. and their wish to no longer support education.
Today: THIS! GRRRRR.
This is competely unfair. I mean, comedy and action are very hard to keep a balance of and people sometimes prefer action because they really don't need to think, but then, some times you do. I really enjoy Big O. It makes you think and visually, it was cool. Good fight scenes. I really enjoy well animated fight scenes. That's why I like Teen Titans, Batman, and Batman Beyond. CN was the first to expose me to Anime. They cannot take ANIME AWAY FROM US!
What a year 2004 is.
Yeah, CN does not want to hear about my week.
Later,
Pen1300
PS: Can we have a ReBoot petition too, for the few who enjoy it? I mean, they had that on Toonami at first and enjoyed it and they also funded a season 4 for us, then ripped us off by not showing a possible two episodes (only rumor though!) You know what...they have a nasty little habit of getting us what we want, then ripping us off. Twits.

This was when they showed Act 20 instead of 26. They were watching it, too! They aired the wrong episode, mocked it, and turned it off!
That's it, time to go knock some heads.
And let's retrieve that giant Big O they have before they break it in their drunken idiocy.

They will pay for this BIG time, calling this show sh$t, This show is going down like this, they are making a BIG mistake, would someone build their own megaduce and destory the williams street building and also take down Mr. Turner as well, Is bad enough that one by one I'm seeing my shows being erased from the T.V. now this is the only show that makes me countine to be pull in by the storyline. Alright Dark-0 IT's Showtime
