Where is Paradigm City?

That still leaves the question about all the strange huge machinery below the sea. As well as the stage above the stage, the grid. Of course this is all conjecture as big Venus wiped everything out and replaced it with the grid only to have it reconstructed, perhaps with ties to other places. (Electric City has people, can't there be other places too? Who did come up with the conclusion that Paradigm City is alone, that too can be a lie.)

In the episode Eyewitness, it can be seen that the killer android has a yankees hat on! The last evidence is shown! If you didnt notice the NY symbol, are ye daft? Thought I'd point it out

From time to time many scenes or clues give away the fact that Paradigm is NY. Also another clue that I figure out a while ago. To the owners of the season 2 sound track look at the street names. Those are actually street names and train stations that are in NY.

Finally, another NYC dweller. yeah. it has a resemblance to NYC. with the names: Hudson River, JFK Mark, etc.
I bet Manhatten becomes a giant dome, Riverdale becomes a dome, Forest Hill Gardens becomes a dome, and Jamaica Estates becomes a dome. am i missing any??? and Jackson Heights becomes a giant wasteland. so does everything above 96th street, north Bronx and parts of Bklyn. hahahah. Battery Park will become a dome!!!

you forget to mention the Park Ave side of Manhattan and Upper West Side becoming a dome. I bet you that Yankee Stadium becomes a dome as for Shea Stadium probably turn into a dessert or airplanes landing on it like JFK point

think about it, Queens, and the Bronx (- Riverdale), are some of the least desirable places to live in. haha, born in jackson heights queens, now i live in battery park. but if JFK airport is the desert, than what is up with the east river? is it gone? there is no river running through paradigm city. oh yeah, and New Jersey across the Hudson is probably the underwater parts of Paradigm, seeing how the landscape probably changed, New Jersey was sunken and the piers now form the fishing community.

Ok, we know that Paradigm is based on the big apple, but is it supposed to be it in the future? or what? also, lets see if anyone can come up with a map of Paradigm City and compare it to a map of New York City. Also, we should list the street names and landmarks that we spot in the Big O that are in New York City. anyone up for this? (Dark-O has actually cruised by Roger Smith's house uptown, but there's nothing of that semblance there)

As originally created by Zopwx2:
Presumably, Paradigm is a futuristic version of New York, after a great war which created many craters and sunk the island.

hahaha, it makes sense that the rich people live in Central Park/Midtown, while the poorer ones are uptown. and downtown. well, according to the map, i'm underwater, woohoo!

Yes I cruised the city in search of the Smith Mansion with no luck. From what I can tell ya Roger doesn't lived by the east side of Mahattan because that is occupied by The Cornell/NY Hosiptal. I presuming that Roger lives either on Cental or west side of Manhattan. Somebody here told that there is a old apple bank on the west side that could be it. From watching the eps I know Gelinda came from the Triboro Bridge area because she attack the upper east side dome just mintues away. R.D.'s location looks like the W 34 MTA train yard.

Dark-O and I were going to whip up some better NY photos with some more landmarks but unfortunately real life almost always takes precedence over anything that happens over the internet. |
Yeah, I was thinking about somebody making up a real detailed map of Paradigm. I'm not familiar at all with New York, so sadly I'm unable to accomplish this.

I would guess that Paradigm is a bit of old New York mixed in with the future-ish version and maybe also a bit of San Fransico (I swear one of the docks there looked sooo much like the one in Big O!) One day I'll get out to that city and see it again! ^_^""

Docks look pretty much the same anywhere.

Well, the docks could be the piers that line Manhatten, although according to the map, a lot of them are underwater, so maybe they constructed their own things.

Yeah, the docks in
Big O wouldn't exist in real life, as they are on the shore of the Underwater City.

Look closey at the photo they are piers on the lower west side of Paradigm, I believe those are pier 76 or something like that. Most of the piers are on the west side of Mahattan.

Man, why did Downtown have to get iced, i live there! whatever... i'm very surprised that Roosevelt Island is still there, also, nothing happened to the Bronx or Uptown. Also, New Jersey, and Queens/Bklyn are fine. So, basically downtown got hit by a humongous bomb, or a stage light, no, since the buildings are intact, so the terrain was leveled by something else...

mostly Long island is either under in sand or abandond like JFK airport. Part of NJ was shown in act 5,6. If look downtown you see how low the lower part of Manhattan is you know why its underwater all those skyscrapers makes the island looks small.

I mean the docks we see in Act 7. Those face directly into the Underwater City.
