Today I went down to Best Buy and made the following purchases:
Neon Genesis: Evangelion Director's Cut - Genesis Reborn
Ghost in the Shell: SAC Special Edition volume 1
Wolf's Rain Volume 2
I also stopped in at Electronics Boutique and bought Noir Volume 2, but they couldn't find the disc...so I got my money back.
Well last few that i have ordered (and am waiting for)

I just got Yu-Gi-Oh Volumes 5-6 (manga) the other day. I still need to get volumes 1-4. I'm going to stop at 7, since volumes 8 and beyond just deal with that godforsaken card game..

Escaflowne: The Movie
Trigun Maximum Vol. 1 and 2 - This is a very awesome manga. Probably my favorite!
What's the Escaflowne movie about? Can you watch it without watching the show?
Today I bought Evangelion manga vol 6. I'm slowly collecting these as I find them. They're incredibly hard to find. All I'm missing now is vol. 7. The only place I've been able to find these things on was animenation.com. They have great stuff but shipping's like 5 bucks, and since I live in florida they want to charge me sales tax. Highly annoying. So I'll just duck my head in a book store every so often to see if it shows up.
I also bought these little bean things. I think they're marketed as 'Mighty Beans'. They're a little cylindral stright bean shaped thing about the size of a horse pill with a little ball barring inside with character designs painted on the outside. The ball barring is just big enough so it doesn't have a lot of room to move in the bean, so when you hold it in your hand and move it around it goes in all sorts of odd directions.
I'm odd, so these things have been hypnotizing me for months every time I go to the grocery store and see them. They're about 7.99 for a pack of six, but today while buying a strawberry shortcake doll for a little girl I know I saw a little package of two of these with pokemon on them so I bought some. I got igglipuff and Azurill. They're lots of fun. I fear I might have thrown away two bucks but they're so amusing. They're more fun than I even thought they'd be. I don't know how kids are meant to play with these things (apparently they're at least respectably popular) but I just like to roll them around in my hands.
I may even get a couple more if I go to the mall tomorrow ^_^

I think my only problem with manga so far is that I've counted 3 separate versions of the EVA manga.
I apparently have the first version, flipped, and book-sized. :/
Pretear Volume 4 came in the post today.

Yeah you can watch it without watching the series. That's what I did! My friend told me that it was basically just the series in fast forward anyway.
Basically it's about this girl, Hitomi, who is tired of living and wishes that she would fade away. Well she does and then she ends up in this world called Gaea, a medieval-type place. Gaea has all sorts of problems and is filled with sorrow. The people there think Hitomi is the Wing Goddess and that her appearance will bring about the destruction of Gaea. She also gets involved with this guy Van who is battling the Black Dragon Clan because they destroyed his village. Escaflowne is a giant suit of armor which determines the final fate of Gaea.
That's the best I can do at describing it. It was a pretty good movie and the action scenes rocked. Also the music was awesome! But is Yoko Kanno really capable of anything else?
