Recent Anime Purchases

Didn't actually buy this...won it...from NewType.

GITS:SAC 2nd Gig Special Edition Vol 1. The box came a little scrunched but inside was the OST and the tin that contained the two disc ( DTS and Dolby Digital) .

My only complaint ( if you can complain when "free" is involved) is that the DTS disc was floating about and not secure. I do believe I see some divots and possibly finger smudges

Still, pretty cool considering it was the first time I had ever entered one of their contest.

this sucks i have less than 30 bucks; but i want the whole collection of big O ...........WEEP! i tryed playing jazz on the streets but people dont even look at me!!!!!!

Whew, need to catch up on some of my stuff. got Shura No Toki vol.3 and vol.2 of Otogi zoshi.

Once again, I have not actually had to buy anything to get these...

Battle Angel Alita manga...all 10 volumes, but old style Viz. Reads left to right and the book itself is a little larger.

All I did was search Craigslist for "manga" and it showed up. All I had to do was pick them up. So I guess I paid for gas.

For my birthday, I have recieved two volumes of Ray and Gankutsuo: The Count of Monte Cristo DVD plus art box. They're really great!

I picked up the Desendants of Darkness DVD boxset with a $50 gift card I got with the purchase of my MP3 player...as well as Blood: The Last Vampire as a Christams gift for a friend of mine. I also got her a Gunslinger Girl t-shirt ^_^ (So I didn't purchase them for myself...I still purchased them )

Today I got some more How to Draw Manga books there was a box set of three of them so I grabbed it. Iam hoping it can help me some more with my art.

Got the Big O RESPECT single as a birthday present. Haven't listened to it yet but I know it'll be good.

Big O Volume Two. I also ordered volume one, however, what I got instead was what appears to be a bootleg version of the entire series on DVD, which makes Ember a Sad Panda. Stupid Amazon.com. Blargh. Anyways, the actual volume one and the manga will be hopefully joining my collection shortly.

My friends gave me a Steamboy DVD, Berserk DVD, and Naruto volume 8. But today, I got my Zoro from Japan! He and Sanji are best friends already. See?



Sanji really likes Zoro's... bag.

Certainly not anime, but I picked up the Sin City special edition. Kicks ass, came with a free copy of the Hard Goodbye trade paperback. The extended versions of That Yellow Bastard, The Hard Goodbye, The Big Fat Kill, and The Customer Is Always Right Are real cool and can be watched separetly. A great buy, get it if your a Frank Miller fan.

*reads The Hard Goodbye for the tenth time*

Wolf's Rain Vol. 7....not really recent, I got it twards the begining of the month. Yeah, I'm one of the ones that got stuck with the Limited box so I have to buy the DVDs sepretly. Now only if I can get volumes 4-6 >_<....

I picked up Fullmetal Alchemist vol. 6 today at Bestbuy. I got it as an early Christmas present, becuase my family is like that.

Though I did not purchase it, I also found the entire FMA manga (so far) online. So, that kind of counts.

Since no one has posted, and I don't want to double post, I'll share my purchases in this post instead.

I picked up Rurouni Kenshin vol 19 and 20, and WOW, the Enishi arc is amazing. Plus, it has several homages (probably an accent in there somewhere) to other series.

1) the bomb that Gein puts in Iwanbo, has the Straw Hat Pirate Flag on it, probably because the creator of One Piece helped to create Rurouni Kenshin.

2) The mysterious 6th member of Enishi's team is obviously an homage to Venom from Spiderman. He has the EXACT same eyes and tongue, is totally black, and crawls around on cielings and trees.
