Oh, okay. That's perfectly understandable. Personally, I didn't have any problems with the old scale (granted, I wasn't crazy about Advanced Member, but I didn't think it was such a big deal, I just had an extra adjective and was throwing it around as an idea).

Speaking of ideas, I'll still keep this proposal as an option; if anyone wants to comment on it, feel free. I think this is the best of my three submissions, and I'd like to know how we can improve on it so we can hopefully have something up by the end of the night to replace those numbers.

Since star color can potentially be decided in a poll, I don't think we should worry about that yet. Furthermore, let's try and keep these ideas organized and not go running in different directions like was the case before...

I'm sorry Krang. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or criticize the member titles. I actually liked them. But I got too excited about the ideas that were being posted here. Again I'm sorry.

About those green stars. I recommend that they stand for the lowest number of posts. ie. a "green" member to the PC Forums. Just a logical thought, plus it flows naturally in the spectrum of colors, and is the same as a traffic light to boot.

I advocate a peaceful resolution to this matter.

And to stay on topic, because all of us were completed out of line earlier...I agree with FP's third option. The only suggestion I have (which I do not expeect 20 replies to) is that Divine come after Legendary.

Some people were complaining about the Forum Legends category. In fact, isn't that how this whole thing started? Anyways, it seems the complaint is that it is too easy to obtain the level of a Forum Legend.

My solution is that perhaps the word "Legend" should be replaced with something else, such as "Veteran". It seems to me that this would solve this problem and everyone will be happy.

Actually, we were able to get past that. Apparently, people were complaining about the member titles (New Member, Advanced Member, etc.), and we needed to come up with some new titles.

I proposed three opitions, and so far everyone who has commented on them haven't had too many complaints; evan suggests Legendary and Divine should be switched, which would be fine by me, in which case we have the following options:

Look at my first post, the REASON I made the thread!

I asked if we should have a rank after Legendary Member!! Nothing else. You guys decided to go off topic and get so damn carried away with yourselves...god... Now we have NO ranks...And Fallen Phoenix, he tried to get us back on topic or at least back to what Krang had replied but only Zola and I had listened. This is out of control and this topic should be locked.

I don't care if Krang has to start a thread for updates to this situation, I just want this to stop.

Wow it does seem to have been blown way out of proportion. Personally I was happy with the way things were.

No problem, don't take that comment personally. The problems with people criticizing those rank names started long before this thread, and even before Paradigm-City.com was started. I just want something that most people can agree on...

Actually, that's a great idea. If I change the silver star group to "Forum Veterans", it will eliminate the debate of who qualifies as a "legend" and who doesn't, and it also eliminates the confusion between that group and the former "Legendary Member" title.

That is temporary until the new ranking system is implemented.

Foreigner would be good for the n00bs. Android for 500, Tomato for 250, and I cant decide about the others. But I DO like the Big-O oriented rankings. then when we run out of Big-O stuff we'll call Mr.Webster.....

Director should be reserved for the Mods and all considering the position. Don't forget Paradigm Senetor.
Although I say stick to a rather standard theme of rank names, comeing up with that many Big O related ones and haveing them interact with each other would be too much trouble for what is needed.
Also I 3rd, or is it 4th the Veteran over Legend group name.

I was just trying to assemble a Big O-themed list, but I'm not quite sure it's going to be possible to get a logical list going. Here's my (poor) attempt:

I tried staying away from titles like Paradigm CEO, Paradigm President, and the like, becasue I felt they implied positions of power on the forums...

I know this list is horrible, but it's kind of hard to work with Big O terms. Personally, I prefer some of my earlier lists which were based on the old ranking scheme...I don't really like this list at all. However, if this is what most of the people want, fine. I certainly won't stand in the way.

And like I said umpteen times: though those black stars are my favorite, I am not implying that they will (or should) be the stars for these ranks; I think it'll be a lot easier if, after we decide on ranks, Krang sets up a poll with possible star choices and just have everyone vote...

No FP I love it. But the flashing stars will eventually get annoying.....
