Let us please stick with shiny black just so that we can have something and get it over with. It's shiny and black (Like Roger Smith's suit!)
For once I need to agreed with Seraphim. We have to pick something and get it over with...Shiny black it is.

I personaly like the "shiny Black" star...because if we had a green star it would look odd...or like christmas (Blue = ice Red & green=Christmas colors silver=snow, yellow = tree topper...)....eather way I would go with the "shiny Black" stars also.
Starting ranks = yellow
middle ranks = red
Last ranks = "shiny Black"
Staff= Green
Mods/admins= blue
ETC...

I can get behind the "shiny black" star as well.

I'll go with the Shiny Black star, however if people pick the 'lighter' black star I'll accept it too
The brown, purple, green, and orange look really out of place...no offense...but they would REALLY look out of place.

I thought so, too. I just posted them really just because I had them and maybe someone else would think they looked good.

If we end up going with the shiny black, lose the flashing effect. Make it a static (non flashing) star.
Although I seem to be in the minority I still say
go with the green star
at the bottom ranks then acending into yellow and red.
Keep the Forum Veterans and Mod/Staff stars as they are.

I'm all for the non-flashing blacks, wether it be light or dark.
And if maybe people are up to it, we could just change the color system to go: Yellow, Green, Red.

nah, I think we should leave the rest of it alone. It's simpler to change one thing that have to move all of them around.
Anyways, I'm all fer the Shiny Black or 'light' Black stars

For this illustrious purpose I am using a Sacagewaya coin.
Light black is heads.
Black is tails.
Negotiation Result: Tails - Black.

Well, basically it's either (light black) or (black). |
I don't think you quite understand what I mean. What I mean is take the shiny black animated gif, and cut out the flashy frames (specifically, the frame of the pure black star) to make it more appealing to the eyes. I like the idea of the black star, but I don't like the dark
or the light options that have been presented. Both of them are too dark and can easily fade into the background, whereas the shiny black star would not.
Another problem I have with the lighter shade of black is it's too solid and plain; I think it's very boring to look at.

....You know, if you were really insane about making it Big O themed you could possibly recruit some pixel artists to make small Big O character heads, and use those...
Just an odd suggestion I thought I'd throw out as it was done for an old MegaMan forum, only of course with MegaMan heads.
