Ill bet they are the type of people that sit around watching DBZ and when the episode ends they're all like "OMFGWTF!!!!!!111111oneoneone Whats gonna happen to Goku now!!!!1111oneoneone!"

They prolly think Inu-Yasha is one of the most important and pivotal shows of today. ¬¬

Well, every anime has their little cult followings. But I can't really find any good niche communities out there for Samurai Deeper Kyo...so...yeah. |
YAY, someone else who likes Kyo, I personally think it is better than Kenshin, but that is just me. Other anime that I think is underrated, Yu Yu Hakashu, RahXephon, Spriggan, Ikkitousen, Noir, Najic, Saiyuki.

I also think that Kikaider is underrated also, I really liked it when it was CN, and I really liked the music.

Wow. I know plenty of people who don't know about Big O, but I can't think of anyone who actually disparages it once they've watched it (well, I do know a person who knocks the opening theme, but he at least likes the show). Have these "friends" of yours actually seen all 26 episodes? Or even a single episode in full?
Ah, who really cares anyways. Anyone who disparages a show by saying it's for "babies and homosexuals" doesn't have an opinion worth caring about anyhow...
But I do agree, Big O is underrrated. Many will simply write it off as a giant robot show, thinking it's only for mecha-boys like myself when it's really far more than just another giant robot show.
Double-Zeta Gundam is also quite underrated. Yes, it has far too much humor for a Gundam series, but at least it's
good humor. And the ZZ Gundam just plain rules.

Texan I agree with you yeah I notice Full Metal Panic is underrated as well, I just purchased the first season, can't wait for the 2nd to be released, as well as the last volume of Saiyuki. I am really considering getting A Wind Called Amnesia, how is it.

Yes, Evan, I completely agree with you. People should give Lupin III the respect and love he deserves. Think about it this way, the anime/manga has been around for all these years, obviously it's good!
and I use to think that kiddie anime was well, childish, and then I got Di Gi Charat in my Newtype magazine, I love it

I have also seen Di Gi Charat as well through Newtype. At first, I thought it was annoying because they kept making cats sounds and what not after every sentence (yes, I know they're cats), but then I got used to it and was not as bad as I thought.

they say...myu, myo, & mya. Because they're all cats...and the three m's are sounds that a cat would make, with Japanese katakana translation though. Get it?

I just thought it sounded a little annoying at first. Not a deal at all when I later said that I got use to the sounds anyway.

what anime u people think is underrated and unpopular |

Unpopular: Pokemon. Because it had SOOOO many episodes shown in such a small time, I think it saturated the market and then just lost its value over a year or so. I still have lots of my cards, I mean hey, who would actually buy them now? |
Oops, I guess I'm an underrated of Lupin X.X well, if it comes on again, I'll try watching it again.
Pokemon, I still think Mewtwo rocks house, he's my favorite vid game character (SSBM), but I myself got tired of how Pokemon didn't seem to advance too much, and the characters didn't get any smarter, in my opinion. I have a nice binder full of cards, now useless. I heard that a new rule banned use of all cards in official games before the Rocket decks or something

that's like all of mine...
I more often than not see characters underrated, not anime. Though there isn't a large mass of anime fans in my school, if you were to put us all together, you'd find we probably know every anime in existance... Cept, I think people underrated I think it's Gundam Wing. Or maybe Mobile Suit Gundam. Whichever one is older, I hear bad things about. And I haven't seen a single episode.
Escaflowne's a little underrated. And you don't hear too much about Slayers anymore, either. Or Boogiepop Phantom.
Saber Marionette J and Mahou Tsukai Tai/Magic Users Club are SORELY underrated. And they're both so good. <3
Urusei Yatsura's another one of those manga that Viz just stopped releasing. I friggin' LOVE that series and am thrilled that they finally decided to release it on DVD. Best Takahashi series EVER. Don't even play, Inu-Yasha.

Iria: Zeiram the Animation - Based off of the live-action movie 'Zeram' starring Yoko Moriyama, the anime delves into Iria's background of how she became a hunter and the world she was raised on (and how Bob ended up being a computer and her partner). The artwork is superb and quite detailed, and the plot is intriguing. The only part that really stinks about it is the dubbing.
But still, I haven't heard anyone's opinion on it one way OR the other, it's just 'there'.
EDIT: PCT just reminded me of another dear favorite -
Robot Carnival.
Candy for the eyes, presented as the 'robot version of Fantasia', it is truly the MOST underrated anime of all time. The styles differ widely - from cyber-punk to organic - but all of the stories have something to be awed by. Most people that have seen it mostly enjoy 'A Tale of Two Robots' (steam-tech robots duking it out in 19th c. Tokyo, sentai-style), but I particularly love 'Nightmare' (mech version of 'Night on Bald Mountain') and 'Presence' (toymaker creates an android girl and she questions the validation of her existence). All of it beautifully animated, wonderfully directed by their respective directors, and linked together by the dark humor of the traveling Robot Carnival that destroys towns it passes through (or over).
Definitely for the lover of art and music.
