New Wallpaper, Downloads Back Online

Sorry for the wait, but today, I put up 18 new wallpapers! Check out these excellent new wallpapers for your desktop on our Wallpaper page in the Multimedia section. Thanks to R-Umino, Rhett C., Lost Memory, Tifaria, aquascript, Manji, and Mistress-Samwise for sending them in! And while I was updating, I also put up alternate versions of two older wallpapers contributed by Name of God and LeBookofThel, so be sure to check those out as well.

Also, since our new download script has had some testing done during the contest, our downloads (including our video clips and screen savers) are now back online! Check them out using the links in the menu under the Multimedia section. If you notice any errors while downloading, please let me know.

By the way, Shredder has a fanfic update coming soon, and I have a few miscellaneous updates that I didn't have time for today, so be sure to check back soon for those!

The fanfic update was delayed a bit due to the huge wallpaper update, but it hopefully will be coming by mid-week at the latest. As for my own fanfic...well, it won't be in the next update, but I am actually in the early stages of planning and writing one, so we'll see how it goes.

After the move, I haven't been able to access some of the wallpapers. I get the dreaded red x on some of them, and with the Schwarzwald Manifesto one, I can only get about a fourth of it loaded.

Some of the papers work out okay but others don't. I've had this problem before and then tested it out later and they all worked, so I don't know.

I just downloaded every wallpaper that we have available, and they all worked fine. Maybe it was a temporary network error? Could you try downloading them again to see if the problem is still there?

Most of them work, however, oddly enough, most of the ones I like don't work. The very first Schwarzwald wallpaper(the one with his manifesto on it) gets me a red x on the 800 X 600 one, and only loads about 1/4 of the other dimension size. Also, the Rain wallpaper got me a red x. The Beck manga wallpaper with the poem on it also came up with a red x, and the Ye Guilty wallpaper yields the same result.

When I first looked around on this site, I tried loading the Ye Guilty wallpaper and got the red x. Then, after coming back to the site much later and trying again, it loaded correctly and I was able to use it for my desktop. Before the move, I was able to get these wallpapers just fine, but I don't know, it may not have anything to do with it.

I assume you're using a dialup internet connection, so this was most likely caused by your connection timing out in the middle of the download. But the reason that the problem is persisting is most likely because your browser is caching the incomplete wallpaper. Try clearing your browser's cache (or "Temporary Internet Files" on Internet Explorer) and then go back to the wallpaper page and try downloading them again (it might help if you download them at a different time of the day).

The wallpapers are out of this world! You guys did such an awesome job!! I couldn't decide which one I wanted for like 20 minutes!
By the way, have you ever consider making funny/comic Big O wallpapers?

Glad you like them. And thanks for the suggestion, but the staff didn't make any of the wallpapers (they were all contributed).

Could you give me the usernames of people who contributed and so know how to make them? I have a couple of ideas for screenasvaers, but don't have the right software. Only "Paint" but that would be just cruel...

All contributors are listed underneath the wallpapers they contributed on our Wallpaper page along with their email addresses, so feel free to contact them. Many of them are also members of these forums, so you could try PMing them instead in those cases.
