Batman Begins

Well, I finally saw it. That was, the best Batman movie....ever. Everything was pulled off well. From beginning to end, I was on the edge of my seat. They managed to make the Scarecrow Scary, which I was worried as to the possibilities of doing. I was actually scared when Crane first put on the mask and the gas shot out. Also, I enjoyed the references to Tim Sale and Jeph Loeb's Batman novels. EXAMPLE:
spoiler (highlight to read):
When Batman has Crane cornered, he calls him by name. Crane replies: "Dr. Crane is not in right now, but if you would like to leave a message."
That, is a reference to the graphic novel: Haunted Knight, in which something only marginally different is said.
I happened to like the Scarecrow's end, because it fit him more than some kind of dramatic death sequence. He has never been a real fighter, and in The Long Halloween, he is taken down in seconds. It really seemed more realistic than somethign involving a massive showdown. Ra's Al Ghul deserved a greater showdown, as that has always been the way he and Batman fought. Liam Nesson did a very good Al Ghul, especially the beard (which is just as awesome in the comics)
Bale made an awesoem Batman, and the apparent change between Wayne and Batman was well demonstrated. Micheal Caine was brilliant as Alfred, and I have no problem admitting that he surpassed the previous Alfred in almost every possible way. I desperatly hope we get to actually see him in action, like when he fought Bane in the comics. Morgan Freeman was awesome as well, and really made Fox like the "Q" of this new Batman trilogy.
Over all, this movie was great, most of the cast fit perfectly (Katie Holmes wasn't that amazing, though she was good enough), and this really was the way a Batman movie should be.

I'm happy to say that Batman Begins is in it's second week at the top of the box office ( a spot well deserved) I'm seriously considering going to see it again in Imax so I can fall in love all over again.
Mark Hamill for Joker...his voice is perfect and I'm confident that with some make up he could look the part. But then again I'd have to see the other candidates.
I've been watching Batman:The Animated Series. Batman Begins rekindled fond memories of the series...I bought all three volumes.

I noticed that too. Pretty cool.
EDIT: Wazpy, what are you talking about? That line didn't have anything to do with quiting. It explains that every mistake, every accident is nothing less but an opportunity to better ourselves and become stronger. It's something that every human in the world should know and understand.

Okay, I saw it. I liked it, but I wasn't happy with the Bat-mobile.
Adam West or Christain Bale, everyone?

Christian Bale!
And yes. The "batmobile" (if it can even be considered one) wasn't too great...
...at all.
...ew.

He needed it to keep him going, which is lame. Batman only needs the death of his parents to keep him fueled. Nothing else.
People who know nothing about Batman and like to pretend they do say they love him because he's so "human." But like I said, they're posers and know nothing. He's "human" only in the sense that he can lose a fight. Batman has superhuman will. He'll keep fighting even if he's wrong about something. He never needs to stop, say some cheesy line, and think "This is an opportunity for me to become stronger." It's a given with him. He doesn't need to think about anything but keeping his identity secret, making sure others are safe, and his detective work (Of which he had none in this movie.)
I feel like I keep saying this, but "Villains are a superstitous and cowardly lot" would be a lot classier. They could have cut out those stupid scenes of him trying to be scary if he just came out and told us that the gimmick was meant to scare criminals. The movie spent too much time trying to establish him as a scary monster and none building him to be the World's Greatest Detective.
I'm getting really sick of bashing this movie, but I can't help it. I'm just so dissapointed. I feel like the director and writer know nothing about Batman. I wouldn't even mind if people didn't go around saying, "this is Batman done right." Its not Batman done right. Its a totally different take on what Batman is. All I want is for people to understand that because I really love him as a detective, not just a scary crime fighter. He's not Spiderman or Punisher. He shouldn't even be
like either of them.
Fantastic Four looks like it at least captures the essence of what they are, even though Doom is screwed up.

I saw it... and I liked it... it was good. The scarecrow guy was creepy... but he was rather girly-looking without his mask on.

So is christopher lee, but he looked fine in star wars. Granted, there was CG involved, but I still think Hamill could do the job. Especially since they're gonna dye his face and crap anyway.

Yeah, who says Joker has to be young anyway. It's more important that he's crazy and fun. I vote Mark Hamill.

Mark Hammil should, nay, must be the Joker. He is the joker. Jack Nicholsan was good, don't get me wrong, but he doesn't got anything on Hammil's voice for him. With movie magic these days, it doesn't matter how old he is.

I really liked that movie especially seeing it in IMAX. That was just awsome. Anyway Jack Nicholsan will always be my favorite actor who played Joker. Don't get me wrong Hamill could be a great Joker but Nicholsan just had a great way of playing sick and crazy people.

I personally thought that Batman Begins was the best Batman film ever. I know that it doesn't show off his detective skills or events that lead him up to being the peak of human potential, but I think that those things are going to be sacrificed when it comes to marketing and presenting a major Hollywood film to the general public. There's always going to be something edited out that only fans will realize yet the casual fan wouldn't be able to pick up on.
As for the Tumbler version of the Batmobile, I actaully ended up liking it (didn't think that was going to happen). I thought that it was somewhat practical. Besides, I've seen alot worse; namely anyone from the Joel Shumaker films. I'm sorry, but the Batmobile should never look like an overgrown rice burner decked out in neon. It's Batman, not the Fast and the Furious!
Yeah, the last 2 Batman movies were bad. I actually did like the one with the Riddler and Twoface. Then I got into the cartoon, which was really dark and the goofy stupid Batman just didn't work. Like the 19602 show.
and the movie with Schwarzenegger was plain awful. Too many bad puns and gimmicks and they ruined the awesome Mr. Freiz.

I don't know if its been posted before, but anyways here it is. probably the coolest photoshop I've ever seen, if the actor that was originally in this picture were still alive. I'd want him to be the Joker.

Okay I think I'm the last person to see this movie in theaters. Ever.
I saw it last weekend. I thought it was just plain awesome. It was pure, and dark, and true to it origins. I loved it. Well, I love Batman.
I know some of you guys complained about some of the things Christian Bale's batman did or didn't do, but come on, this is only the beginning. As the years pass, Batman only becomes more experienced; his skills and his weapons become better.
spoiler (highlight to read):
Now, am I the only one who thinks that at some point Raz al Ghoul's daughter, Talia, should come into the picture at some point in the future?
spoiler (highlight to read):
I do agree that scarecrow's last defeat sucked. He should come back.
spoiler (highlight to read):
Joker!!! That would be so cool if he were in the next movie (if there will be any)!!! The picture looks so...wow.

One thing that they kept stressing was how they hated how the previous franchise would kill off the villians.
Basicly hinting that some of them might return.
spoiler (highlight to read):
Supposedly the reason behind the weak scarecrow kill was that it was supposed to show that without fear crane is one weak loser.
One rumor is that since the scarecrow got tazered in the face and was gassed, he is forced to always wear the mask and be nutty all the time. Basicly allowing him to just come out in his full scarecrowishness in the sequel somewheres. |

The suit is the true Batman. And it will always be the true Batman.
In other news:
In my excursion south o' the border, i managed to pick up a strange pirate copy of what I think is the press release. In spanish of course. There were a few scenes taking out. (Little scenes mostly...like the intial logo just formed the bat and deformed...but they cut out the part where he busts the guys with the drugs: his first actual time as Batman! Then they skipped the first scarecrow scene with the hitman flunkie, and the part in the rainy apartment. So major continuity problems...like when Bruce wakes up in the bathrobe and that chick comes over...and saying he's been gone for like 3 days when he just got back from talking with Gordon...and then the part when Fox is developing the antidote and that one old guy fires him....)
It was like medium DivX quality, but ehh. I'll actually go out and buy the real American DVD.
