Then we would have to re-organise the entire rank system.
Just leave things as they are and be done with it all ready.

Relax, that is not going to happen.
Krang has the final word on any and all changes, thus no rash changes will be made.
My personal view is that there is no need to make any new color groups or changes to how names appear on the boards.

Krang do you think it is possible to make it so legendary members can pick their name color?

I would (and I'd do that for mods, also), but the forum software doesn't allow it since only one color is allowed for each usergroup. The same goes for star colors (the only exception to that is the default usergroup through the ranking system).

Heh mabey in later versions of the forum we can... see if you can suggest it or something.
Or if yah can change the legendary to like a bably blue color... like the mod/admin star colors.

I know how this can be done,
-Make a custom field where users can put a color value (#RRGGBB)
-Make sure only legends can have it
-Use the field VAR in the templates like this:
<span style="color:COLOR FIELD VAR">NAME VAR</span>

It's possible to write a mod that allows users to customize their entire Who is Online Effect through an else tag... Colors wouldn't be that difficult.
Rank image also through an else tag works too.. If they have an id, return custom, if not, return defaults. Hell, you can flawlessly copy the avatar code and rewrite it to get a perfectly secure version of custom rank images with settings.
Though Axehandle is talking through ignorance.. It's not that simple since you'd need to summon the variable through SQL as there's a special query for calling WIO variables and an entire file dedicated to code for them, so you'd have to edit the PHP code, specicfically in Index, Who is Where, the board sections, and of course the dedicated file. I ought to know as I've done it.

I was mearly stating an easy way to do it because I don't know how to mod a Burning Board. If this was an IPB I would have a better chance. We could try -something- like this:
Make a new SQL VAR and a way for users to edit it via UserCP(I don't know how to do that, like I said I don't know how BB works) After that use this code:
if( $VAR != '' ){
$VAR2 = "<span style='color:$VAR'>"; $VAR3 = "</span>";} else {
$VAR2 = ""; $VAR3 = ""; };
Then put this in the templates:
{$VAR2} ORIGINAL USERNAME TEMPLATE HERE {$VAR3}

You'd wind up doing what I said anyway in the end, since it checks variables relating to the WIO through a certain function. You would have to edit the function to take note of this added variable and then edit it into the SQL variables called in each file that asks for a WIO check.
Unless of course you want to hack it REALLY dirtily...

Because you touch yourself.

And they are legendary members. They get silver names.

There is a real easy way to do it:
-Post like crazy but get banned at 750 posts for spamming
-Come back, make it to 800 posts but get caught
-Come back again, make it to 999 posts and get ratted out
Or just spend time here, learn your way around, and make constructive posts. You'll get there soon enough.

But whats the point of the 3 month rule if nobody can make 500 posts in 6 months anyway...
