No, it is not out here yet, or Japan. I
think it will be out in Japan in at least two months. As for America, and Europe, ....well, I dunno.

Final Fantasy VII: AC Dated
The "sequel" we've all been waiting for hits Japan in September.
by Anoop Gantayat
May 9, 2005 - It seems like we've been waiting for years to see Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII follow-up in full form. Well the wait is at last over. Producer Tetsuya Nomura has announced through the official Shinra Electric Power Company website a final Japanese release date for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Following months of delay, the video-only release will hit Japanese retail on 9/14/2005 carrying a price tag of 4,800 yen. A limited edition version will be released at the same time, with pricing to be announced.
Work on the film seems to be winding down. Nomura reveals that all rendering is complete, and all that's left is the film's audio component. The audio is expected to be finished at the end of May, with synching starting in June, and the final preparations and editing starting in July. Promotions and production will start in August. Nomura promises that there won't be any more delays.
Nomura's announcement makes no mention of format for the movie. Square Enix and Sony Computer Entertainment have previously announced Advent Children for release both on UMD and DVD. Should one version arrive before the other, you can be sure we'll report it right here.
We're expecting further news on Advent Children at E3, including some hints on the US release. Stay tuned! |
So, apparently this date is for Japan, but who knows, maybe in that time they'll finish the English version?

The FF7 PS3 tech demo kicked major ass.
FF7:AC is supposedly going to come out in the US the same day it does in Japan, which will totally kill my face. I think the date is either the 13th or 17th of September.

Ok, here's a major list of updates:
AC
will be out 9/13 here, and 9/14 Japan.(Japan is ahead of us interms of timezones, so it
is a world-wide release)

This was by far the closest thing I think we'll get to a remake of FFVII. I really hope they
do remake it, but if they don't I'm glad they did this.

AC Version of One Winged Angel at More Friends
A new version of One Winged Angel was performed at tonight's More Friends concert in LA. The version was performed by both the orchestra and rock band, The Black Mages. It featured new lyrics which were different to those in the FFVII version. Although it was not said as such, this version appears likely to be in Advent Children.

They won't, not for a PS3, and certainly not for PS2.
Square has said that as long as the system is backwards compatible, they will not make a remake.

Yeah. I know. But it was just a tech demo from SquareEnix. However, I can pretty much promise you that there will be future FF titles for the PS3 (and, from the way things are looking, the XBOX 360 and the Revolution as well).
