Then those are the screenshots that I mentioned.

As I said in my last post, the host should be back up hopefully before the day is done.

I know, I know, why did I post this if it only applies to those in Japan?

Well, who knows maybe one of the members here has family in Japan, and could get the ticket sent to them, and take a trip out?

Pretty cool 3rd trailer! Big Grin

Also, there's been a high quality file of both the 1st and 2nd trailers (together) put up.

Btw, the higher quality ones are "VOB" files so download a codec pack, and a player to be able to watch.

DEYLAYED'D!

Darkside, I've known about that for a few days now.

I haven't reported on it because 1up.com isn't a very reliable source.

The staff at adventchildren.net have been waiting for an official statement from Sony/SE, before they go and put this up on the main page.

So, please before anything official is announced, let's keep the anger at bay.

Information about the image song for Advent Children, "CALLING" by Kyosuke Himuro, has been added to the official site. Originally from his '89 album Neo Fascio, Nomura thought that this song was the most appropriate in fitting with the world view of the film.

but a lot of stores i've been to are already taking preorders for it. what does this bode?
Gummibear 08-29-2005 01:49 PM
Hmmm..."Calling" really wasn't what I expected. The beginning of the song just doesn't feel like Final Fantasy to me but then again I might have to listen to more than just the sample and perhaps actually understand the words...hehe. Smile

From what I've heard, some stores have the date set in November, others still have the September release.

As of now, I haven't seen any official statement by Sony/SE USA.

Btw, here's a full verison of the "Calling" song, this is the 2003 verison apparently.

Here's a 2nd link if the first one gives you any trouble.

Famitsu speaks about the Venice screening.
Famitsu let out an article about the Venice Film festival screening, giving slight details of how is has been going on. After the screening, Tetsuya Nomura is expected to appear in a press conference.

Here's a machine translation of the article:

International Film Festival held in Italy until September 10 (local time). The image work 'Final Fantasy VII advent children' of square Enix is exhibited in the festival of this movie in the eminent world (Exhibit to the Outoobcompetition section).

The screening association for parties concerned holds it before the film festival on the 30th and August 31. In screening a finished version though it is the second times that 'FFVII advent children' exhibited in this film festival following last year, this is first time in the world. A noteworthy level is an exception in screening last year's special version because of 'FFVII advent children' that receives the high appraisal. There was a charm in the screen as parties concerned' eating into. After screening of about 100 minutes, applause : from the hall inside. At the official conference held after this, supervisor Tetsuya Nomura plans to appear.

Here's a translation/summary of most of the articles:
quote:
Most of these articles from today say the same basic thing (except some different pictures), explaining what the film is and how it's showing in Venice for the second year running, getting a lot of attention and so on. Apparently the film isn't all doom and gloom, there's some comical moments in there. And the Fanfare music makes a return as well, which the audience seems happy about, cheering and applauding it. At the end of the film it got a standing ovation like last year.

Some less Engrish-y versions of those quotes:

Director Tetsuya Nomura: "With CG nothing is impossible, and over the last two years we've put a lot of effort into getting it close to ideal as we could. My schedule is booked with commitments to various game projects from here on in, but if the time's right then I would definately like to make another film."

Producer Shinji Hashimoto: "As for any future plans for making another film, we're going to see how things play out and think about it. Of course, if the staff say they would like to make another, then as a company we will support them with that."

Takahiro Sakurai (Cloud Strife): "Playing a role like Cloud, who even though he's quite heroic also has a naive and awkward side to him, required a lot of subtle nuances of expression and was quite a challenge. But it was really worth it. It's an honour for me to have had the chance to play such a wonderful character."

Ayumi Itou (Tifa Lockhart): "This is the first time I've worked as a voice actor, and it was quite different from regular acting. You've got to learn to put your feelings into your voice, and I felt a bit lost at times. But I learnt a lot over two years I spent working on Advent Children. I hope I can use what I've learnt from this experience in my future film work."

I like the sample of the Remix/Rock OWA, but it was a tad hard to hear for me, so I amplified it, and made it a bit clearer. Wink

Here's a very rough translation:

We who are the children, why are we wandering the Earth?
Why has Eve's Earth been worshiped by the children?
The Planet is not forgive, you did not forgive it.
We are not forgiven, you did not forgive us.
Where do you return to the Planet , You the sacrifce of the Planet?
-or-
Sacrifice of the Planet, are you going to return to the Planet?
A man of silver love who is Eve's Child.
A temple of love existed on this Planet.
It is necessary to pray for the souls.
Why, facing the ground, do you wander the Planet?
Why do we meet at the center of the Earth?

Also, be aware that there are many spoilers now floating around everywhere on the net (even ytmnd). Watch where you "step", unless you want to spoil it for yourself. I'm not going to spoil this movie for anything. I'll "kill" those that spoil it for me. Evil

Nope, unless I can go into the future and grab my own CD, then no. Tongue

I might have to stop updating if the spoilers "spill" out on to FF7AC Reunion, or other places of AC.net. But I don't think that will happen, at least I hope not. I've already seen a major spoiler thanks to ytmnd, and that was just because they list the 'top 5' forum topics, and I scrolled down to much. But I'm not believing in it! Mad
