I used to be a complete Star Wars geek. Until Phantom Menace came out and ruined it. George Lucas is dead to me now.

But I still love Back to the Future and Indiana Jones.

And Kill Bill.

And a whole bunch of other stuff that I can't think of right now.

W00T!

They finally released the godfather seperately (I like it, I like part 2. Yes, I even like part 3 to some extent. But I'm not paying upwards of 80 bucks for the boxset).

I=T3h happy.

Now...wether to save enough for that, or the first season of millennium (which will be far more pricey) is the question...

Tough one for me, I haven't a favourite 'per se' but here's my list in no particular order.

Star Wars (IV - VI)
Blade Runner
Spaceballs
Blazing Saddles
Chicken Run (with its very British humour)
Indiana Jones (all of them)
Harry Potter (hey I like magic)
Back to the Future (all three - right in my age group)
Fantasia (sucker for classical music)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (read the full script, you wouldn't believe what fun scenes was dropped)
Month Python - The Life of Brian

I would like to mention 'Without a Clue' with Ben Kingsley and Michael Caine. If you ever get a chance watch it, I loved it because of its humour. I'm not sure it went down well in America due to its British humour, but when I saw it I hurt myself laughing (no joke I was off badminton & playing clarinet for a couple of weeks).

I am torn between two movies.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail Evil Cool

Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back >>>> Everything you stand for.

I think Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack is porbally my favorite movie, concluding the rivalry between Amuro and Char, and because Nu Gundam and Sazabi kick almost as much ass as Yuji.

I'm really fond of war movies. I have a top ten list of all time favorite movies. But this thread only calls for one movie, so I'll say Tora!Tora!Tora!

My sisters love Top Gun.....They can recite it word for word. It gets pretty annoying.

Sorry to revive such an old topic. I never really had an all time favorite movie, until I saw Laputa: Castle in the Sky. It was the only film that was touching to me.

Miyazaki really is a wonderful filmmaker. I liked PORCO ROSSO and SPIRITED AWAY at least as well, but I remember how amazed I was the first time I saw LAPUTA, about a million years ago.
Nyarlathotep 07-27-2004 12:03 AM
Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas. Hell yeah!

He does make excellent films, though I admit I was disappointed with Spirited Away.

My favorite movies in no particular order:

  • Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2
  • Reservoir Dogs
  • The Godfather
  • Samurai Fiction
  • Blue Submarine No. 6
  • The Last Samurai

Sadly only two of the movies mentioned above I own: Kill Bill Vol. 1 and The Last Samurai. I really need to complete my collection; otherwise I'll feel empty.
