Greatest Anime Swordsman.

Who would you say is the greatest anime swordsman?

I'd have to say Mihawk from One Piece. He annihilated Zoro with just a small little knife the size of a pocket knife and Zoro's at least Kenshin status if not pretty damn close.

Hm, the only anime swordsmen I know anything about are Inuyasha and Vicious. I guess I'll vote for Vicious, for the same reason I voted for Spike in another related thread: he just seems a little more real or believable.

Probably Sesshoumaru... xD

Kenshin's definitely the greatest. A true knight, if there ever was one.

The Bride. Hey, there WAS an anime part in the movie that she appeared in (for maybe 20 seconds Tongue ), so that counts!

I can see the entire scene between her and the Crazy 88's!

Kenshin. Not only is his honorable and incredible as a swordsmen, he's cute too.

The greatest swordsman...tough question...

Kenshin is up there, for sure...Sesshoumaru has some skills as well...dont laugh at this, well, too late for that, you all probably will anyway, Trunks has some skill, but he's probably too much of a brawler to be considered a swordsman (his all around ability makes him tough though)...Vicious, I dunno I only saw him in action with a sword twice (Ballad of Fallen Angels and The Real Folk Blues)...Vampire Hunter D, I dunno Id call him average at best with a sword...Samurai Jack has some skill with a sword...Yuma and the other guy from X use swords (cant think of his name now), but Id say they're average...the characters from Guilty Gear X have some sword skills, they have the anime style, but again, it's a video game...Treize Kushrenada, he took on Wufei in Gundam Wing. Im probably missing a whole bunch, but those are the ones off the top of my head that I can think of.

Id probably go with Kenshin and Sesshoumaru as 1 and 2

Probably Ky Kiske and Johnny (Guilty Gear X) as 3 and 4

With Samurai Jack as number 5.

Sadly, I dont think Vicious can crack the top 5....

.... Um have you read your history? Knight is a word defined by a European Swordman... not a Japanese Swordsman.. Prehaps you were looking for Samurai? Also I do believe that Arthur is more appropriate for a true knight, kenshin was at one time a ruthless dispicable killer.

Who is the greatest anime swordsman; I know people are going to hate me for this, but in my opinion the greatest anime swordsman is Shishio Makoto. When you think about it compared to Kenshin he is the strongest of the two. He crushed Kenshin in their first round and proceeded to humiliate Sano and The Wolf of Mibu (although they were injured). And even after Kenshin landed his most powerful attack the mummy...uh Shishio was still going on to finish the fight, but then he combusted.

So if it wasn't for Shishio's obvious disability he would of killed Kenshin and his crew. Then comes the task of throwing the country of Japan into everlasting chaos...

Hiei is one of the best swordsman ever with his Superhuman Speed and Agilty and strength Hiei is really unbeatable.

Kenshin's no samurai. A samurai is someone who fights for the power and glory of the government, i.e., his lords. Kenshin specifically stated that people who do this are mere upstarts. Not only that, he's repeatedly told others that seppuku, which is paramount to the samurai, is wrong. Kenshin fights to protect, he fights so that people can live in peace. And that is the true definition of a Knight.

Swordsman Amuro from the old school SD Gundam.
Mugiwara Luffy 05-11-2004 12:08 AM
I'd have to Shishio also.

He really was stronger than Kenshin. The only reason he lost is because he got everheated. Roll Eyes

You know, I'm surprized that no on has made mention of Jubei Yagyu (sp?) from Ninja scroll. He was quite fearsome.

Definately Mihawk! *points to avatar*

Other great anime swordsmen- Zoro, Kenshin, Shishio etc.

That nun from episode 26 of Noir.

She didn't do much, but I'll be damned if that wasn't some entertaining use of a sword.
