[The Black Jack Thread] - New Movie!

Shredder 10-11-2004 01:11 AM
The new Black Jack series should begin airing tomorrow! Hopefully, the group subbing it will finish ep. 4 of the preview eps and begin on the series ASAP. I don't know how many episodes it will be, but I hope it's pretty long!

If the series is like the preview eps (and I think it will be), I highly recommend it! But yeah, one major difference is that the newer series doesn't show the graphic medical scenes like the OVAs do, but it's still fun and original if you're looking for something new to watch. Big Grin

Dude! The fourth episode has been dubbed and put on the site. Froth-Bite.com. So you better shuffle on down and partake upon this new goodness!

And in speaking of which, in case you didn't know, I have a thread about the new Black Jack drawring I did, and lemme tell ya... It's wicked awesome. http://www.paradigm-city.com/forums/thre...eadid=9931&sid= If you love Black Jack, you'll love this picture.

I apologize for the double post, but there's no other way for me to bump up the thread.

Anywho, our friends over at froth-bite.com are now subbing the Black Jack anime series that's currently airing in Japan! Huzzah!

That's good to hear, although I haven't had the time to see the last two episodes of Black Jack Special. So far, I've seen the first 3 episodes of Black Jack. How many episodes are in the old series? I also heard about the movie, and it seems pretty good. Perhaps I will buy the Black Jack DVD's soon.

There are ten OAVs. They'll all be out by March. I still have yet to see the movie. Embarrassed Sweatdrop Hopefully, I'll get it this Sunday for my birthday!

I do recommend the OAVs. However, I suggest reading the manga beforehand so you can get a better taste for Black Jack. Then, you'll be at par for the absolute wackiness that abounds in each OAV episode.

Oh! And my Italian gal pal told me to look out for a very wonderful surprise in the tenth episode. Big Grin She said it's something the girls will all appreciate.

Crying I apologize yet again for double posting! There isn't any other way for me to bump up the thread.

So please don't hurt me! I have pretty pictures for you!

Yes. I've downloaded the new Froth-Bite Black Jack episodes and taken lovely screencaps for you. Hopefully, you'll be inspired to go and partake upon the awesome anime fun yourself!

(Please pardon the long loading times if you have a slower connection. Embarrassed Sweatdrop )

Guess who this is? If you guessed Black Jack, you are... Wrong! He's not that yet. He's the adorable, moments-away-from-being-nearly-blown-apart Kuro Hazama!

Sorry, kid, but from this day on, it's never going to be the same again.

In this series, Pinoko is often quite the scene-stealer!

Also, she takes on the mission of training Sharaku, the kid with the bandage on his head, to be a bully-beating fighting machine.

During the third episode, Black Jack and Pinoko get this pathetic-looking dog named Largo. We don't actually get to see the third episode since it wasn't aired in Japan.

We get to see more of the wacky relationship between Pinoko and Black Jack.

Black Jack, on several occasions, tries to win Pinoko over with candy.

Here, he also attempts to hide the fact that Pinoko's curry tastes absolutely terrible.

Victory!

Most importantly, Black Jack is as gorgeous as he's ever been.

So there you have it! If you haven't already, I hope that you'll go and download the fansub of this wonderful series over at Froth-Bite.com.

Nice pics you posted, Mistress. I am still trying to get the episodes of the new Black Jack series, but so far, it's pretty cool.

I just saw the 6th episode of the old Black Jack series, and I must say this wasn't your typical episode of Black Jack. It seems that he and Pinoko have gone through a time warp, and there are some magic powers involved as well. I guess you can say that it was wierd seeing BJ curing a princess and all that. I was relieved that it was all a dream, but it was still pretty odd. I think this may be my favorite episode so far. (Actually, Episode 5 was very good also) I look forward to seeing the last four.

[Goddamn it! This is the THIRD time I have to rewrite this bloody post! Mad ]

ANYWAY! I'm going to make this shorter than I want it.

Good to see your interest in Black Jack, Trisa. I hope you've enjoyed it!

In other news, I'm currently in the preliminary processes of making a Black Jack website. That's right! Although all I've got is a name (Anathema), and Japanese websites, the likes of which I will share with you right now. The art at these places are unbelievable, if not a little... weird... at times. (You don't even wanna see the sites I'm not posting.)

Some good news about the new Black Jack series: there were rumors that it was only going to be 13 episodes, but the official Japanese site has a preview up for episode 14, so it looks like they might continue past that. With so many volumes of the original manga to work with, there's no reason why they shouldn't make the series at least 26 episodes, if not longer.

Sounds good, I'm always glad to see people promote this underrated manga/anime. Smile If you need any hosting, let me know.

Oh, that's fantastic! Since there isn't much of the manga in English (koff-koff Mad ), I'm counting on this series to clue me in on the stuff I'd otherwise have no way of knowing about. I do hope that they'll get into more about Black Jack's history perhaps, and maybe even introduce Doctor Kiriko! Shocked Ohmigewdness!

It occurred to me that it was my duty to produce such a site, seeing as I have the ability, means, and sheer fan girlyness. So once I get the password to this silly computer... Look out, world! Here comes Anathema!

And Krang, I just may very well take you up on that extremely generous offer of yours, and I would be honored to do so, as well. Big Grin

After a couple months of not seeing some new Black Jack on Anime Selects (from On Demand), I was pleased to see that the 7th episode of Black Jack was now available. I saw it a few days ago, and it was a great episode. I was quite surprised to see Black Jack help those people who didn't have the money (and instead got I.O.U's) to be healed. Overall, a great episode. I'm currently looking at buying some DVD's of this series and the movie in the future.

I just saw the 8th episode. It was probably the wierdest BJ episode that I have seen so far. I also like how the old tree had special powers that Black Jack couldn't believe. Overall, another good episode. I'm really liking this series now.

Dude. It is a good day to be a Black Jack fan. Pleased Not only is it coming out soon, but it's going to be about Black Jack and Kiriko. It's going to be a showdown of a lifetime! *clenches fists in anticipation*

December 17th. Five days after my birthday, and the same date the Lord of the Rings movies would come out on. Coinicidence? I think not! Big Grin

Wow, that's great news! I was wondering when they would feature Dr. Kiriko in the new TV series, but a whole movie is even better! Big Grin From the official movie site, it looks like it will be done in the same style as the TV series, but hopefully they'll concentrate more on the main characters and less on Sharaku... Tongue Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this. Thanks for the news, Mistress-Samwise!
