I picked up my copy of Trigun Maximum from a bookstore called Waldenbooks. They're my best local source for manga. Suncoast may also have it in stock.

It's quite amazing since Waldenbooks usually had poor stock, then all of a sudden, they have 2-3 shelves full of manga. Plus they usually have sales!

But they still don't have Pocky. Suncoast has them beat on that.

i recently started watching a show called trigun and i wannt to know what its about
evanASF27 06-29-2004 01:54 AM
well I already made our Official Trigun Thread Wink

Right Here Smile

Anyways it's very very very VERY complicated. If you aren't too good in philosophy or understanding the human emotions and psychie (sp?!) you'll be lost. Also if you only saw tonight's episode, you'd REALLY be lost. My suggestion would be to start watching the series starting tomorrow at 1:30am and then every day (that adult swim is on) at 1:30am Wink ((tonight was the last episode in the series so tomorrow will be the first).

Basically without giving away too much, Vash the Stampede is a "wanted man", but no one really knows what he looks like. He has a $$60 billion bounty on his head for destroying the city of July (but without murdering anyone there). Millie and Meryle were sent by an insurance company to search and find Vash the Stampede and keep him under 24hour survealence (sp?). Vash does crazy things, mainly to make people think he isn't the legendary Humanoid Typhoon, and so Millie and Meryle aren't sure if it's him. They meet a traveling priest, Wolfwood, who is a churchman that is a really damn good shot. As vash said a few times "HEY! 'Thou shalt not kill'! What the hell kinda priest are you anyway?!" Smile From there, men are after Vash all the time, each time he solves the problems without killing...

Watch the show to figure out the rest. Wink

(Can a mod please merge this thread with the "The *Official* TRIGUN thread! ^_^ (Yum Donuts!)"?? Thank you!)

Did anybody realise that Legato's arm that he uses to control things is probably Vash's arm that Knives shot off.

It is.
evanASF27 07-19-2004 04:21 PM
if it's the one with the huge spher like thing with spikes...that isn't vash's arm...

The other arm (left) is vash's...and you're probably right...half plant half human...deadly combination.

That is indeed Vash's arm. Mind Control was one of Vash's original powers, and it is how Knives is able to make Vash use the angel arm.

The fact that the power is located in Legato's arm is a little ironic, because in the manga, Legato gets his arms and legs ripped off by Knives (quite violently might I add) leaving him completely powerless.

just as a little add on in the manga knives kills legato in stead of vash doing it...if im not mistaken...

No, you're right. It makes sense in an Emishi sort of way. Legato got overzealous and was punished.

I kind of like Nightow's political commentary in places...but it is soooo much gorier than the anime.

I noticed that...I couldn't take that one home 'cuz my little bro's real sensitive about that sorta thing, and he always insists on reading my manga. Vash is even cuter in the manga too...:drools:

Wolfwood is so Yummy!! I love looking at him in the Manga..Drooling
seraphjei 07-29-2004 02:08 PM

spoiler (highlight to read):
chapel....because I remember Legato calling him that...

In the second Trigun manga, in fifth moon, page 228 here is what Legato says to wolfwood:

spoiler (highlight to read):
Legato: That Cross...your "Chapel" correct?

Also on 237, they show a picture of the Gungho guns (Not includeing Demonqe) and they show every one exsept the Chapel from the anime. insted it is wolfwood

come on people lets make this thread STICK! Big Grin

Dont you think its weird that the anime trigun and manga trigun follow different lines...well the basic story is the same but there is always something different about the manga than the anime...or vice versa. i mean come on...as if staying up(a long time ago when trigun was still on) for hours on end seeing trigun trying to understand what the hell is going on...then comes the manga...hours of reading...GRRRRRRR. those punks are lucky im one hell of a dedicated fan...

OH by the way...in the manga who is that one transexual chick in the gung ho guns...she wasnt in the anime...what was her name...the one who could shoot spikes or somethin...what the hell was her name...anyways...i was wonderin how she ends up in the manga...and remember...

REVIVE THIS THREAD DAMNIT

Huh? You have pictures? I'm confused as to who you speek of...Because I really don't think there was another woman other then Dominque in the Gung-ho guns. Even in the manga. Does she show up in later volumes or something?
Wingnut 12-14-2004 05:14 AM
Yeah, and the one that shot spikes in the anime was E. G. Mine or Mime, I'm not sure which.

Appears in: The Trigun Manga

Story: Elendira never appears in the Trigun anime. She's in the manga only. I've never read the manga, so I can't tell you much about her. Well.. she isn't even a she at all, she's a transvestite. Elendira carries around a large case that fires 4 foot nails. (As in metal nails, ya know they hold stuff together.) That she enjoys impaleing her enemies with. She very jealous of Legato because of how close to Knives he is.

hers a pircture i found...took me forever to find it...
