How would you feel about getting a use or two out of Beck and Angel in the near future? I'd really love to discuss and maybe co-write a flashback between Angel and Alan, and I think I want poor Beck to become some sort of hostage at the hands of Alan at some point. XD;
We should taaaaallllk. 8O |
YES. OMG, I'd love an Alan/Angel flashback. And Beck at the hands of Alan? Double yes! That'd be awesome.
Summer school and work are eating up a lot of time, but you can always email/PM me, since I have trouble finding time to be on AIM anymore. XD |
Will do! *salutes* If we actually got a post done through PMs, that'd take care of our problems anyway.

*waves arms* don't look at me. I'm waiting on stryker to get back to me on something. It's a little backstory. Then I have to figure something out with regards to my current situation with darkside.

And my character's a sitting duck. lol. I don't really know what I'm doing at current moment. My character kind of goes with the flow, which is good, because so am I right now. Snake, I'll have to p.m. you with some kind of idea or something.
But I'm almost done with school, which should help. ^_^

Why not figure a way around that? He was about to run off an fight Big Duo. He has enough to do (If he ever shows up).
I know everyone wants to plan and be careful, but by the time everyone is done collaberating and finishing their humongo flashback posts, we'll all be back at school and this will be on hold again

I don't want to rush anything, but I enjoyed the way it was before the huge break when everyone's character just did their own thing to warp the story and others would work around it.
I sound like all I do here is bitch

I don't think your bitching...
Nonetheless, you do have a point. An RPG is kinda supposed to be an on your toes kind of writing game right? In some respects, we preplanned stuff due to the simple facts some of the characters (i.e. the Seebach's) need to know their backstory with one another. I know I planned something with other characters and we collabed especially in the dialogue and fight scenes so you don't have to deal with "short post" + "short post" + 'long memory post."
We'll get this on it's feet again! And I gotta practice my writing instead of playing The Sims 2.
I still gotta get that bit at the cemetary and since Roger is off doing something, Dorothy needs to get her nose into someone else's story line. Whose? I don't know.

Nah, you're not bitching. It's a totally valid point.
I think the spontenaeous approach worked well at the beginning, when everyone was still getting into their characters and establishing storylines and whatnot, but now that the story's gotten more involved, it seems like you almost
have to collaborate to an extent, especially in scenes with multiple characters or a lot of action. It's hard to write a really detailed post when switching back and forth between players because then the point of view of the characters is constantly switching with little short posts instead of one big post that seems to flow a little smoother.
However, you're right, too many collab posts can not only take too long to write/post, but kinda ruin the "as you go" feel of the story. So, I think as long as we maintain a healthy balance between the two, it'll work out. Or something.

[insert Wazpy & Tifaria's posts here

Spontaneity is a good thing, it can lead to further developement of a character and possibly wacky outside-the-box scenarios. But at this point each members needs to collaborate with other members so as to see if an idea can go even farther.
Part of the problem in my mind is the "I can't make dialogue or an action for another character" code...which when it comes to large actions (like going across town, killing[other characters]/[the character]dying, and other big actions or events like that) and monologues (Schwarzwald anyone?) is a very important rule, you wouldn't see me (Dastun) writing a monologue for Alex Rosewater in a Dastun posted without verifying it with Big Finale. But small actions (like being in the same room, or even some conversation/dialogue) don't need code enforcement as much, I think.
So it may be a good idea for us to just start writing and if necessary we can change small actions or whatever after posting so as to keep true to character...but I don't think it has to keep slowing us down. (Of course if a member becomes completely absent we don't really have a choice and have to either wait or cast a new person for the part, just so we can keep goin)

1. Bitching is sometimes necessary.
2. You do more than that.
3. I do have something else to do: Deal with Giant Robo.

On a completely unrelated note I've updated my
post (i.e. rewrote Amelia's part).
If there are errors, I began to grow weary at the end, but I think that's a much better improvement than the last attempt.
I agree with what everyone said with the whole collab thing and I feel we'll get a happy medium between both soon.

I know right now Dorothy is kinda on her toes and I'm just waiting to see where she takes us.

*drags himself in out of the rain*
I'm really sorry guys, I'm STILL adjusting to work, and have STILL been playing racing games to stay awake the past two months! Plus I'm also still working on my epic anime RP, which the guys dearly love out here. After checking in and not seeing a peep on the boards, I eventualy kinda... forgot about you guys. Sorry. *sniff*
Anyhow, I'm going to read pen's post and... erm, I'd like to lobby for pen to take control of Seebach. She has a great twisty kind of head.
Oh and Snake, I'll see about something on your PM soon. Can't promise when, but I'll put my noodle on it.

YAY! WELCOME BACK!
If I take Seebach that means I have three characters.. I've been tempted just because I do know some of what FP planned for at least what concerned Amelia (I have them still saved which is amazing...). My issue is that there's some stuff between Norman and Seebach that only FP knew what he was doing...

Do you want to brainstorm some evening?
I'll be doing a post to catch up to where you are sometime soon. Of course it depends on how conscious I am at night after work. :p
Anyway, it's good to be back home, again.

Great to have you back, boy. To celebrate your return, when Alex and/or the Union get around to doing things of evil-ness again, I'll work really extra hard on screwing poor Roger's life up. Sound good?

Uhm... you are glad to see me, right?
But that sounds great! The conflict under the bridge was outstanding! You guys all gave it some guts - save for some stumbling in one part. But it was awesome.
pen, I'll do a post in response to yours one of these nights. I kinda fell asleep on the couch after work tonight.
I'll also do a few sketches of the meeting between Norman and Gordon Rosewater that have been rattling around in my head, and maybe a few on Schwarzy. Maybe you could do a few yourself of what you understand to be Phoenix's unwritten symphony.

I just wanted to say how cool it is to read excellent new posts in this RP. That's some admirable stuff, and a fantastic collab with Tif and Xel! Background posts from you guys are always fascinating.
Welp, sunday, gotta run. Maybe one of these evenings when I can stay awake I'll even be on then!

And Snake, I'll see if I can do that writing bit for you this week, if my brain can cool off anyhow...
