That is very, very good.

Also people, if you're reading this, be ready; I believe we might be able to re-open soon...

I am so ready.

I don't know why, but I have a sudden interest in this again. I'm not thinking of joining, but if anyone is interested in summing up whats been happening, that would be awesome. Details arn't needed (Unless you're bored and really want to write everything out...)

Remember, I did play a bit part back in the late 90's.

I'm ready....though I forgot what the hell I was doing O_o;;

And we loved Officer Bustems so much too, Wazpy.

I'll work on a summary and post it up if I can find the time, but if anybody else wants to go for it, don't let me hold you back.

HA HA! I've thought about this. Don't worry, I think this'll come back.

Same problem as others: WHAT Were my characters UP too? Oh dear.

I've been busy with programs and stuff at work. I'm still not good on the time thing (though, I've had a sort of writer's block for about three months). The writing fog looks like it's disappearing.

I guess we wing it?

Maybe I should MAKE time for that summary...

I think, when I feel like I can devote time to read some of the later posts, I will figure out what was going on. Though...I have most of the posts saved on Disks...with her background...

Hey, I'm in Big Grin ...

Guys, anyone who wants to catch up, you could just go back to page 7 or 9 or so, and read a page's worth a day. That might take 20 minutes or so. I'll read tiill I drop myself.

It's really good, what everyone added to this, WAY more fun cool than a silly old synopsis. Big Grin

And I'm hoping everyone's all gathering around in case something BIG happens...

What's this? I can finally plan with Darkside now? I feel like the only one who remembers what their character was doing. Snake and Rampage were about to have a confrontation to.....well....better not say any more.... it'll spoil it. Now I just have to find the papers with the plans on them....
Tifaria 08-29-2005 09:48 PM
Hey, so, uh... I wrote a summary. It's not very interesting, and I don't even know if anyone still wants to read a summary, but here it is. Rhis covers up through the end of Part One so far (somewhere around the middle of page 5). It's not very interesting, and for a summary, it's pretty long, but maybe it'll do.

I really could have shortened all of this to: Angel, Beck, Snake, Emilia, Alan, and Roger meet at the Speakeasy. Roger and Snake fight a Megadeus. Alex Rosewater plots to unleash Big Fau, Michael Seebach is still alive, and Vera Ronstadt is also plotting.. something. Dunno what yet.

Anyway...

We begin with Alex Rosewater. He looks out over Paradigm City, smirking to himself before summoning Alan Gabriel and asking him about the progress on "his Megadeus". Alan tells him that Big Fau still needs more time and Alex allows him to do what he wants for the evening. Alan gleefully heads for the Speakeasy, "least of all for the alcohol".

Meanwhile...

Patricia Lovejoy aka Angel surveys the Speakeasy while she waits for Beck. Why exactly she's waiting for Beck is not clear. A strange looking man in a suit and sunglasses is at the bar, and Miss Lovejoy, being the sneaky woman she is, decides to talk to him while she waits for Beck. Snake Mercato never removes his sunglasses, and doesn't seem to quite trust her, but he lets loose a string of odd questions anyway, asking her "What has happened to this place? They seem completely lost... I fit in perfectly. I only know a few things about my past. Other than that, I'm lost too. I don't even know my age..."

Snake seems to somewhat trust Patricia, and he removes his sunglasses, revealing red eyes and a scar running through his right eye. He then asks her about Megadeus activity in the city, telling her that he "didn't think there were that many left". She gets a little too eager and tries to figure out if Snake has any Memories that may be useful to her. This obviously puts him off a little.

Miss Lovejoy notices a mousy looking girl trying to convince the bartender to give her a job. The girl is so obviously out of place in the Speakeasy, slipping up once or twice, getting fed up that the bartender doesn't know who she is. Snake introduces himself to the girl, who says her name is Isalai Tsai, and tells her that he doesn't care what her secret is, but she "should try to steady [her] voice more to cover [her]self up". He then turns to Miss Lovejoy and demands to know what she's after, nearly losing his temper. He calms down and then decides to start over by asking what year it is and whether she or Isalai know of somewhere he can stay.

Angel curses inwardly at Isalai for disrupting her potential interrogation of Snake. She decides that she needs to fix things fast or else lose any potential Memories Snake might have. She suggests that they can help each other out and tells Snake to call her Angel.

Meanwhile...

Detective R. Freddy O'Reilly has been sent to investigate the murder of an upper-class female living inside the domes. There is no motive and no suspects. Was it simple jealousy? Or was it even a person at all? He has his doubts, given the rash of odd occurrences in the city lately. The body was found nearly drowned at the bottom of a fountain. Her body was still alive, but there was no brain activity. There are no dreams or thoughts going through it. It's a strange case, and the husband appears to know nothing and the daughter of the victim has either run off or been murdered herself.

Detective O'Reilly just hopes that it's only a simple grudge attack. The last thing the city needs is more "more megadeuses or maniacs terrorizing out city... or people with regained memories."

Meanwhile...

Snake snaps at Angel that the only memories he needs are his own and again demands to know the year and a place to stay. While he waits for the bartender to bring him another drink, he talks out loud about himself. Apparrently he looks 23 but remembers things from 43 years ago-- before everyone in Paradigm lost their memories. Yet he doesn't remember anything about himself from before five years ago. He remembers a laboratory, but doesn't remember what was done to him. He asks Angel if she's happy now that he's revealed some of his memories to her, "whatever they have to do with [her]".

Beck finally shows up, which makes Isalai jumpy. She seems to know Beck from somewhere, but if so, Beck doesn't recognize her. She squeaks in surprise and prays that Beck doesn't realize that she is really Emilia Townsend, not Isalai Tsai. Isalai is just an alias. She wonders what he has to do with Angel.

Snake, meanwhile, dislikes Beck on the spot, and the feeling seems to be mutual. He finds him arrogant and idiotic and immediately regrets telling Angel anything about himself. He asks Angel why he's getting so much attention, other than his memories. Beck laughs and tells him that he'll "find out soon enough", even though Beck himself doesn't know. He and Beck banter for a moment while Emilia hides behind Snake, praying that Beck doesn't recognize her. They apparrently have some history that she doesn't wish to repeat.

Angel, meanwhile, slyly tells Snake that he's become "quite the attraction", scolding him for asking so many questions in a public place instead of being more subtle. She decides that they should start over, and reintroduces herself and Beck. She turns to Emilia and scolds her as well for being so obvious about hiding something. The two of them are only attracting more attention by trying to be secretive. She tries to strike a deal with Snake and Emilia, offering to help them find what they want in exchange for any Memories they may have.

Emilia tries to deny that she's hiding from anyone, but is obviously nervous about something. She silently hopes that no one has heard about the recent disappearance of one Emilia Townsend, knowing that she's a target for so-called Memory Seekers like Angel.

Meanwhile...

Alan Gabriel drives through the streets of Paradigm, trying to decide just what kind of mayhem he wants to cause. As much as killing amuses him, it doesn't really allow him to keep a low profile, and any of his actions will undoubtedly be linked to Alex Rosewater in the end.

He ends up at the Speakeasy, which by his standards is a hole in the wall, but to his surprise, he finds "not just one canary [there], but two!"

Angel turns around to find herself face to face with Alan, who is quite gleeful about having found her. She prays that at least Roger Smith won't show up. The last thing she needs is him and his android around. She quickly blames Beck for being late in the first place. If he'd only showed up on time, they could have left and none of this would have happened.

While all of this is going on, Big Ear has been surveying the Speakeasy, filing away information about everyone.

Outside the Speakeasy...

R. Freddy O'Reilly approaches, lost in thought. Upon spotting Alan Gabriel, he begins speculating to himself. All records on him have seemingly been erased. According to Military Police files, Alan shouldn't even exist. No one can say for sure who he is or where he came from, but Freddy recalls one particular rumour he's heard about Alan, which has it that he was once an android engineer, but due to failing business he snapped, destroyed all the androids in his small shop, and went on a spree destroying other androids. He was caught and taken to a certain Paradigm Corporation weapons facility, and no one knows what was done to him.

But of course, this is all based on rumours and hearsay.

Freddy enters the Speakeasy to find our colorful cast of characters, musing to himself that Angel was once a former Paradigm employee, but left quite suddenly. This reminds him of a certain Michael Seebach....

"Micheal Seebach.

We don't need another ghost in this city."

In the meantime!

Roger Smith, after a shaky start to his day, is finally out and about in his car. Oddly enough, our protagonist has been relatively inactive thus far. He calls to Dorothy to tell Norman that he's gone out and should be back in about an hour.

At Paradigm Co. HQ...

Alex Rosewater demands that "it" be activated, whether it's ready or not. The mechanic on the other side insists that "the restraint programming and core memory overrides" aren't installed yet, but Alex tells him not to question his authority.

At the same time, an explosion erupts in West Dome Number Five. A Paradigm Co. research facility is decimated by missiles, and only the shadowy figure of a Megadeus can be seen emerging from the shadows.

Alex Rosewater smirks to himself and leaves it for Roger Smith to deal with.

(and... drat, it's too long. I'm going to have to wait an hour to post the rest, it's telling me. Waah.)
Tifaria 08-29-2005 09:51 PM
Awesome! I owe you a cookie or something, D-Boy. Big Grin

Back at the Ranch:

The explosion is heard at the Speakeasy, and Emilia screams out that it's coming from West Dome Number Five just before collapsing. Snake mutters something about Megadeuses and excuses himself, calling his own Megadeus, Big Soh, and boarding it. Amazingly, no one sees him do this.

Angel kneels down next to Isalai/Emilia reluctantly, deciding to stay with her even though she really wants to follow Snake. She doesn't feel right leaving Emilia with Beck. She lays Emilia across some chairs in the corner, when to her horror, Roger Smith arrives. She prays that he doesn't see her with the likes of Alan and Beck.

Roger takes his usual seat next to Big Ear, who tells him about "rumors circulating of a man from outside Paradigm who entered the city not long ago.... A mercenary of Hell, whatever that means."

In the city, Colonel Dastun begins to mobilize his men to figure out what the explosion was. He expects Roger Smith to show up at any moment, but instead is greeted by a strange Megadeus. Shortly after, Big Soh arrives and begins to attack.

R. Freddy looks out over the "battlefield", and is summoned by Paradigm Co. They have a new assignment for him, and they also want him to find out who pilots of the red and black Megadeuses are.

Roger Smith is leaving the Speakeasy when he hears sirens. He decides to follow the MP cars to see what the fuss is about.

Meanwhile, the foreign Megadeus, which appears to be similar to the Archetype, batles with Big Soh.

Roger is interrupted by his communicator screen. It's Norman, and he informs Roger that Big-O has been re-armed, and just in time. Roger asks him to send Big-O over immediately. Snake, inside Big Soh, tells him that he is an ally, not an enemy, and they should attack the strange Megadeus together. They fight for a while, and after destroying it, Snake heads back to the Speakeasy. Roger also decides to go back, noting that he saw Angel there earlier, but didn't get to talk to her. He thinks she may know who the pilot of the strange Megadeus was. However, Snake interrupts him before he can talk to Angel. and asks that they go elsewhere to talk. He thinks there's a connection between their Megadeuses. Angel does her best not to appear hurt by Roger's ignoring her, but he (sort of) notices anyway and tells her that he'll come back later. Snake echoes this, saying he would also like to talk to her, reminding her of how she said they could help each other.

Angel nods, but feels somewhat upset. She can't leave Isalai alone, and she certainly doesn't want to leave Alan and Beck alone in the same place. She mutters to Isalai that she hopes the mousy girl is worth the trouble, because she could be with Roger Smith instead. Alan, overhearing this, leans down to say to Isalai, "I wouldn't worry if I were you, though. She does have a tendency to abandon most of her obligations for that man. It'll only be a matter of time."

Michael Seebach, meanwhile, is alive. I'm not even going to attempt to summarize FP's post. Just re-read it. Page five.

Alex Rosewater laughs to himself (when is he ever NOT laughing to himself?) as he looks out over the ruins of the Archetype 2. Within Paradigm Co. HQ, a Megadeus's eyes flash for a moment before fading to dark again.

And in the rain, a woman hums to herself as she walks along, the rain soaking her jacket and long blonde hair. She does not notice, or does not care, and only laughs to herself at what a delusional megalomaniac Alex Rosewater is.

End of Part One

Oh, and I forgot to mention! If I left out anything important, please feel free to correct me! I wrote some of this while half-asleep, so please, please, do point out any errors I've made.

Tifaria are rawk

...just one note, though. The archetype 2 actually is the original archetype, just upgraded. Other than that, I love it. You make all our haphazard moves in the beginning look like a polished fanfiction.

Two thumbs up!

When can we re-open this, I've got all sorts of ideas now for Rampage.
Xel 08-29-2005 10:21 PM
OMG teh cool.

Only thing I can think of that you left out was Alan's brief encounter with R.D. It's not an extraordinary deal now, but I think it potentially could be in the future.
The Big Finale 08-29-2005 10:24 PM
Darkside: We will re-open the instant FP is ready to make a post, no sooner. The delay is for storyline purposes, as well as convience for FP.

Xel: That was after Vera showed up though, wasn't it?

While that's true, I wish he'd hurry his ass up. X3 The Big-WTF kinda died too, unfortunately.

Ah, was it? It's been so long. The memory, it is garbled!

You and me both. And that is kind of a pity... but I guess our hearts lie with the real deal.

Garbled memories about the events of a Big O roleplay. Irony abounds.
