[Other] The Big-Oh! RP — An Archive of Plans and Discussions

Ugh... I need 8 hours of sleep... I'm starting to feel like Roger...

Anyway, I noodled some kind of a post idea and passed it around to the big guns of the RP to get some input, and am waiting for them to reply. So far, Big Finale likes it pretty much as is. Shocked Go figure. I'll fuss with it a bit more maybe, and wait to see what the others say before I post it sometime after noon. I'm assuming Snake is gonna make his move, so I left it at the start of his assault.

Hmm... so far, as of noon est, I'm getting "It's fine, post it," so I guess I will, and if anyone can suggest any changes, I'll edit it. This will give everyone a chance to digest it and react. Oh, and thanks for the positive reaction. I kind of wrote it half awake, so hey, sometimes you just fall into something the right way. Wink

Oh, stryker! That last post was awesome! It made no sense as to who the POV was until the middle to me, but it was still amazing!

Thanks JA, I'm glad you like it. I just hope it meets with the Xel Seal of Approval. I really couldn't handle the scene without some sort of Alan Gabriel climax in it, it would just be wrong.

*laughs* It seems like I'm trying to set some kind of edit record for a post. I wrote out a bunch of edits at the first 3 or 4, but like an idiot I didn't just paste it in. And then I thot of a few more. Tongue

[edit] Well... I just got a PM, in which Xel has annointed me her stand-in! Oh my gosh... Those little shoes of his are so big... I'll be begging for a lot of her help if she can't do much soon...

Hey!!! Friggin bird! (Fallen Phoenix)...

Just lettin you know, now Norman, Dorothy, and Seebach have Dastun to worry about.

(Hmm....I wonder what Dastun might do if he sees Seebach there...that would be VERY interesting indeed!)
stryker 09-12-2004 10:12 PM
Woah... all I can say is, woah... Big Grin

How about a quick discussion of the anatomy of the mansion? It has quite a few stories, 20 or so, and Roger clearly has a living area in the top floor for himself, and perhaps Dorothy and Norman. I think there are guest quarters either on that floor for special friends, or the floor below, and other such quarters in the middle floors. Norman undoubtedly has Seebach in the middle somewhere, in an out of the way room that no one would probably go to.

There are undoubtedly rooms on the first floor for greeting guests and business visitors needing negotiation. Probably a kitchen on the first floor to tend to guests, and maybe one near the top story as well so Norman can tend to Roger efficiently. And dens, studies and the like on the first and top floors for Roger to entertain his guests as well.

There's probably a gym in either the basement or one of the middle floors, as Roger is pretty buff and all and that shape has to be maintained. Seebach will probably need to use it to rehabilitate, at least I'd think. And there are elevators, stairs, restrooms, a library, lots of places that offer chances for Seebach to leave traces that there's an uninvited guest lurking somewhere. Wink

I was actually thinking...that he'd spot a bandage on the floor (yah I know schwarzwald's gone and this is seebach...but hey let us jump to to conclusions Big Grin ) and then he finds alot of cigarettes in a tray...a few still smoldering......

this would make a very interesting turn of events wouldn't you say?

*EDIT*
Because FP is whining to me ~_~ ...I'm taking back my post for the moment -____-## You owe me bird.
The Fallen Phoenix 09-12-2004 10:32 PM
I really hate to make requests like this, especially as I've already made one before, but can we please "dance around" Norman and Seebach for the time being? I mean, my posts are just about done, I'm just waiting for a lull in the narrative (that is, after the action has finally concluded) to actually post them...any posts making references to the mansion at this time really would force me to redo sections of my posts, which I'd really rather not have to do...again...

I feel really bad requesting this, and I probably won't do it again, but I just think it'd be easier for everyone.

---
As for a layout of Smith Mansion: while no means comprehensive, my posts will have a pseudo-layout of sorts, as (I really don't want to spoil the posts, but oh well...) some of the Norman's (post-Event) memories do make reference to several areas of the Mansion we've yet to see...

I suppose I might as well mention that at the end of my post, Norman will not be at the Mansion, so if anyone does want to make posts referring to Norman or Seebach, please keep that in mind. Again, I'll have the posts up after this sequence has ended, I just think it'd feel terribly out of place if I posted it now.

Think of it this way: I'm sure no one would appreciate if, halfway through the Big O/Big Duo battle in "Enemy is Another Big!", there was a sudden cut to Norman in the kitchen, cooking dinner. It really wouldn't work... Roll Eyes
stryker 09-12-2004 10:33 PM
Fallen Phoenix, you really have me engrossed in this. Knowing you, you have something mind-blowing in store. This RP is getting to be as awesome and as anticipated for me as the show. Man, the next few days... *whew*

And then, Norman made everyone tea and crumpets. Big Grin

Woah, Evan, you deleted the whole thing! Dude, I hope you saved that. You know, you could re-enter it, go to the mansion, and say that no one answers the door or something, or leave that whole part off. Maybe call Roger instead? That would be entertaining. "Uhh... I have a pair of assassins in the oven right now..." Big Grin
evanASF27 09-12-2004 10:44 PM
nah...
I'm going to wait until Herr Phoenix has done his thingy...then I'm posting. Dorothy will answer the door...PLEASE TELL ME SHE'S THERE ~_~

^^ Oh! Yay! So I guess French is the officail Union language! I wrote a phrase in french for Emilia's mother! Just wanted to comment that it was pretty cool of Stryker to encorporate it into his writing. It really feels like an authentic part of the scene when Stryker writes.
stryker 09-13-2004 05:45 PM
*chuckles* Gee whiz, you guys are too nice to me. Pleased

I'd thot that Vera was German at first, as she sounded to me like she had a German accent. But then when she said "Adieu" to Alan Gabriel in their duel, I thot she might be Swiss, since Switzerland speaks French, German and I believe Italian. But then Pygmailion pointed out she could come from Alsace-Lorraine in France, since it borders Germany and influenced the accent some.

But yeah, I decided to go with Fronch, since she'd said some Fronch words. Oh ho ho, check out zee axxent, I aym so saxxie. Big Grin

But silliness aside, I'd forgotten that Emilia's mom had spoken French before. But that's just another cool coincidence that ties this all together. Does this mean that the Union is made of refugees from the European Union which managed to come to Canada or some place on the east coast of the US?

Oh, and Big F, looks like Vera's on. Snake kind of put the cuffs on her. What did you bring to the party? Wink Woops... Alan... I'd better think about this, since Xel probly still can't participate... *sigh* Xel! You have such good ideas!! Hurry back home, girl!!

Yes! Vera is on! I put a little drama (it's what I get for reading Angel Sanctuary...er..) in the story now, considering how my character is a little shyer version of Rem from Trigun and holds meaning for all life. (Sometimes quite the opposite of me...) But indeed, she's basically just begging Snake to not kill...ur...Vera. Red Face But I dunno, I really didn't do anything. But...I'm sure Big F is gonna put on a great show now! Shocked

I actually didn't finish my post, but I had enough to submit it. I had to go back to class before Icould finish. Anyway, I have no intention of killing Vera.
stryker 09-14-2004 07:59 AM
Uhhh... Snake, I really think you need to rewrite that post. Taking a character out indefinitely like that is kind of a bad idea... Shocked Especially when you didn't give Vera a chance to do anything...

Oh well, gotta scoot, late for work...
The Big Finale 09-14-2004 09:08 AM
.....
.......

No. I don't think so. That goes well beyond the limits to which god-moding is allowed. I will admit on going over the line when I stuck a knife in Emilia's arm, but that was nowhere near BREAKING BOTH OF VERA'S ARMS. And without my consent at that. No, don't edit it; I'm going to ignore it either way. I'd honestly like to offer you my sincrest apologies for being so rude, but that was far from acceptable.

Just to inform everyone, I'll make an in-character post sometime later today.
snakemarcato13 09-14-2004 09:44 AM
I am aware that I was out of line. The only reason that I did it was to that I couldn't be shot in the back. I will edit it.
stryker 09-14-2004 10:50 PM
Uhm... in light of today's faux pas and ruffled feathers... I don't know, maybe I'm just being the pushy negotiator wanting everyone to make nice and be happy here, but I thot I'd make some suggestions for the RP for us new guys.

- The plots for the RP are being managed by Big Finale, pen1300 and Fallen Phoenix, and maybe Tifaria, so in your posts, don't try to create plot twists like sudden events that would have to be worked into what the others are planning for us. If you do have an idea, PM them before you spring it in the RP.

- When you post an action that affects others in the scene, give them a chance to respond before you do anything else. And don't play a character as too overpowering.

- Don't do anything to another character that will drastically affect them without contacting them first, like, uh... serious injury. Wink Something like that would be a plot twist and would be the prerogative of the RP managers, because it would take them out of the RP for a good long time.

- Let the bad guys manage to get away somehow, unless the RP manager puts them under your control to capture. We need bad guys, they make the RP go round.

- Uhm... LOVE AND PEACE! Big Grin

I guess that's about all. Maybe Big F, Phoenix or pen would make a suggestion of their own. I just want this RP to continue to be the thrill it's been for all of us for the past several weeks.

...well what if we want to spice things up and agree to add a new villain?
stryker 09-14-2004 11:39 PM
I think new villains are a cool idea, but the thing is that the RP is really cooking now with some really awesome, well thought out threads. As far as I can tell from what the big guys have posted here, but it sounds like they have some real surprises that are like right out of a Konaka script. If we want to do something like that, I think we should run it by them first. Because there's quite a bit going on in the background already, with Michael Seebach and Norman Burg's thread. Amelia Seebach and Big Duo, and what Alex is up to with his megadeus, and what Vera and Alan Gabriel are up to. Not to mention whatever Angel and Beck were plotting! That's a LOT of plots running at the same time! Tongue

Let's let things develop for a while before we even think of new villains. And if you bring in Lupin, Big O will step on him immediately. Big Grin
evanASF27 09-15-2004 01:12 AM
Not before he calls Big LupinIII! Evil (see: The Greatest Thief) Big Grin

Tongue Nah I was thinking some neo-Schwarzwald or something like that kinda guy who was intregued by Schwarzwald's work adn then became obsessed to find the truth but in his own style.

But anyways...yes let this cook for a while and the simmer down. I want to get Dastun involved somehow with someone OTHER than Roger for a change (leading to something interesting I hope!)...hmm but perhaps I'm jumping the gun. I don't want to leave the remaining MP officers at the station....I'll come up with something when the time comes.
