Well, if everything is a hologram, then the holographic plants are not subject to the rules of photosynthesis. But they do use artificial lighting to grow stuff on Gordon's farm, so apparently that's not a problem.

From
Bring Back My Ghost, an image of the sky above East Town -- a place "bursting with bright sunshine and smiling faces".
Yep, you're looking at Roger's idea of "bright sunshine".

Wow! You know, I never recall noticing that. So you think that rests outside of the Superdome or out of the East Town Dome? I'm kind of confused at its location.

I'm pretty sure that's part of the dome... in later shots of that dome and others, you see large metal arcs that go across the outer edge, presumably sun devices.

It's attached to the east town dome. That's another reason the rich live in domes, they are pretty much the only people who have sunlight. Sort of.

Oh. So, you mean, the people outside the dome have no sun? I could have sworn I saw the sun shining on a dome a bunch of times.
They don't have direct sunlight, they have all the clouds in the way most of the time.
But yeah, the sun came out a couple of times, in acts 8 and 10. I think that they forgot about those when they put the lighting grid over the sky at the end of season 2.

That's a bit strange. The clouds are probably from a nuclear war, like in The Matrix...

(The entire thing is like the matrix.

No, it's also in the second season when Roger and Angel are on the beach the first time in "Eyewitness."

When you say "it", do you mean the natural sun or the sun on a track?

In one of the comics(Volume 5 I think), Roger goes to this rich dome with an artifical sun...I guess they can replicate it, in the manga anyway

Well, it's not like it would be hard. It's just a mass of huge lights.

I don't believe any part of the shoreline is within a dome, so the sunlight can't be coming from a dome-sun. It must either be the sun or cleverly aimed stagelights.

Oh, hmm. That's a VERY large sun. It's probably just artificial outside of the Superdome, though.

perhaps that is the real sun and that the superdome doesn't actually exist until the city starts to collapse?

Or worst case: the writers didn't think of the superdome until Act 25.
