Byranx: First, welcome back! Second, Spider-Man!

A very, very clear image; no grain or blurriness to speak of. It's always refreshing to see your "real" images...it's a nice departure from the usual animations and drawings which make up the great majority of avatars.

The shading on Spidey's right shoulder does seem odd; at first glance, it looks like a black box that's sitting on his shoulder. There's really nothing you can do to it (especially since it appears to be a product of the original image), but I just felt it was worth mentioning.

I don't really have much more to say...overall, I think it is an excellent avatar.

First I'd like to thank Nein and Almasy for their critiques: I really appreciate them.

I did want to make one response to Almasy's critique of my current avatar: the border color was quite intentional; the reason it is that particular shade is because I intended it to match (as closely as possible) the borders present on these forums. While the match isn't exact, it's as close as I could get it.

Now, on to rating avatars...

I'll start with the quality, which is superb. There appears to be some slight grain on his chin, but you can only see that upon meticulous inspection, so I don't think it'd be fair to penalize the image for that.

The only problem with clarity is the background, I think; while it's certainly nice, you really don't know what it is (yet the impression I receive from the image is that there is something in the background; it's not random colors). Still, the focus of the avatar is the face, so again it wouldn't be just to penalize much for that.

I think the saturation is fine; the colors are crisp and vivid without being obnoxious.

Perhaps the biggest issue I have with the avatar is the bright spot in the far left; in my opinion, I don't think it does much to improve the avatar except to draw your attention to that particular edge. Of course, it is a nice effect, I just think it's a little too superfluous.

Overall, it's a very fine avatar.

I was working on another avatar (I just can't stop tweaking images right now ), so it'd be nice if I could get a rating for that one alongside my current one. I'm sorry for placing a burden on the next poster, but I'd really like some insight on these images, since I still haven't decided on this avatar's successor.

Actually, I'm pretty sure this one is going to be out of the running, but there might be someone who likes it (personally, I detest it)...

Well both are kind of.. well I don't really know a term for it, but I give the one you are using 8\10 and the other one a 8.5

As a note when I look at the wallpaper which has my Avatar on it, Kira Yamato is standing infront of the Freedom gundam, so the backround is in fact the freedom gundam.
