The PC Cookout Thread! Tentative 2005 date: 7/9

So...I can safely assume that this was a major success, right? Smile

Hmm...who here wants to do the party next year? (I might for the east coast...but I dunno)
Lady Tesser 07-12-2004 05:08 PM
*raises hand* I would LOVE to host the East Coast get-together next year. PCT and I will have a bigger place by then, so lots of room. Although I do have some things you must consider -

1. It's in Florida - way south (but we live practically down the street from the Space Center).
2. During the summer the humidity's in the 70-90% range with thunderstorms in the afternoons. Top it off with 85-90 degrees F, and a strong summer sun. Lots of shade will be provided, though, including a working A/C in the house. ^_^

If not my place for the East Coast Cookout, I'll host the Floridian Get-Together, then.
evanASF27 07-12-2004 05:10 PM
1) FLORIDA ROCKS
2) the plane ticket prices will kill me o.o ...I dunno if we'll pay that much to get to a party...(my parents pay, duh)

It was the most fun I've had in a long time. BabyGhia and Tony were great people to travel with.
Tony is a loon for driving the whole time.

"But I like to drive"

Yeah Yeah Yeah.

No promises here. But I think I may be able to host next years West coast event...if that's not stepping on anybody's shoes. Now to convince the non-anime watching husband of mine.

"But dear, now the weirdos will be at our house so you can keep an eye on them" Do you think it will work?
dominusofdeath 07-12-2004 05:12 PM
No offense but I can't stand Flordia. Too hot and sunny. And too expensive to fly there. But if I don't have summer school then I'd drive down there......
Lady Tesser 07-12-2004 05:15 PM
Well, for the most part, no one would have to stay in a hotel (depending on how many come). ^_^

If you look around the cheap ticket sites, you'll find rock-bottom priced flights to Florida during the summer. We'll even pick you up at Orlando Int'l, too. (I'm too generous and friendly for my own good, you know.)

I can also probably put in vacation time so you'll have me around to look after you delinquents (j/k - I love you all) for a couple of days. It can be a long weekend - starting on Friday and taking you back Tuesday.

And I better stop organizing everything before it's official. ^_^;

I'll have my license by then, so if it really happens in florida, id be more than willing to help pick people up from their respective airports, 2 are pretty close to me sarasota/bradenton airport, and ft myers, but anywhere is cool..ooo, i hope its in florida! it would be so much fun to meet everyone and a lot easier to get permission from the parental figures!

Same here. I haven't had that much fun in a while. Great roadtrip!

He's a loon I tell you! Like we didn't already know that.Wink But I did ask a couple of times if he wanted me to drive instead.

That would be cool for me. 45 minute drive instead! But seriously, I doesn't matter to me. It was worth it going up to Oregon. I had such a great time meeting everyone. And would really like to meet some more you at the next one.

Ya know... at the next cook out they NEED to have a fondue party. get some ham and some bread and some forks and we can REALLY have a party.
Tickle Tickle 07-12-2004 06:20 PM
Man, it looked like you guys had fun.

I'd like to go to any other future cookouts, but I'm afraid some other fellow PCFers will want my head >.>;;

Tell him that one of these crazy people has handcuffs and will definately use them if he doesn't oblige. (sp?) Evil Big Grin Tongue (just don't tell him that I ain't on the west coast)

I'm sure someone going to the West Coast BBQ could bring the handcuffs.

*everyone starts to stare at BabyGhia*

It's true! Someone could. Not me though. Those are for Roger and Roger only. Wink

do be careful though. This goes for anyone who wants to use handcuffs as a prop. I don't think it's legal for someone who isn't an officer to carry handcuffs...this is just what I heard, and it's most likely true. (even though you are probably kidding Babyghia, there are probably a few people actually thinking about doing it)
dominusofdeath 07-12-2004 07:50 PM
Maybe we could have a midwest one?
Someone say my place?
That is.....if we get that house we want.....

Yeah, it's not legal to counterfit money either, but you got to do what you got to do.

Also, I don't believe it's illegal to carry handcuffs. It's illegal to impersonate an officer of the law, though.

I just may be able to fly over to the East Coast party next year. It would all depend on who of my East Coast friends are going, if my mom converts her "maybe" to a "yes" and where it is, etc. If i went, my mom would probably have to go too though. But just maybe...! ^__^

I want to make a quick comment...

bring your friggin parents if they wanna come, don't let it ruin your cookout, though you may think that theyre invading and whatnot (im not saying this is the case always), they really are looking out for you. I wouldn't want my kid going to meet a bunch of random strangers! And maybe if they let you go once, they'll see your judgement is great, (good people here!) and then in future years they'll let you travel single!

We were very pleased to meet Liz's stepmom, Mage's dad, and Big Finale's father and grandmother. And they were glad to meet us as well.

Or, at least, they didn't flee right away.
Lady Tesser 07-13-2004 09:19 AM
Of course I don't mind parents calling/coming along! I'd be worried if I didn't get at least some calls ... and I understand parents coming 'just to make sure' as well (we can probably throw my mother at them - she'll keep 'em busy).

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are very concerning about sending their daughters down here because both are six-foot-tall teenage girls with rather mature figures and the parents are scared that the girls will be too much for PCT and I to handle because of the beach boys around here. (We can; just point to the ocean and say 'Look at that wave!' then run like hell.)

Gotta trust us, folks. We're very conservative when it comes to looking after the underaged and our friends. PCT may act silly, but he can switch to protective father mode pretty quick and you all know me.

I'll provide credentials to your parents as the time nears.

(Crude in a bucket - no one's even agreed to come down but I'm already planning it! Sorry! Embarrassed Sweatdrop )
