Season 3 Discussion

Valdoom 09-16-2006 05:27 PM
I'd love more Big O, but what exactally is season 3? is it like act 27-35 or like a new series that takes place after season 2 or is it like act 18-26?
Dharma_Infinity 09-16-2006 05:30 PM
I'd think it would pick up where season 2 left off, maybe there'd be more insight into what exactly happened 40 years ago. Also I was thinking that maybe the Union, or another group like the Union, would show up in Paradigm and start shooting up the place (happens all the time huh? Tongue )

I'd like to be a combo of the story styles from Seas 1 and 2. Where there would be standalone episodes and continued episodes. Of course some stuff explaining the Union and the rafters above the city would be nice.

One word: Schwarzwald.

Btw: Nice Kroenen sig Big Grin

....Another thread on season three. oi.

Well, if a thrid season is ever made, I want the first episode to be a public apology for season II's last few episodes. Then the rest they need to actually, explain something, and the usual jazz.

MOAR BIGS

Also, I'd like some more stuff on under the city, outside of the city, and Dastun's movie.

And you know? I don't really want anything explained; I think it would just end up being stupid and cheapen things. I just want more Big O awesomeness.

WAI MOAR.

But not too many. We still haven't gotten to see how Big Venus fights beyond invert+fade out yet, and I'd think she should take priority.

Yeah, this I feel. Both approaches have their ups and downs... I couldn't say which I liked more.

lol MOAR BIGs? Too many and the designation "Big" won't mean as much. Then you have to move on to "Giant" and "Gigantic" and finally "Hugemongous."

Hugemongous O! It's SHOW-TIME!

Yes, the world outside Paradigm must be more interesting than we are led to believe....

What else do you want? (ja ja, Dorothy giving Roger mouth-to-mouthRoll Eyes )

(PS - The Big Finale... which game is that Egghead from? He actually looks badass! Wow! Is it SSB Brawl?)

I WISH. Believe me, you cannot possibly understand how dead from sheer, utter glee I'd be if that was where it was from. It's from Sonic Next-Gen, for 360 and PS3 only.

Third time I've had to answer this question.

i would like to see schwartswald kick becks behind in one episode. alan gabriel returning would be nice, since he's a cyborg. a new villain. some swing music in the background. some brackground on norman. angel being experimented by a gordon to destroy vera. r.d.'s return.
Valdoom 09-16-2006 08:20 PM
I STILL HAVE YET TO BE ANWSERED! WHAT EXACTALLY IS THE DIFFERANCE IN SEASON 3!?!
ok I'm done ranting and raving...for now
Nazrael 09-16-2006 08:26 PM
There is no Season 3.
Big Money 09-16-2006 08:27 PM
You know how there's Big O season 1, Episodes 1-13?
And then there's Big O II, Episodes 14-26?

Well, a third season would be another season of 13 episodes.
Valdoom 09-16-2006 08:29 PM
OOOO...thank you...
I got confused and thought season 3 alredy existed but had not reached America or something...
ZeroKirbyX 09-16-2006 08:30 PM
Behemoth would be nice. See what it can do other than stand up. I wouldn't mind getting more info on Schwarzwald's stories, how he was imprinted on Big Duo, just why Big Duo was in the desert and such.
Nazrael 09-16-2006 08:34 PM
Behemoth esploded. Frown
paul1290 09-16-2006 08:35 PM
The behemoth really does need more screen time. It lasted for like 10 seconds or something.
Nazrael 09-16-2006 08:40 PM
Thing I don't get though...Is whether or not Vera was operating it. At first, I thought she jumps and activates a grenade, killing herself. But then Behemoth comes up and Vera's voice says a line. Then Behemoth gets hit by falling sky beams and she screams.
Dominus_of_Big_Boom 09-16-2006 08:48 PM
I would like to know more about the megadues in genral. Have Roger go outside the domes and find a wearhouse where Big O and Big Duo were made. Along with more on what happened 40 years ago. I would also like to know more on Archtype (Sorry if I spelled that wrong). For some reason it remonded me of Big Venus.
Big Big Moon 09-29-2006 09:38 PM
You know, I have to agree with Psygnosis. For some reason, Big O seems more complete without all the explanations. Conventional human history is built on the solid foundation of the past, a vast sea of information that we can comfortably fall back on for our identity and delve into for the sake of advancing further into the future. Big O is so unique because there is no past in Paradigm City. Everything as we know it is reversed: the world, instead of a united global community connected through constant streams of information via the Internet, is a sealed unit surrounded by infinite wastes. And unlike our world, it is impossible to investigate these wastes: there are no aircraft, for one thing, and social standards restrict exploration by means of wages and fear of the unknown. The only man who we absolutely know has seen the world outside Paradigm went completely insane, and likely perished in the wastes. Unlike our world, where the future is the great unknown and the past a constant comfort and reminder, Paradigm city has a certain, unavoidable future of an endless, possibly self-repeating paradigm built on wages and pre-destined jobs, while the past is completely, utterly void and inaccessible. Again, the only man who dared to explore this great truth died as a result and became a separate entity, obsessed with the past and exposing its terrible implications to a world that refused, out of fear or apathy, to listen. Unlike our world, where identities are self-made, the characters of Paradigm are (as was repeated ad nauseum) players on a stage (possibly in a very literal sense). Unlike our world, in which titans are bound by laws and precepts, the power of God is wielded by man and walks the earth as it pleases.

Thus lies the problem: once exposed to the truth, would we fans be willing to accept it? As Swarzwald predicted, would we avert our eyes from fear or disgust? Paradigm is in almost every sense a mirror of the current world we live in. I, for one, would rather not gaze too longingly for fear of spying something in myself, in our world, too terrible to imagine or explain. And perhaps that's the reason why there are so many mysteries in Paradigm: they simply can't be explained in 26 episodes. I think it's best they keep it that way. The Big O is an anime built on fear, confusion, and morbid curiosity. To remove all curiosity, expose us to an ending that we dread most, and clear the fog of confusion would rip the soul from the series and remove its charm.

In my mind, at least, it's far better to let my mind wander and find an explanation than have one spoon-fed to me. The Swarzwald monologues urged us to think and find the ultimate truth by our own designs. Why are you all so insistent on having the pages of Metropolis read to you when you, as a viewer, were probably never meant to read it? Whoever erased the memories of Paradigm likely did so for a very good reason. Perhaps they should stay that way.

Big O is complete in my eyes. Leave it alone.
