I still belive we will see Big O Season 3 one day. I just hope the ending (if it gets made) makes more sense than season two's ending and I REALLY hope they answer the question's from both season one and two, not make more questions/mysteries.

can we at least get a 4-7 part mini-series. Just so we know what the subplots with Dastun, Beck and Rosewater, and how Dorothy awoke factor in (That last one's easy but we need to see it upfront.).

I have not seen the ending. Ive been told it. Ive read it. I specualte it. Vol 4(Agressive Negotiations) is no where in any store ive ever been too. Paranioa keeps me from ordering it. But I do have one thing to say. The Big O is art, and the whole Doritos company. We need to do something Big(no pun intended) to get their attention. The Show Must Go On. Boycott....get together....SOMETHING!

We are doing something, today we send letters to Jim Samples demanding that we get another season of Big-O. I sent my letter earlier today. The Revolution will be televised.

OK! here is somehting very wierd! Tv Tome reports this:
| quote: |
February 19 , 2005
Series 3 of Big O has been confimed and will be airing on Toonami U.K in April |
I seriously think this is a mistake, misreading, or miscommunication... but he claims its only a UK exclusive:
I'm looking into it, and I sent an email to Toonami UK to dispell this rumor:

...for a second my heart stopped beating...then I saw that the source was TV Tome
I want to believe....however, TV Tome is so unreliable. Thanks for the update, Zop

EDIT: And wouldn't it take a little longer to get a animated series in production than only a month and a half? April's just around the corner...

Unfair to tease the masses like that. UK exclusive??? LOL! If that was true, I think we'd either all camp out at madclarinet's place or force him to duplicate a lot tapes.
I'm sure that is totally false. I hope they squash it quickly. Don't want that rumor to get around. Jeez. Unfair to torture us like that. Ack!

UK Exclusive? Toonami? TV Tome?
^_^ How men amuse themselves.
^ Assuming the person who started this was a guy, that is.

But, the UK didn't get season two did they? Maybe they meant two instead of three..

That's what I was thinking, too. But I don't think that someone would make a typo that big unless someone was trying to start something. If this is not a rumor, then maybe they're doing something like this, US = Season 2 and UK = Season 3. But that's kind of stupid if you ask me.....
And, Zop, they say that Big O has 13 episodes on the front page, but has all the episodes on the episode guide plus a so called episode 27 that is TBA. The only way to tell if this is true, is wait until the sugested date that it is said to debute accualy gets here.
Oh and I might as well post the IMDb thread on Season 3, since it wasn't posted and I just found it.....

Most probably, a Season 3 will come. Unless [Adult Swim] is having financial problems. Seeing that Trigun went before Big O and it keeps getting pushed around, maybe they do have problems. and eventually big o will be just pushed around until its gone. OR when enough money comes, a 3rd season will air, depending on how much pressure from the fans and a developing company who is ready and willing to go for it.

I think an OVA movie would be better.
The movie would consist of the events leading to Paradigm's construction, then the Megadei attack, then Big O fighting Duo and Fau..
*Shrugs.*
I'm sorry, its just a third season would be very boring because they more than likely would just go on with Roger fighting random mechs until Big Fau showed up again...

Maybe after a third or fourth season, going back and seeing the history of Paradigm would be interesting although having it unfold throughout the next seasons would be better.
But, in my opinion, a third season wouldn't be boring. Think of all the other things that are unanswered. And whose to say that fighting Big Fau would always come towards the end. There's more to the story. I don't think the writers would just make the show have random Megadeus fights and then here's Big Fau and the ending again. There is bound to be some kind of twist and just unfolding the mystery of Paradigm City some more.
Again, my opinion, I just don't really like the idea of a movie instead of a season three. I'm taking this from a post of mine from ASF:
| quote: |
If it was the only thing we'd get and a season three was out of the question, I'd take it. It's better than nothing.
But I'd prefer a season three. There is SO much more of the story to tell and I'm sure the writers can add to it.
A movie would just make them condense season three into a hour and a half which would be horrible. Let them take their time and further the story along in 13 or 26 more episodes. Series in the past that have had a movie to wrap everything up have always been rushed or boring or just horrible. I just don't want that to happen to Big O. The story is too good to be rushed. It's like fine wine (except for the fact that I don't like wine but it's just a saying so bare with me). The story needs to be savored and taken care of. No short cuts. |

But you see..
What would the season 3 consist of?
More megadei fighting...
Basically another rerun season...
Haven't you noticed that DBZ is like one HUGE rerun?
Nearly all the plots revolve around a super powerful evil, that requires another level to be achived...
Thus for 5 seasons, it was a huge rerun.
The only thing I liked about Season 1 of Big O was that is had great animation, Season 2 didn't.
In season 1 all of Roger's motions were seen, his jacket moved when he talked into his watch, in season 2 it didn't...(Just one example.)
The reason why I don't like season 1's plot is because it was largely random until Schwarzwald showed up.
Then we had a villain...But once Big Duo was obliterated, it got random again..
*Shakes head.*
Season 2 we had a villain, the Union, then Alex..
Season 3 would be the same as one only with different Megadei..
Seriously, if it isn't going to be a prequal(sp?) to "The Event"..It might as well be Season 1 all over again...
Honestly,
I'm putting this out to the people who read this..
What do you think season 3 of Big O, will consist of? (If it isn't a prequal(SP?))
If all you care about is animation and action you can't understand why we want a third season. The show is amazingly complex and very fun analyze, 'villians' or no. My favorite threads in Big O have internal conflict as an antagionist, ie Roger fretting over what it means to be human and what being a tomato means to his humanity.
I don't want a season three for more robot fighting robot action or to see who the next antagionist is, I just want enough information to be able to figure out this show. I'm not Chiaki J. Konaka so I don't know how he's going to work around the Paradigm reset. But he wrote it and he planned on having a third season when he did, for him the reset isn't a bind it's just one more brick on the road to uncovering the mysteries of Paradigm City.
And I just made a round about allusion to the yellow brick road. Lovely ::bangs head on table::

but isnt that why a lot of people like the Big O, since it has alot of random megadeus fighting (some of them look pretty cool) and are about roger's negotiations. "all plot and no play make jack a dull boy." (i just thought of that)

I think the battles add to the show if they are an extension of the story in a meaningfull way. You know add some more tension.
for example the battles in act 20/21 or the last few were pretty damn awesome, while alot of the early ones and say.... the act 19 one seemed kind of forced and lame.
Basically they don't have to force a battle in if the ep doesnt need one.

I'm sure that's why
some people like the show, but not all of them. I don't think the show was ever originally intended to just be another mecha show that dazzled audiences with fighting robots. I didn't start watching Big O for that reason, in fact, I wouldn't watch Big O at all at first
because I thought it was just a show full of random megadeus fighting. I think the mass appeal to the show is the storyline - I mean, sure, pretty colors and fast moving, fighting robots are neat, but they won't hold my interest and keep me coming back for more every single night. I think the megadeus battles are more of a supplement to the show to perhaps attract the mecha crowd, but it's real draw is in it's complex storyline.
