No, you arent the only one...Im here, however, I dont post my opinion out in the open. Personally, Im happy with Big O's ending, how it all fit together and concluded. If a third season came out, Im in the same boat with you 645, Id be there watching it, showing interest, discussing it, buying the DVDs, etc. However, Im not supporting the idea of a third season being necessary to fully complete the show.

At the same time, Im not against it either, if new stuff comes out, Ill be worried itll be butchered and wont fit, but at the same time Id watch. Cautiously optimistic would be my stance towards a new season.

No matter how much i would enjoy a season 3, i really dont think they could make one that would live uo to my expectations. Clockwork made a good season three, but i think they would need to hav more to make a succesful season 3 of big O.

Wait who will butcher it? Cartoon Network?

They haven't so far it seems, and I guess the concern that the a season won't feel right is justified, but consider season 2 was made a few years after the first and it still feels alright, (except for the animations, which wasn't anyones fault).

But I expect it to be different. Just as act 13 changed the dynamic of the show and led into the second season, act 26 DEFINATELY changed things up.

I thought it was officially announced that there would not be a season 3? Confused

With the success of the show on tv and sales of the dvd's you would think there is no reason, from a business stand point, for production of the series not to continue. However Cartoon Network feels otherwise. After contacting Bandi America's PR representative we sadly inform you that Big O season 3 is in fact not in production, despite what the many rumors out there claim, and no plans currently exist to continue the series on top of that. Its safe to say Cartoon Network is not interested in Co-Producing another season, they have already aired every episode in existence and if the high ratings the show got for the second season wasn't enough, then it will never happen.

Indeed. That doesn't mean that there isn't a fight for a Season 3.

1) No one ever officially annouced anything as far as I know. All they've said directly is that they have no plans to put anything into production. Which we already know.

2) This shouldn't be such a big deal either, season 1 ended and everyone thought it was gone forever, and it was 3 years before anyone saw a new episode of big o. Things change, fans stay.

I'm just pointing out what I read. and I think it took so long for season 2 because the first time around it didn't get very good ratings (they were targeting the wrong crowd IMO)

I'm also "just sayin".

Thats what Tv Tome says not CN.

The reason it took so long for season 2 was that big o started and ended in japan, with 13 episodes, they wanted more but they were not picked up.

It was later brought to the american audience on Cartoon Network through toonami (although heavily edited), and CN actually went through the trouble to co-produce an entirely new second season.

Again more episodes were offered, but CN declined for bussiness reasons.

So basicly all I'm looking for is someone to pay to bill.

r u talkin about season two episodes were offered, or CN was offered the opportunity to have season 3 of Big O, but decline because of a business related reason!

When Cartoon Network signed an agreement with Bandai to co-produce season 2, they put in an option for another 26 episodes beyond the 13 made. What those of us pushing for season 3 would like to see is Cartoon Network pick up that option, but they seem to feel that in-house comic animation (like Venture Brothers) is where they want to be.

im not a big fan of that show, but its quite popular so i could see how it was in their best intrest, but im still quite surprised they would pass up a thord season since it seemed to be such a hit everywhere else.

Thats kind of why we feel sort of shafted.

I know there are some people who are opposed to a third season, because they feel like the show is complete. I'm just wondering, would you be opposed to something else (like a movie) that would explain what in the heck was going on. Because that's the reason I want a third season--I don't want Big O to just end, and for no one to ever really understand what it was about.
Spooky 10-05-2004 01:26 AM
I would like a whole third season because I enjoy the show so much, however, I don't want the show to be dragged out and become stale just for the sake of having more episodes.

I wouldn't be opposed to a movie if it finished the story completely. The fan in me screams "MORE MORE MORE!" but I'll take quality over quantity anyday!

The head writer of BIG-O has dropped the link to savebigo.com and the big-o logo from his sidebar. Maybe it's because he's promoting something called Dark Fantasy Q with a new link related to it called: "About the Konaka script work". OR Perhaps he was under pressure by Sunrise who owns BIG-O, or thought our presentation was too avant garde...who can tell. He used to have "Do you to want to see 3rd?" on the site previously too, but that disappeared months ago.

Let's not give up the fight.

I wish we could get some new statements from him regarding BIG-O 3 though--his thoughts on it or something.

No biggie. The idea behind it is still there. He supported us!

Sidenote:

A lot of us have been giving Cartoon Network a hard time because they're not picking up their option for another season, but I think we should cut them some slack. They've recently brought us Full Metal Alchemist, Case Closed, Ghost in the Shell, and Read or Die. And it seems like they're trying to get us some other great anime stuff too--like the Inuyasha movie and the C.B. movie. Sometimes I wonder if they decided that instead of spending their money to make new stuff, they should try to aquire as much of the great anime that's all ready made as they can. So, instead of making them hate us by whining about what they won't do--how can we convince them that continuing Big O is something they want to do.

How do we do that?
