Hey, you know those tunnels that Big-O uses underground, it could be the 1 and 9 train lines. |
Or the 2,3,4,5,6, A,B,C,D trains. They all run up and down Manhattan. I'd probably guess against the A through D trains though because they're only the west side. However, they are a wider gauge and therefore would more readily support Big O. However, the 1,2,3,4,5,6,9 trains are all compatable with each other (same gauge) and run on both sides. Who knows. (Maybe the show was anticipating a Second Avenue Subway like we've been promised).
Anyway, because of the nature of Smith Mansion, I would hazard that it's on the East Side, because the East Side tends to have bigger, more fancy buildings.

it doesnt need the tunnels, remember when it crashed thru the wall of the tunnel and went off tthr track on its own.

it can't be the east side because on the other side is NY Hospital and I don't see any banks around there, (2) the 4.5.6. are narrow trains and smaller compare to the A.B.C.D.F.Q.R. which are bigger by adding 2 doors and wider and need bigger tunnels so Big-0 has to use the bigger lines but who knows what Paradigm Subway systems are different from NY subway lines they were probably change

Now I wish I stayed in New York instead of moving out to CA. Now I have no idea what any of you guys are talking about...

Hey I live in NY, tell me what which 72nd street Roger lives in and I will investigate the location, I think that he may live close by Riverside Drive I always drive by there anyway, |
Well, when I was in NYC last Sunday, I drove down West 72nd Street to Central Park. I may have missed something, but there didn't seem to be an appropriate building on the west side section; they were mostly brick apartment houses or hotels.
I then proceeded (lovely word, that) to East 72nd Street, found parking, and walked from the overlook above FDR Drive to Central Park. Although the buildings on this side were more in the style of the show (either light stone or concrete), there was no specific building that corresponded to Roger's mansion.
One problem is that the real blocks along East 72nd Street are about twice the length of the front face of Smith Mansion:
You can see that the block length of the street the building faces onto (which must be 72nd Street) is only about one building's width.
The other problem was that there are very few 8-story buildings (plus penthouse), for some reason. Lots of 5-6 story ones, and many ones much larger. If this building that was the model for Smith Mansion exists at all, it may have been replaced by another in the last ten years or so.
But in any case, I took pictures of the banks on East 72nd Street and will put them up when they are developed.
