who's up for a Big O RPG!!!!!!!

Lady Tesser 08-06-2003 04:38 PM
The smoke cleared somewhat as sirens of the military police blared in the distance.

Sister Bridget observed the blonde woman in sunglasses and tight suit making her way around the crater's edge. Crossing herself, she looks up to the cloudy skies of Paradigm City and murmurs, "Three seekers and two weirdos. When it rains, it pours."

Giving a frustrated grunt, and deciding that perhaps the weather was worse than she had intended it to be, Angel headed towards her car, yet again passing the woman and bumping purposely into her.

Not attempting to give into jealousy, Angel found herself almost needing
to know what the Negotiator and the mysterious woman were talking
about .. and why?

Schwarzwald pockets his deck of cards and stands up. He picks up the candle and begins to walk down deeper into the tunnel. He approaches a beam of light and looks up to see a streaking Beck above the sewer grate. He continues to walk while trying to lose his memory about what just happened...
Lady Tesser 08-06-2003 04:57 PM
"Oh, excuse me, child," the nun says, reaching a hand out to the woman's arm to steady her. "Are you all right? It's too dangerous around here to be wandering around like this."
The Fallen Phoenix 08-06-2003 05:02 PM
I'll take Norman, since no one else has taken the Butler as of yet. Big Grin

Norman walks through the dark halls of the bank-turned-mansion, until he reaches a locked door. He reaches into his pocket for a key, and quietly unlocks the door. A darkened set of stairs awaits him, and Norman clicks on a small flashlight as he begins his decent into the darkness...
R_Dorothied 08-06-2003 05:03 PM
Angel took the shock of the woman's voice and pushed her hand away.
"Excuse me, but I think I am able to take care of myself, 'Sister," she said snootily, casting an angst look at the woman's face.

"Apologising m'am. The day isn't starting out as well as I hoped. Though, mind you, I don't mean to prood, but, I'm Valerry Norfolk, I'm supposed to review this case, could you give me some background, and perhaps what the Negotiator, Roger Smith, as in this odd case?"

Angel grinned to herself, and licked her lips.
The Fallen Phoenix 08-06-2003 05:07 PM
Norman continues his decent into the unknown, step, by step, by step, with the narrow beam from his small flashlight guiding him forward. He wipes a small drop of sweat from his forehead, determined to keep a cool head for what he was about to do. He continued creeping down into the darkness, knowing full well the dangers if he did not succeed...
Lady Tesser 08-06-2003 05:15 PM
Taken aback by the woman's initial rudeness, the nun replies, "Apologies as well, Miss Norfolk. I am Sister Bridget of the Glass Cathedral, here for religious purposes. This was one of our 'satellite' churches, and I was asked to find a relic." Glances back at the crater. "Although I suppose there is no relic anymore considering the damage. As for Mr. Smith's involvement and motives, you may wish to ask him yourself, since he was here when the explosion occurred. I am only a nun, not an investigator like yourself, Miss Norfolk." She glances up as the sirens draw nearer, then looks back to the crater, chuckling grimly. "Strange how this little church gets more people now that it is gone."
The Big Omega 08-06-2003 05:20 PM
Roger stares at the crater, it's at least 20 meters deep. "Whoever planted that trap seriously didn't want anyone to find this relic...or maybe they wanted to destroy anyone searching for it," Roger muses to himself. He peers down the crater, there isn't anything down there. "I hope that relic was buried very deep." Then something catches Roger's eye, it is faint but he sees sunlight glinting off of something in the crater. "I think that I see something down there," Roger murmurs to himself. Roger taps a button on his watch and a line with a grapple at the end of it drops out. Roger then hooks the grapple to the front of the Griffon, he notices that paint job on the side of the Griffon that blocked the explosion is completely trashed, Roger makes a mental note to tell Norman to fix the Griffon when he gets home. Roger is so absorbed by what has happened that he hasn't noticed the arrival of Angel. He begins lowering himself down.

Meanwhile

Deeper still under Paradigm City the echoing foot steps stop. "I trust that the awakening is complete?" "Yes, now why have you brought me here? What is it about my creation?" A soft glow begins to issue out of the darkness revealing two people standing there. They are Robert Atkinson, and the strange man in the trench coat. The man in the trench coat has lowered the high collar enough for his face to be seen in the pale light, it is extremely pale and his eyes are a startling deep red. The glow is coming from a crystal held by the man in the trench coat, it is about the size a human hand and has many prisimatic extrusions. Robert gapes in awe, "But h-how, that's an energy prism, how could you find one after the cataclysm that took place forty years ago?!" "It was being kept in a cathedral, they believed it was a holy relic, they called it the relic of Maguffan, whatever that means. I took the opportunity to procure it after the cathedral was decimated in a Megadeus battle. I also planted a trap there to make sure anyone searching for it would meet a swift end. After all, the sacrifice of a hand of a piece of street trash is not much when it will lead to the ultimate resurection." The man in the trench coat smiles. "They'll probably just think it were those stupid Faith Wars."

Meanwhile

Back in the old building the man continues his work. He is still working on his project. He is wheezing, it seems that he is dieing. "mhu...must hurry....the legacy....the legacy....." The man makes a few final adjustments. "Puh-please let this work." The creation rises from the table, the sheet falls away from it. The old man stares at his creation. "you muh-must continue the legacy......stay away from the Paradigm at all costs..." The old man collapses, dead. The creation regards it's creator...

Angel nodded, swallowing nervously, and nodded as the nun walked away. She headed towards the crater, only to see Roger Smith himself lowering himself down into it.

"Getting your exercise, Mr. Negotiator?" Angel said sarcastically, crossing
her arms and looking down at him.

The minutes crawl by, as the old butler continues walking down the long, dark staircase. Sweat begins to trickle down the back of his neck, and the hand holding his flashlight begins to shake. Suddenly, he drops the flashlight, and the sound of it falling echos throughout the staircase. His heart pounding, Norman grabs hold of the right handrail with both hands, trying desperately to calm his nerves. After a few moments pass, the sound of a flashlight hitting the ground reaches Norman's ears as the only beacon of light in the otherwise dark staircase is extinguished. The old butler sighs, and he carefully resumes his trek down the staircase, sans the narrow, yet bright beam of light that was once his guide.

runs and hides behind some rocks and bushes to observe the event....in hopeing "he" is not found
Lady Tesser 08-06-2003 05:41 PM
A soft murmur of singing is heard through the Glass Cathedral, as the afternoon choir classes for the students is held in the main hall.

The nun makes her way into the smaller building attached to the cathedral, into the rectory of the Mother Superior. She knocks gently at the door, then opens it.

"Mother," she breathes, bowing her head in reverence.

The old woman behind the desk nods, her wrinkled face dry and craggy. "Sister Bridget, I take it you were unable to find the relic?"

"Not only the wreckage from the robots but also an explosion when I attempted to find it."

"Then it must have been stolen." The Mother Superior looked over the frames of her glasses. "I want you to go back there and look again. There were basements below the church and they may not have been affected. They are connected to the sewers - "

"Not the underground places!"

"Indeed, the underground places. There are those who think the relic is a power to be used to make their stupid political points! It's too dangerous to be in the hands of fools and madmen! You must find it, before the entire city is destoryed yet again."

"Again?" the young nun inquired.

The older woman clicked her tongue. "Go now, child. You're too young to be concerned with the concerns of the elderly."

Sister Bridget bowed and left the office, shutting the door quietly and leaning against it.

This was not what she had in mind when she joined the sisterhood.

The darkness begins to lift, as after several long and tiring minutes, the one-eyed butler finally reaches his destination. Norman opens the door at the bottom of the staircase, and walks into a room, just slightly less dark than the staircase he has just decended. Norman raises his hands and walks forward, in an attempt to keep himself from walking into something--or someone. After several steps forward, Norman feels the cool surface of the wall, and begins walking to his right, his hands remaining on the wall. Feeling around for a few moments, Norman finds the object of his quest. As he opens the dark black box with his left hand, the butler reaches into his right pocket for a small wire. After unpocketing it, Norman sticks the wire into a narrow tube. Suddenly, the entire room is bathed in a bright yellow light.

"Excellent. The electricity has been restored. Now, I must attend to Master Roger's dinner," the old butler says as he begins walking up the now lit staircase, only pausing to pick up the broken flashlight.
The Big Omega 08-06-2003 06:00 PM
Roger Smith looks up to see an all to familar face looking down at him. It is Angel and she's wearing a slightly perturbed look mixed with a bit of a pout. Roger sighs and reels himself back up the wall of the carter. "I was wondering if you'd show up, I guess that I let myself get a little too absorbed in my job. Okay, grab on. I've learned by now that it's pointless to try to stop you at something like this."

Meanwhile

The footsteps in the tunnels continue to echo. "You have realized by now that it will take three energy prisms to activate it. Plus you will need the others who participated in the project," says Robert "Of course, I know the locations of the two other energy prisms I need, and of your collegues as well," the man in the trench coat states as though it were completely obvious. "It's terribly rude that you haven't introduced yourself yet," Robert reprimands. "Well I suppose I have been very rude, for now, you may call me Meggido. Here we are, you will stay here until I can bring the other professors," says the newly dubbed Meggido gesturing to a small room that is filled with all the sorts of things you would expect to find in a house. Robert nods and walks into the room, Meggido continues down the tunnels. His eyebrows twitch, "Hmmm...it would seem that I may recieve some unwelcome guests..."

Norman quickly walks into the kitchen, and begins cooking Roger's dinner.

"Let's see now...Master Roger had Rigatoni yesterday...I believe tonight I will cook him a nice piece of Flank Steak," the butler mumbles as he grabs a piece of the said steak. Norman begins preparing the steak to be cooked when he realizes he has failed to make the proper repairs to Big O.

"Good heavens, how could I forget that? Especially with Master Roger working on a new case today. I must be getting old..." the butler exclaims as he rushes out of the kitchen. Norman quickly traverses the narrow hallways until he reaches a staircase. He unpockets his key and places it into the lock, and rushes down the stairs while closing the door behind him.

"I only hope Miss Dorothy finished dusting Master Roger's room...I really do wish I knew what was the cause of the power failure. It put me back almost an hour as I attempted to rectify the problem!" Norman mumbles as he reaches the bottom the staircase. As he steps off the final stair, he stares up at the giangantic figure of Big O, resting quietly in the underground hanger. The Butler rushes to the control panel in order to asses the status of the Megadeus. He realizes that it does not have any missiles left, and that it only has enough ammunition for three rounds of bullets. Norman sighs as he prepares to get to work, silently praying that Roger Smith will have no use for his Megadeus tonight.

Meanwhile, completely unbeknownst to the old butler, a dark figure creeps up from an open staircase, holding a severed wire in its hand.

Schwarzwald continues walking down the tunnel towards an unknown point. His "memories" tell him that something important is this way. He wonders what his memories could be leading him to when all the sudden BECK jumps down and sprays him with Orange paint, or something...

Schwarzwald falls into a deep dark hole and hits his head on a rock...thus killing him and sending him into a deep memory state thing.
