who's up for a Big O RPG!!!!!!!

The Big Omega 09-17-2003 07:41 PM
Roger stared in horror. It couldn’t be possible, it just couldn’t be. But it was, the abominable amalgam of Big Duo and Big Fau was back in perfect condition. The cruel voice boomed from nowhere and yet from everywhere…

Roger tightened his face in grim resolve. “You say that emotions are useless? They aren’t! I won’t let you destroy this world for your own twisted ideals! Big O!” Roger pulled back on the control sticks; Dorothy’s hands still clung to them even though she was unconscious. He pushed his feet onto the pedals and Big O charged. “Emotions are what makes us who we are! Everyone has them! Humans and androids alike! I won’t let you judge this world!” Big O swung its two blades downward and cleaved both of Purgatory’s arms off before it even had a chance to strike. How is it that one who gives into his emotions can wield such power? Big O stabbed both of the white blades into Purgatory. “It’s time for you to return to Hell! An abomination such as yourself never should have been granted life!” Both of the blades tore through Purgatory, alternately up and down. The monstrous Megadeus was severed straight down the middle. Its two halves fell to the ground…

Fool…your emotions cloud your judgment…Purgatory cannot be destroyed so easily. It is the ultimate chariot of God, wielded by the ultimate judge. I will show you the truth! Before both halves of Purgatory could even hit the ground wires sprung from them and the arms. They interlaced and locked together, making the monstrosity whole once more… Roger gasped in horror. Your emotions make you weak, you cannot possibly defeat me! Purgatory activated both of the weapons on its arms and rammed them into Big O.

The black Megadeus fell to the ground. Purgatory rammed the buzz saw and spinning blade deeper into Big O’s body. Roger’s eyes widened in horror. Dorothy fell off of his lap, her hands no longer gripping the controls. The blade control sticks slipped out of Roger’s hands and were replaced by the normal ones. Big O’s two white blades slid back into its arms. “But what…How?” You have no chance with your emotions. Sacrifice yourself now…be the first to give up your emotions and ascend to perfection like myself! Merge your chariot with mine… Damage warnings lit up on Big O’s monitor, damage was reaching critical levels! Roger shouted, “I’m not going to give up to you! You are a deluded madman, I won’t give in!” Big O slammed both of its fists forward, grabbing Purgatory’s two heads. “Time for you to die!” Both of Big O’s pistons slammed back and then forward.

Explosions, the sound of armor ripping. Purgatory’s body stumbled back, receding from its attack on Big O. “Let’s see how you can do without any heads!” Big O rose from the ground and tightened its grip on the heads of Big Fau and Big Duo, crushing them to bits. Purgatory continued to stumble backwards. It toppled over to the ground. “Now, time to get rid of the rest of you. Goodbye!” Big O raised both arms up vertically and charged red energy in its forehead. It then slammed both fists together and unleashed the Chromebuster. The blast of laser ripped the body of Purgatory apart, leaving nothing but two sections.

Idiot…you cannot defeat me with your weak emotions! I am far above all of this! I am far above you and the black chariot! Prepare to become one with Purgatory! More wires came from Purgatory’s body and linked it back together again. More still gathered the fragments of heads and rebuilt them. Purgatory stood tall, ready to continue the battle. “There’s…no way…there’s no way that I can beat this thing…” Roger gasped in defeat. That’s right you human fool…there is no way that you can possibly defeat me!

Roger’s body shuddered in fear and terror. A sense of overwhelming hopelessness washed over him. Purgatory was too powerful, he couldn’t beat it. Yes…give up. You have no chance. Give up your foolish emotions and ascend! Roger hung his head in defeat, letting go of the controls of Big O. Purgatory brought back its left arm, Big Duo’s, and rammed it forward. The claws barely pierced through Big O’s cockpit glass. It removed the claws and wires from its body began to snake in. Roger had given up on it all, completely oblivious to everything that was transpiring. Dorothy lay in the corner of the cockpit, completely unconscious from her exhaustion…

:: Dorothy was curled up in the corner of the cockpit, fast asleep with a grin on her face, enjoying her dream. ::

:: There she stood on the balcony. Roger was at her right, her cup of coffee on the railing, enjoying the early-morning breeze and watching the sunrise. A beautiful orange-pink glow was slowly spreading over rooftops and streets as the sun rose. Dorothy let the wind blow through her short hair. How early was it? It didn't matter. Was Roger pissed because she woke him up with the piano? It didn't look like it. What was for breakfast? Well, she did have coffee. Did she finish all her chores? Who cares. It's Normans job anyway. How did she look that morning? Well, since Roger wasn't laughing his ass off, it didn't matter to her. How long have they been standing there? That didn't matter. How long would they be standing there? Well, she would have to wait and see. ::

:: Everything seemed to be perfect. When she found something to worry about, an answer seemed to clear it up instantly. Everything was absolutely positively perfect. She grinned to herself and sipped from her coffee. Did she add cream? Didn't matter. She wasn't choking, was she? ::

:: It all seemed to good to be true. It had to end sometime. Dorothy took another sip of her coffee. ::

:: Then, a shooting pain struck at her leg. Owe! What the hell was that! Then, her head was violently jerked to the left. Almost as if something had hit it. Dorothy forced her eyes open. ::

:: A strangely yellowed piece of glass was embedded in her leg. A piece of rusty debris lay above her head. She figured that dream was to good to be true. She looked at the cockpit window...or at least what was left of it. The shard of glass in her leg was part of it. ::

:: Dorothy stood up, trying to ingore the shooting pain in her leg or the fact that everything was spinning quickly clockwise. She looked to Big O's captain's chair. ::

:: Roger's gloved hand slid down the control stick and onto his lap. His head fell onto his neck and Dorothy could hear him moaning. It sounded much like 'I cannot win this one.' Then, when Dorothy thought it couldn't get worse, wires as thick as a human arm broke through the shattered window. ::

"Not today!" Dorothy yelled.

:: She ran beside one of them and kicked them outside. It was a good thing she still had her android stregnth, but everything was still spinning. Another one came at her. She dived at it, grabbed it in both hands, and gave it a mighty thrust back outside. Her cut hand started to hurt her again, but Dorothy didn't have time to worry about it. She seized another wire and thrust it out. ::

"Roger! Snap out of it!" She yelled.

:: He looked up at her. Then, he was hit with a piece of debris and his head was jerked backwards. Yet, he looked at her, sadness reflecting in his eyes. ::

"What can I do. I can't win this." He said, looking down again.

:: Dorothy did certainly not have time for this. She gave an outward crescent kick, throwing another one of the thick undead wires out of Big O. It looked like they were aiming for something. Roger, her, Big O, whatever it was, it was putting up a good fight. ::

"You can take control. You have to take control. Take control now! C'MON!" Dorothy yelled.

:: Her eyes widened and she hit the floor as one of the wires came for her. Apparently now, they were going for her, in an attempt to stop her from ruining the plans. Roger, without making an effort to look up, sighed and shook his head back and forth. Dorothy screamed angily and threw herself to her feet. ::

"SNAP THE HELL OUT OF IT!" Dorothy yelled.

:: She pulled an unlabeled PG13 tape out of her pocket, took two-second aim, and threw it. Score! She hit Roger right between the eyes. He yelled in pain and grabbed his head. ::

"What the hell was that for!" He yelled, seizing the tape, slamming it angrily on the monitor, and standing up defiantly.

:: Dorothy delivered a roundhouse kick to another wire, expelling it from Big O. ::

"Are you snapped out of it yet? You have to take control! C'mon Roger! You can do this! You haven't lost this! No pressure or anything-"

:: She thrust another wire out and started running toward Roger. ::

"-but if you lose this, you lose Big O!"

:: She threw her arms around Rogers neck, trying hard to encourage him."

"Paradigm needs you."

:: Roger looked at her. ::

" I need you. Get going!"

:: Suddenly, one of the wires wrapped itself tightly around Dorothy's waist and pulled her about two feet away from Roger. ::

"DAMNIT! THIS JUST ISN'T MY DAY!" Dorothy yelled to herself.

:: Roger made a lunge for her, but the undead wire had already pulled her out of Big O. ::

"I'll do what I can! I lov-"

:: Dorothy was then violently yanked inside the Purgatory. ::

:: Now, she felt true sadness. She had done all she could and everything was up to Roger. She grabbed at her head as she was pulled up. Thinking it might somehow weaken the megadeuce, she clung onto a thick wire as thick as Roger was. The one that had a grip on her pulled, but Dorothy was stronger than that. She wasn't letting go. ::

:: Then, she opened her eyes. The wire, which was wrapped in a protective coating, was labeled 'Power source.' Seeing this, Dorothy's eyes immediately widened and she wrapped her legs around it and tighten her grip in her arms. ::

:: Still, the undead wire at her stomache continued to pull at her stomache. ::

:: It was now or never. Dorothy braced herself and summoned her stregnth. ::

“No!” shouted Roger as Dorothy was yanked violently out of Big O. “I’ll do what I can! I love you!” he shouted. But it was too late. Dorothy was yanked inside of the Purgatory. Roger clenched his fist in unbridled hatred. “You…You…Let her GO!” Your grief over this woman…you had been ready to ascend but she has ruined it all. Ascend now! Give up! You cannot win! “I can sure a hell try to!” Roger retorted. Your emotions make you weak! “No! My emotions do not make me weak! They give me strength! The strength I need to save Dorothy and to destroy you!”

(Begin playing Sure Promise)

The area of armor that had opened so that Purgatory could devour Dorothy closed up as the last wire receded into it. You will not destroy me. I will pass my judgment upon these humans and upon this world! Now prepare to die! Roger gripped at the control sticks for Big O. He knew that this was a hopeless fight. He knew that he had no chance to defeat Purgatory if each time it could rebuild itself. But he had to try. He had to save Dorothy from the clutches of that foul abomination! “Dorothy! You listen here! I’m not giving up anymore! I’ll save you and hurl this monstrosity back to Hell!”

Big O pulled back both of its arms and slammed back the pistons, ready to fight once more. Purgatory began to charge straight at Big O, both of the tentacle laser blasters on its back rose up and readied for fire. Two quick explosions, both of the tentacle lasers fell to the ground, severed by blue lasers from Big O’s eyes. Damn you! Give up again! No matter what you do Purgatory will restore itself! The wires began to snake out of the tentacles to rejoin the cannons. But Purgatory’s restoration was brought to a swift end as Big O slammed both arms into its chest. “I’ll stop you any way I can!” The pistons slammed forward and two gigantic holes were blown through Purgatory’s chest. Just for good measure Roger grabbed the heads of the falling Megadeus and ripped both of them off. “Can you rebuild something if you can’t find it with those precious wires?” Big O hurled both heads in opposite directions.

Dorothy held tight onto the large wire. Her arms and legs felt like they were going to be ripped off but she didn’t let go. It was painful, but she wouldn’t give up. Just like Roger now, she refused to yield to Purgatory. Dorothy struggled to keep her eyes open, hoping to see a tear rip in the ‘power source’ wire. Suddenly the entire Megadeus began to shake violently and just three meters above her head Dorothy saw two holes blown straight through Purgatory’s chest. Dorothy smiled in spite of herself. Roger wasn’t going to give up! “Come on Roger, you can do this!”

Purgatory toppled over and landed on its back. The decapitated Megadeus raised both arms up in a pitiful attempt to stave off Big O’s onslaught. Big O grabbed onto the right arm and ripped it right off of Purgatory. Then to add insult to injury Roger smashed the left arm with the right. How can you have such power if you constantly give into your emotions? How can the Dominus be so much greater? The tendrils began to snake out of Purgatory again, searching for their respective parts. Purgatory began to rise, as it was once more repaired and reborn. “You never give up either, do you?” More tendrils snaked out after the heads. Roger smirked a little, he had just gotten a great plan. Two chained blades shot out of Big O’s hips and stuck into the heads of Big Fau and Big Duo as the wires grabbed them. The wires strained as Big O began to retract the chains…

Dorothy still clung on tight to the ‘power source’ wire. More wires had left Purgatory with the task to repair the Megadeus. She strained with all of her strength. “I can’t let you keep on doing this, Roger. You’re going to get hurt!” Suddenly there was the sound of a small rip, like that of fabric. Dorothy looked down at the wire that she had been holding onto. Sure enough, there was a small tear in the covering, and it was quickly beginning to widen. Dorothy smiled, “Your time is up, Purgatory.” It snapped…

Purgatory’s wires strained to get the heads from the grip of Big O’s harpoons. It began to charge at the black Megadeus. Began to pull back Big O. “I think that it’s time that you were decapitated for good!” Big O’s chains began to pull even harder and wires began to snap. Both of the heads were torn free form the wires and went sailing as Big O severed the chains. Damn you…how could you have thought of such a plan? But before Roger could answer an explosion blew out of Purgatory’s side. Sparks began to fly from the headless Megadeus. No…what is this? It cannot be! Roger smiled a little, “Good job, Dorothy! Big O! Let’s finish this!”

Big O began to charge straight at the dying Purgatory. This cannot be! I am the greatest of the chariots of God! One who gives in to his emotions so readily cannot defeat me! Purgatory punched at Big O’s cockpit with the Big Fau arm, but it was met with Big O’s arm shields. The fist was shoved forward and the buzz saw was activated but the arm exploded before it could do any more damage. The two laser cannons receded back into Big O’s shoulders. “You’re finished for good!” No…I cannot be finished! Even if the Purgatory fails me I can still take the black chariot! Say goodbye to your memories! Wires began to flood out of Purgatory’s body…

(Change music to The Great)

Dorothy was released from the wire that had been holding her. She was dropped several meters before she landed on a solid surface. She looked around as every wire within Purgatory began to burst outwards. What was it doing? Dorothy didn’t know but she had a bad felling that it was trying to do something horrible…

The wires from Purgatory’s body began to wrap together and formed one gigantic tentacle. This tentacle flew straight at Big O’s cockpit. Roger gasped in surprise and tried to pull Big O out of the way in time, but it was too late. The tentacle slammed through what little was left of Big O’s cockpit glass and then broke apart into many wires. The wires flew in every which direction, they locked into every control and light within Big O’s cockpit. Several flew straight at Roger. He barely jumped out of his chair in time to dodge them. Now…Black Chariot…become one with me!

Big O’s monitor display lit up. Cast in the Name of God…Ye not Guilty. The wires began to pulsate as though they were the veins of a living creature. Roger rolled away just as several wires tried to strike him. Yes! The black chariot of God shall become one with me as well! An Eye for an Eye. What…what is this! Roger looked at the monitor in surprise, it seemed as though something from Big O was speaking to Purgatory… You are about to face your end. Quite an ironic twist. The wires began to pulsate even quicker and thrash around wildly. Roger dove to avoid several that were thrashing extremely violently near him. Suddenly the wires broke off and flew back into Purgatory. No! This cannot be! There cannot be another like myself! This cannot be happening! Purgatory…do not fail me! We must judge the world…

(end music)

Purgatory began to stumble backwards, then it suddenly began to hold still, rigid as a statue. Roger sat back in the piloting chair of Big O. “What the hell was that?” He looked at the Purgatory, it was still as a stone. “Time to get Dorothy back!” Big O pulled back its right fist and punched into Purgatory’s chest. The Megadeus didn’t respond at all. It didn’t respond as Big O grabbed into the dent left behind with both fists and tore off the armor.

Dorothy struggled to keep her balance as the Purgatory began to lurch around wildly. The wires flew back inside of it. She could hear the booming voice form Purgatory, it was shrieking as though it were in pain. Suddenly it all stopped, Purgatory began to hold completely still. Dorothy looked around its insides. Then a large dent was smashed into the armor right in front of her. Dorothy smiled as she saw the armor torn away and daylight streamed in. Roger certainly knew how to make an entrance.

Roger pushed lightly on the control stick and Big O moved one of its hands into the gapping hole in the body of Purgatory. He stepped out of what little was left of the cockpit glass and shot the grapple from his watch. He used it to swing over to Dorothy and landed next to her in Purgatory’s innards. Dorothy smiled at him, “Very well done, Roger. I think that we’ve killed it for good.” Roger grinned a little himself, “Yeah, I think that this Purgatory is gone. Let’s get out of here.” Dorothy grabbed onto Roger as he shot the grapple from the watch to Big O and began to reel them into the cockpit.

Dorothy sat in Roger’s lap in Big O. She was happy now to be back with Roger and out of that wretched machine. They both seemed to have decided not to pursue any questions as to what the other had done. “You’re hurt,” Roger observed. “Yeah, a little,” Dorothy said, looking at her bleeding leg and hands. “We need to get them bandaged up when we get home. And thanks for saving me from myself.” Dorothy smiled some more and laid her head against Roger’s chest. This…isn’t over…

It rose once more. Out of defeat, out of the ashes of its demise. Like the Phoenix it was reborn. The remains of Purgatory’s body brought itself to its feet. The wires reached out once more, rebuilding the monstrosity. I…I…I may be weak…I…may be nearly gone…but I refuse to lose to one who gives into his emotions so easily…join me in death…black chariot!

Roger piloted Big O around. There it stood once more. Purgatory was repairing itself once again. Dorothy gasped, Roger gritted his teeth and suppressed a growl of rage. “When will this thing finally die?” he shouted. Dorothy began to whimper, she hugged up against Roger tighter. “Dorothy…” Roger murmured thoughtfully, “Don’t worry! I won’t let that thing get you again! I promise that I’ll destroy it for good this time!”

(begin playing Sure Promise)

Purgatory was fully rebuilt, heads and all. It took one step forward, then another. Each step however seemed to take the monstrosity a tremendous amount of effort. It raised the arm of Big Duo shakily. You…I will drag you down to hell with me! Purgatory took several more steps. Cracks arced down its armor, the Megadeus could barely hold itself together, much more be capable of fighting! “I see now!” yelled Roger. “You’re just a pitiful zombie fighting to hold onto life! I think that it’s time that you died for good!” Purgatory took several more steps. It was barely holding itself together, after each step the cracks arcing through the Megadeus’s armor opened, revealing that only the wires were holding it together, and then barely so.

“Don’t be afraid of it anymore, Dorothy!” Roger shouted, “I won’t let it do anything else to you! I’m going to cast it back down to Hell for good!” I will not allow myself to be defeated by a mere human and circumstance! The black chariot must be mine! Roger narrowed his eyes. “I’m going to end this now. Your time has come to an end!” Dorothy felt inspired by Roger’s bravery, if he was going to do this then she should as well. “I’ll help you, Roger…I know that you can’t do this without me…”

Dorothy laid her hands upon Big O’s control sticks along with Roger’s. Big O’s monitor began to glow… Soul Deleter. Both control sticks retracted, but unlike before now new ones replaced them. Roger and Dorothy laid their hands upon two half spheres, together they pulled them all of the way back… I refuse to die! I refuse to allow my judgment to be halted so easily! Big O retracted both of its arms. The arms opened and the hands retracted inside of them, turning the arms into large cannons. Around Big O’s waist ten triangular blades extended. What…what is this? This…this is not the black chariot! What…what is this? The black chariot never had such power! All ten of the chained blades were fired into the ground.

Purgatory feebly raised up both arms as it tried to charge, one final act of desperation by the mind of an insane man. “Time for you to go back to Hell for good!” Shouted Roger as he and Dorothy brought the two half-spheres forward. “Soul Deleter…” Dorothy softly mumbled. Big O brought both of its arms forward. Two spiraling crystal-blue blasts of energy were shot from the cannons. They began to fly towards Purgatory at an angle. The two blasts joined together mere seconds from striking Purgatory. They merged into a single, spinning, double helix blast…

No…it’s impossible! There is no way that the black chariot can be this powerful! The blast enveloped Purgatory. All of the dreaded abomination was absorbed in the blast. The force of the shot would have sent Big O flying were it not for the grounding of teh chain blades. Slowly the energy began to dissipate from Big O’s arms and the double helix blast was brought to a close. As the last beam of energy washed over the area that Purgatory had been standing the extent of its destruction was revealed, there was nothing left. Not even a charred scrap of armor. Roger’s hands slipped off of the two half spheres, so did Dorothy’s. Purgatory was gone for absolute certainty. Roger smiled and grabbed Big O’s control sticks as they came back up, “Let’s go home, Dorothy.” “Yes, I would like to very much.” Big O stomped its foot into the ground and slowly began to sink down.

Angel stared in amazement from Roger’s balcony. She watched with her own eyes as Big O, that black Megadeus, vaporized that thing made from the other two Bigs in a single attack. “Very impressive,” came a familiar voice behind her. Angel turned around and looked at Isaac. “Very impressive? What do you mean by that?” she asked. Isaac almost smiled, “They have successfully unlocked the some of the power of the Nightingale.” Angel was about to pursue the question further but then something caught her eye…there, several blocks away from the devastation…a two red balloons tied together rose. Angel nearly had a heart attack. It couldn’t be, Kalisto couldn’t be here…

Alex Rosewater clapped his hands. “Bravo, Roger Smith. Bravo.” Alan Gabriel chuckled a little. “It’s too bad though,” Alan said, “That you had to sacrifice Big Fau and Big Duo in order to bring the plans to fruition.” Nonsense,” Rosewater answered, “They were merely plagiarisms of Alpha. It was like throwing away old toys but letting a child have some rough fun with them first.” Alan nodded at Rosewater’s words but his attention was directed elsewhere, particularly at two red balloons rising near the devastation…

:: Eventually, Dorothy and Roger arrived home. It was about eleven o'clock at night and she was very tired, but she had some questions that needed answered before she even considered tucking in for the night. ::

:: She leapt out of Big O, landing lightly on the catwalk. Then, she buckled down to her knees when she felt pain again. This pain thing was something to get used to. She slowly stood up, hoping the pain would lessen. Roger appeared behind her. He to was stumbling a bit. ::

"Your going to trip in a minute if your not careful." Dorothy said.

"Yeah, well, I feel like I got hit in the head a few times." Roger said. "All I remember is something grey hitting me in the forehead, and something black and square hitting me between the eyes."

((( Begin playing Evolution )))

:: Dorothy let Roger go ahead of her. Then, she looked down at the tape in her pocket. She knew that thing would come in handy, and luckily she had grabbed it as soon as Big O started to descend. Dorothy resisted the urge to laugh and caught up with Roger on the catwalk. ::

"I still don't understand." Dorothy started. "I've never seen Big O perform at that caliber before, at least not that I remember. And then there's the spy. Not the one that was looking up my dress, which I don't understand either, but the one who died telling me I was a nightingale. Did I do something tonight?"

:: Roger was confused. ::

"Sorry Dorothy, but I'll have to answer when my head stops hurting." He said.

:: He stumbled a bit more. Twice, Dorothy had to grab him to keep him from falling over the railing or from falling over, and by the time the catwalk ended, Roger had his arm around Dorothy to keep himself from falling off. ::

"We should take care of your head." Dorothy said.

"No." Roger said. "You first."

"No. We'll fix your head and you can tell me everything while your bandaging me up."

:: So, Dorothy half-carried half-dragged him inside. Neither of them were seriously injured, but both needed a little patching up here and there. Dorothy had a cut in her leg and hand, and everything was spinning. She felt like she was going to fall over. She wanted to lie down. So, Dorothy made note to lie down as soon as she had taken care of Roger. Sleep was good. ::

:: Dorothy beckoned to a stool at the kitchen bar. ::

"Sit." She simply said.

:: Roger reluctantly sat, removed his coat, and threw it in the corner. Dorothy came over with a white box under her arm, set it on the counter, and opened it. ::

"I didn't think you did to badly on this one, Roger." Dorothy said as she searched for an ice pack.

"I wouldn't remember. I feel like I got hit on the head." He said, leaning against the counter behind him.

"Imagine that." Dorothy said, trying not to laugh. But, she let a snigger escape.

"Whats so funny?" Roger asked.

"Nothing. Just...thinking. That bump on your head was sort of my fault, you see." She said, walking beside him and firmly pressing the ice pack to his head.

"Well, nice of you to take care of me then...I suppose." Roger said.

:: Dorothy could have sworn he was slightly cross-eyed. She had after all hit him with a hard object in the head. She sighed and laid an arm on his shoulder. ::

"That, and it's my job to take care of you." Dorothy said.

:: Roger looked up at her. He had to look up. She was holding the ice pack on his forehead and gently, slowly, rubbing his back with her fingertips of the other hand. Dorothy smiled at him. ::

"Any other little injuries?"
The Big Omega 09-27-2003 04:18 PM
“Any other little injuries?” Dorothy asked as she smiled at him. “Nope,” said Roger. He reached back and took Dorothy’s hand away from rubbing his back. “But I think that you might have the roles reversed. It’s my job to take care of you.” Dorothy frowned at this comment a little. “Do you think that I can’t take care of you or myself?” she asked somewhat indignantly. Roger chuckled at her a little, “No, no. You can take care of yourself and me as much as you want. But don’t forget, had originally hired me to protect you, and I never quit a job.” Dorothy laughed a little, “I suppose that you’re right.” She reached into the medical kit and extracted a roll of bandages. She wrapped them around Roger’s head to hold on the icepack. “Now it’s my turn to do you,” said Roger.

Dorothy sat herself on the counter that Roger had been leaning against. Roger pulled off her right stocking so that he could get a better look at her wound. Dorothy winced a little. Roger examined her leg. “So, how is it?” she asked. “It doesn’t look too bad,” Roger commented. “It’s slashed up a little and there’s some glass stuck in it but you’ll be fine.” He grabbed a pair of tweezers from the medical kit and plucked out the shards of glass. Dorothy winced as the glass was plucked out of her leg and fresh blood began to trickle out. “You alright?” Roger asked. “Yes, I’m fine. Pain is just something I’m not particularly used to,” Dorothy responded. “That’s alright, I’m going to bandage and clean the wound now. Be prepared, this is going to hurt some,” Roger told her. She nodded her head. Roger put up the tweezers and pulled out a gauze pad, some medical tape, and a bottle of alcohol. He also grabbed a clean rag. Roger poured some alcohol onto the rag and pressed it up against Dorothy’s injury. “Ouch!” yelped Dorothy, pulling back her leg and curling up her toes. “That stings!” Roger sighed and shrugged his shoulders a bit, “What else do you want me to do? I have to clean your wound, otherwise it’ll get infected and that will hurt even more.” Dorothy sighed a little and nodded her head again, allowing Roger to get at her injured leg again. Roger rubbed the rag against the wound a softly as he could while still cleaning it, it started bleed more freely again. Dorothy sucked in air and held her breath, trying not to whine at the sting. Roger placed the gauze over the injury and tapped it on with the medical tape.

“There you go,” said Roger. He patted at the now bandaged wound. Dorothy smiled, “Thanks.” “Now for your hands…” Dorothy sighed and showed Roger her hand that was cut by the knife earlier. The wound there looked fairly nasty, it was showing some signs of infections. The finger was caked in some dried blood. Both hands were covered in small nicks and scratches from grabbing Purgatory’s wires. “Your knife wound will need to be bandaged, but the little cuts just need to be cleaned,” Roger explained. Dorothy nodded her head again and sucked in her breath. Roger picked up a new rag and poured alcohol on it, with it he began to clean the cut on Dorothy’s finger. She winced a little but this time she didn’t let out a peep. Roger pulled a band-aid out of the medical kit and wrapped it around Dorothy’s finger. He then proceeded to rub the alcohol rag over the rest of Dorothy’s hands. Dorothy smiled, “Thank you, Roger.” Roger smiled a little, “You’re welcome. Do your wounds still hurt?” Dorothy raised an eyebrow at him, “Yes, they still hurt a little. Why do you ask?” But Dorothy got her answer when Roger kissed the bandage on her finger. Dorothy blushed a little and smiled, “Why did you do that?” Roger chuckled a little, “I’ve heard that kissing the wounds of someone you love is supposed to help them heal.” “Dorothy pondered on this for a moment, then she pulled off the strip of cloth that held the icepack onto Roger forehead and kissed him on the bump there. She then wrapped the icepack back onto Roger’s bump. Dorothy giggled and pulled off her other stocking, twiddling her toes. “Let’s go and see if we can find Isaac now, I’d like to get an explanation.” Roger nodded his head, seconding her idea. Dorothy slipped off of the counter and walked out of the kitchen with Roger.

Angel slowly opened her eyes…everything here was dark. Dark…so dark… “Heh, it appears as though our treacherous little kitty is awake now, Agent 1.” Angel was barely conscious, what had happened? Angel didn’t know, all she could remember was a man with an evil clown face laughing. “Ugh…what’s happening?”

::"Weeping for" plays and shots of dead many bodies in the paradigm co building are shown and R-D walks in from an elevator... with a gun held high::

Rosewater: (staring out the window) hmph... so... you have come to kill me?
R-D: You know... and have done too much rosewater... you have killed my master... and you have killed many others in the process... you have mudered souls of them... the ones that could have spared your life...
Rosewater: *smirk* fau and duo were nothing to me...
R-D: You know the power they had... you could have just left them free...
Rosewater: you still don't see do you... the beam of light that came from the ground... it WAS the power of god... *greater smirk*... or.... what remains of it....
Gabrial: hehehe...

Angel hung lifelessly in the darkness, mumbling inaudible words under her breath. She was far too disoriented to even focus, and simply bobbed her head back and forth in a childish manner. Her entire body was weak, especially her arms and legs, which retained almost no feeling to them. The world around her was black, cold, and devoid of any life. For what seemed like a lifetime, Angel was suspended in this empty hell, frightened and confused. But, eventually, fear overtook her, and she began to call out for Isaac, pleading for his help.

Angel: Issac! Isaac! ..where.. where are you? I.. need you, Isaac.. please help me..

Angel quickly tired out, and her head fell limp. The silence returned, but only for a moment. Seconds after she had stopped calling, a loud voice boomed a reply, shaking Angel to her core. It was not the comforting sound of her Isaac, but of a man Angel had hoped to never see again. Alan Gabriel.

Alan: Heh, it appears as though our treacherous little kitty is awake now.

Angel's heart began to beat furiously, and she found herself panting from fear. The numbness once felt throughout her body was fading fast, and she began to feel sensation in her hands and feet. Although still in total darkness, Angel soon realized that she had in reality been bound to something, with her arms spread open, and legs tied together. She struggled to break free, but the straps proved too strong, and she yelled out in desperation.

Angel: Damn you, Alan! Where are you!? What are you doing to me!?

Suddenly, without warning, two giant lights appeared on either side of Angel, and what she had been bound to began to shake violently. An unworldly, mechanical roar split the air, causing Angel to scream in horror. Then, as unexpectedly as it began, the rumbling and noise stopped, and the lights faded away. Beads of sweat rolled down Angel's forehead as she trembled in fear, realizing the truth of what she had been attached to this whole time.

Angel: ..a.. a.. megadeus.

Before Angel could even question what was happening to her, she heard the sound of footsteps infront of her. She stared out into the blackness, too scared to move. A faint light appeared, revealing a catwalk several feet infront of her. A silhouette stepped out from the dark and walked over to the railing. Angel had expected to see Gabriel, but who she saw was far more frightening than him. A young, white haired man leaned over the bar and looked at Angel. The first agent of the Union, Kalisto Kahali.

Kalisto: You look scared, Angel. Are you afraid of me? I'm not going to hurt you. I'm going to help you serve your purpose. I'm going to help you find your place in this world. I'm going to make you whole again. You'd like that, wouldn't you? A new body, this body. A Chariot of God.

Kalisto reached out to Angel, a smile on his face.

R-D: ::slightly loses grip of gun:: how... how can just a megadues do this? What makes you think a megadues can---
Rosewater(interrupting): I know many things about them... most than even your dear Frugal did... There are many factors in what determins who is owrthy to weild the power of god... but find and place the certain keys in the right slot... and the door to new shall open for you...

Smith(very calmly): please... calm down...*then touches fina on the sholder*
Fina(suddenly moving her head up very fast... ALMOST spooking smith: ge-... get ..away... soul eater... father? where is father? Were is Michel?

“S...Soul…Eater?” Dr. Smith asked himself. “Don’t call me that!” Fina continued to stumble away from him, she pointed at him as though he were some possessed monster. “Where is Father? Where is Michael?” Smith tried to reach out to her. “Don’t touch me, Soul Eater!” she jerked away. “Don’t call me that!” Smith almost shouted, “I’m not a Soul Eater!” “You killed them,” Fina began to sob. Mechanical liquid came from her eyes, “You killed all of them! You killed Father, and Michael, and all of the people before that!” “No…” Smith murmured to her as much as to himself, “I didn’t kill them. I didn’t want to…but I couldn’t stop the man who did…” He reached out to Fina, “Please forgive me. Please let me explain.” “Stay away from me!” she shrieked, slapping his hand away with her tremendous android strength.

Smith jerked back a little. Fina took the opportunity to begin to run away. “Wait! Stop!” shouted Smith. “You don’t understand!” “I understand you, Soul Eater!” Fina shrieked back. “I understand that you killed all of those people, you and that evil monster Megadeus. You killed those people for no reason!” “No, I didn’t,” Smith protested. “That wasn’t me. That was another person from a time long ago. Please, if you’ll let me just explain everything to you…” “Stay away from me, Soul Eater! I don’t want to hear anything from you! I don’t want to hear your evil, twisted lies! I don’t want to hear anything about that abomination called a Megadeus!” Fina began to run away again.

“Wait! Stop!” Smith shouted once more. But Fina refused to listen to him this time. It was unfortunate for her that she chose to, because right in front of her was a man that she hadn’t noticed earlier. The man raised a gun and shot her in the leg, Fina fell face down into the ground. “Shouldn’t you get back to Big Omega, Megiddo?” asked Dr. Atkinson. “You? Why did you shoot her?” shouted Dr. Smith. “You really should learn to keep that side of you in check, Meggido,” said Dr. Franklin from behind Dr. Smith. “Yes, this is proving to be quite an annoyance to Mr. Rosewater’s and our plans,” said Dr. Jones from the side. “You, all of you… Why are you doing this? Don’t you realize the truth?” reasoned Dr. Smith. “Of course we don’t realize the truth, something such as Big Omega goes beyond comprehension, beyond truth,” answered Atkinson. “That is right, we understand that this Megadeus has lived for centuries, and throughout those centuries it was trying to be fully reborn…” continued Jones. “And it had never managed to come nearer to that goal then it has now, thanks to the genius of Mr. Rosewater!” Franklin persisted. “But you have gotten in our way, whoever you are from Meggido’s memories, it is time for you to give up and return Meggido!” all three scientists said together.

Atkinson pointed the pistol down at Fina’s head, “this android will go now, such an unneeded relic.” Dr. Smith’s hand moved as fast as lightning… “People like you are the reason I created them in the first place! I have gained a soul, a conscience since then. But I still despise people like you! It’s time for you to face judgment!” A sword with a black blade and a white hilt sailed from Smith’s hand and impaled Dr. Atkinson right through his heart. Atkinson looked at the wound for a moment, dread comprehension spread on his face. A crimson flood unleashed itself from his mouth and Atkinson fell to his death, burbling incoherently. All of this took place in the space of a few mere seconds. Jones and Franklin quickly tried to level their pistols. Smith swept his right arm backwards and a sword with a white blade and black hilt scored through the head of Franklin. Jones quickly calculated his chances for survival, he ran. But before the old man could move more than three mere meters he too was struck down. Big Omega’s eyes faded from their glow of dark red, Jones and the area around him was nothing more than a burnt crater. “Thank you, Dorothy.” It was no trouble. It was more efficient to command the Megadeus to destroy him than to have you chase him. Dr. Smith nodded and walked over to Fina. He carefully picked her up. “Will you trust me now that I’ve saved your life?”

Kalisto held Angel’s chin between his thumb and index finger. He softly rubbed at her. “I found it absolutely hilarious when they told me about this. Who would have suspected that what we had been searching for so long was right under our noses the entire time.” “Just what the hell are you going to do with me?” screamed Angel. “Now, now.” Chided Alan Gabriel, “Don’t forget, you might be treacherous little kitty but you should still act like a lady.” “Go to Hell!” Angel shouted back at him. Alan just laughed as he strutted around the catwalk. “Mr. Gabriel is right,” said Kalisto, “You should still act like a lady.” Angel narrowed her eyes at Kalisto as undying hatred filled her soul. “Now, is there anything that you would like to ask for?” Kalisto asked. “I am a gentleman after all, I should try to make this as comfortable for you as possible.” “Let me go!” Angel requested. “Sorry, but you are an integral part to all of this, I cannot oblige that request. But if you had asked for some food or maybe a question or two I could oblige that…”

Angel’s mind searched for a way out of this situation. But she couldn’t come up with anything. Kalsito’s feigned gentlemanliness only made things worse for her. She knew that Alan was deriving more of his perverse pleasure from this and Kalisto was probably gaining a sick enjoyment as well. Kalisto let go of Angel’s face, “You certainly are a feisty one, Ms. Angel. Let me know when you have another request to make.” Kalisto began to walk away. One thought settled in Angel’s mind, Isaac. She couldn’t remember what had happened to get her into this situation, but if Isaac were still alive then he would come for her…eventually. “Wait!” shouted Angel. “Hmm? Have you thought of a request already?” asked Kalisto, halting his stride. “What did you do to Isaac?” Kalisto merely smiled in a sick sort of sweet way and gestured to Alan. Angel’s eyes followed Kalisto’s arms to the cyborg. Alan triumphantly pulled out a mangled arm. It was Isaac’s. Angel felt a sick feeling hit her stomach. She began to cry in despair and sadness. Kalisto and Alan both began to laugh.

RD dropped the pistol to the ground. “Nightingales? The power of God?” “What’s left of it,” continued Rosewater. “Poor Meggido, what an unfortunate man. In his time he had everything, then nothing, then everything again, and once more to nothing. Of course that time is far past now, over three thousand years! But he is lucky, we has seen the beginning, and soon he will see the end of all of it.” “What are you talking about, you are making no sense.” “Of course, this is something that makes little sense whatsoever. It transcends all boundaries of everything that we thought we knew! Thousands of Megadeuses…a world bathed in fires so strong that they rendered the land uninhabitable for nearly a hundred years. An existence cursed in an ever-repeating time loop! Everything that we thought we knew was wrong!” “You still fail to explain the situation.” “My dear android, this is something that goes beyond your comprehension. Amazingly one would have to be human in order to understand all of the nuances and changes. It is something so illogical that only a race of beings that are completely illogical could understand it!” “You are insane.” “Oh no…I am not insane, I am far more sane than anyone else alive! The Nightingales are the keys to unlocking the awesome might of the power of God! Their emotions will bring this all to fruition!” Rosewater spread his arms out widely and began to laugh insanely…

The sound of the wind echoed through the streets, as a gentle breeze flirted with the branches of the trees, dropping colorful leaves to the ground. The crisp Autumn winds slowly began to subside, as Norman struggled through the rubble left in the wake of Big O's fight with Fau and Duo. Though the mad Doctor Caelum had been vanquished, was the price too high?

What did the doctor know that drove him mad? That drove him to strive to lose touch with his human self? Could he have been right, could it be true that Humanity must depend on its rational thoughts, discarding all emotion, in order to reach Perfection?

But...is that even an ideal worth fighting for? After all, it led Doctor Caelum mad...and then to his death. But he wasn't the only one who died.

There were all those who were wronged during his ascent to power. Countless faces...seemingly with little or no meaning, empty lives, forgotton lives, buried deep within the ashes of memories...

Then there were those who had a defined face...those who mattered. Those who had stories behind them, real people, people who mattered...

Everyone has that one person, lying at the very depths of the Human heart. Tucked away safely, contributing to the beat of the heart, contributing to the soul of the man...

Remove that person, and you feel empty. Your heart no longer beats as furiously as it once did, you no longer hold that drive, that ambition, to live...

Or, if you do, it is no longer as strong as it once was.

Norman tried, he tried very hard, to fill that void. Even as the sorrow threatened to overwhelm him, a burden which he knew nothing about, let alone why he was forced to shoulder it, Norman continued to go about as if nothing was wrong.

Slowly, but surely, Roger Smith began working his way into Norman's heart...a son he never had. Someone to look after, to care for, to protect, to cherish.

But it was just a momentary solution, it wasn't a perfect plug...Norman still felt leaks of depression, and it threatened to consume him from within.

And when faced with the truth, the dam crumbled, the floodgates opened, and the depression returned seventy-fold.

Could it be possible that the same had happened to Caelum? Is that why he saw fit to discard his emotions, is that why he strived to reach a higher state of being, to leave the sadness behind him? To fill a void in his own heart?

Suddenly, without warning, the wind started again...and it wrapped around Norman, embracing him. As it drifted away, Norman felt the need to follow it...to follow the beckoning wind, regardless of where it led him. He followed the flight of the leaves, carried in the arms of the Autumn wind. Seconds...minutes...hours...days...time didn't matter to Norman.

He would not allow himself to fall prey to his sadness, regardless of what happened in the past. After all, what was done is done...the people of Paradigm were truly fortunate that these memories are nothing but forgotton relics of a distant era...an era that doesn't matter anymore.

The wind stopped, and Norman looked up. Standing in front of him, in all its majesty, was the place he once called home. The place he still calls home.

With a trembling hand, Norman reached out and touched the door, just to be sure that it was still there. It was.

Norman's heart skipped a beat, as he closed his eyes and sighed. Composing himself, he made a fist and knocked on the door.

Once, twice, a third time...

The door to the mansion slowly creaked open...

:: They searched the house. Reluctantly, they had to separate at one point. Dorothy descended a dark stair case and wandered hallways. It was about eleven at night, she was wandering a huge house without shoes looking for an android that she probably wasn't going to find. She was cold, hungry, and tired. Perhaps she should quit now and get a bowl of soup before bed? ::

:: No no NO! Dorothy wouldn't allow herself that until Isaac was found by either her, Roger, or any of the other unknown number of people in the house. She opened a door, walked in, and shut the door. Seeing that the place was now black, Dorothy activated the light on her headband. ::

:: Seeing that she had wandered into a broom closet, she sighed and leaned against the door. There was a mop in the corner, an apron, a bucket, and, this one got her, a broom with one of Rogers shirts hanging on it and some sunglasses stuck in it. ::

:: Deciding not to question it, Dorothy opened the door behind her and stumbled out. As she closed the door to the closet, she decided to herself that if Roger ever found those things, she knew nothing about it. Dorothy straightened her dress and walked back. Isaac wasn't here...unless he had put those things on the broom...well...Dorothy really didn't want to think about that. ::

:: Dorothy squinted as light cracked under a door. Sighing, Dorothy opened it. OK...she had successfully found her way back to the main room. Roger wasn't there. ::

:: Dorothy sighed. Isaac was hiding and Angel was...where was Angel? Dorothy thought hard, eventually shrugging it off as she was probably asleep at that hour. ::

:: Dorothy walked over to the stove, ran some cold water in a pan, and put it on the stove. By the time Roger found Isaac or gave up, dinner would be ready. ::

:: She was somewhat dissappointed. She really did want those explanations. Angel probably wouldn't mind hearing them either. However, Dorothy knew that her bedroom door was closed. She had passed it when she first got home with Roger, so Angel was asleep in Dorothy's room. ::

:: Dorothy put on her white apron that was hanging up and tied it behind her. A shout of "Isaac!" echoed somewhere to her right. Dorothy yawned. She opened up the cabinet and pulled out a bag of rigatoni noodles. Then, opening the refrigerator, she found a bag of parmesan. She dropped it on the counter. She was just about to open it when there came a loud knock. Dorothy picked up the cheese again. Then, hearing the knock, she dropped it and hurried to the door. ::

:: The doorknob was cold on the inside, so it must have been even colder outside. Dorothy slowly opened the door. Then, when it was a few inches open, she poked her head out. ::

:: There stood Norman. He looked down at her head. He was smiling a little bit. He had only been gone one night, but he looked a little ill. ::

"Norman!!!" Dorothy yelled excitedly.

:: She threw her arms around his neck and hugged onto him. She felt his shaky arm on her back. He was trying to say something, but was laughing to hard at Dorothy's reaction. ::

:: Dorothy grabbed his wrist and drug Norman inside. He almost fell over. ::

"Roger! Norman came back! Get in here!" She yelled.

:: At that moment, Roger slid into the room from the hallway behind them, fixing his hair and his tie. ::

:: At that moment, Dorothy remembered the macaroni and cheese she had been making and had to leave Roger and Norman alone. ::

:: As she left, she couldn't help but remember the camera and the tape tucked away in her pocket. ::

Hey RPers,
Just thought to let you guys know that I'm taking this out of the important threads. It seems like that no one has been able to move the story along, so I'm taking it down.

If you guys want this back up, PM me. If I get enough PMs I'll consider putting this back up.

:: Roger and Norman talked into the late hours of the night. Dorothy, after about two drinks, she was getting tired. Norman had left the room for something or other around midnight. Dorothy was standing in front of the window, and Roger was on the couch. Fifteen minutes later, Dorothy sat at the piano, repeatedly banging her head against the keyboard, while Roger and Norman talked over a hand of cards. Another fifteen minutes and four more shots later, Dorothy lay on the couch, trying not to fall asleep on Roger's shoulder, who was just sitting around catching up with Norman. Ten minutes and four more shots later, Dorothy was on a lawn chair on the balcony. ::

:: She felt a little neglected, tired, and her head hurt. She felt worse than usual. ::

:: Whatever she had been drinking was only safe for humans. She could feel it in herself. She was going to die. ::

:: She threw her arm across her forehead. She was panting. Se wasn't going to make it unless she had help now. ::

"Roger!" Dorothy tried to yell.

:: But it only came out as a horse whisper. ::

"Norman! Roger!"

:: Dorothy started crying and she slipped off the bench. Why hadn't she been more careful? Why didn't she look at the label on that bottle. She could hear someone slide the glass door open inside the mansion. Roger and Norman came out laughing cheerfully. ::

"Roger!"

:: Her horse whipser gained some of his attention. Then, she started coughing. Dorothy clutched her chest...she coughed again...she still couldn't breath. Roger was on his knees beside her, holding her, telling Norman to do something. Dororthy closed her eyes. ::

"Roger...it's to late."

:: Dorothy cling to him...then, her grasp weakened... ::
