I heard alot about this "evangelion". So I got a hold of all the episodes and the movie. And watched the whole thing non-stop in one weekend.
No one told me anything about it at all so everything was brand new to me.
It struck the same cord that big o does.
I loved it. But at least when you thought about it for awhile it starts to make some sense.

Eva's one of my all-time favorite animes. I can't wait for the "Director's Cut" DVDs that are coming out soon.

I too am a big Eva fan, especially the incredibly gory End of Eva movie.

My bf made me sit through the entire series in two sittings: watched it til bed, got up and finished watching it... Needless to say my head was about to explode. O_o But it was good stuff. I really just think you have to be in the mood to watch that. A lot of stuff you have to think about and pay attention, or else you miss the points.

I think understanding Evangelion is almost impossible without having some degrees in psychology. Fortunately, we have the internet and thousands of fansites that shed light on the series.

To fully understand eva you need: biblical knowledge, psychological knowledge, and survive the whining of shinji.
I own the perfect dvd box set and the final two movie dvds. Death and Rebirth are my favorite part of the whole series.

Eva was crazy, it had the same lots of stuff going on at once and getting wierd towards the end factor. Not to mention the mechs were sweet.
But also very gory in somplaces. Especially the movie.
A very emotional show too.

Except for the last criteria, the only thing needed is the ability to cut through all the BS that this series puts up as an intricate web (when it's just there to look cool) & understand the director was pretty depressed when he directed the show.
That said, this show is easily one of the most overrated anime series ever. That doesn't make it bad, but creates the front that it's more then a depressed man/boy getting over himself.

Shinji is the one who is seen nude through out the series.
We see Asuka naked a few times, and Rei has her moments XD
Getting back on topic..
Yeah, I like EVA
I got the whole series and the two movies for Xmas
EoE was great @@
I don't really like gore, but I LOVED Unit 02's ass kicking the Mass Produced Evas.
The movie was near perfect except for...

The 'Shini Whacking Off' scene...

I picked up the Resurrection DVD Tuesday and the added scenes are really good. Espcially
(episode 23)
spoiler (highlight to read):
The extended fight with the 16th Angel. When Rei began merging with it and then assimaliting with unit 01. And then when she engages the auto destruct, and Unit 00 morphs into Rei and lets out an errie scream. It made a greater (PUN ALERT!!) impact.
Though I was a little put off that some of the character's dub voices were different. Gendo's especially. It really throws everything off considering the movie has most of the same VAs and the minor characters that didn't return at least had similar voices. But I hear MacAvery had some beef with ADV. Its like ADV didn't even try to find similar VAs.

I did like it, although it doesn't have much replay value for me, but I have to say from looking on the web that it is the most over-analyzed anime ever. There are pages upon pages going in depth about so many things that don't need anywhere near so much examination.
