Regarding your view on anime, I know what you mean, I hate seeing the infamous cat face in anime when I first start watching it. The face is often done for comedic purposes but I still HATE it, but there are various animes that don't do the things that you don't like. Anime is similiar to a car or a house in that respect, you can almost find any type of anime for any request. If you like people to act normal in the cartoons, but you like vampires and stuff like that, I would recommend Blood: The Last Vampire (unfortunately there is currently one episode). If you like fights with superhuman people trying to save the world from one being then I would recommend the movie Spriggan. Worst come to worst just ask people on here for recommendations, don't turn away from anime because you don't like the mainstream ones that are everywhere like Pokemon, or things like that. I can't think of another anime about pilots, in regular plans like in WWII, that aren't drop dead gorgeous there breast aren't DD's they look like everyday people, but from what I saw it looked pretty good.

Another thing GK now that isn't nice, we have a border line anime fan right here, that like you said just need to be pointed into the right direction as to which titles actually appeal to him. I am sure that if he found some titles he likes then he will be a fan, it's just to much anime of kiddy shows on, all we adults really have is adult swim or animidnight on Action, and Anime Unleashed late at night. You and I both know there is WAY TO MUCH anime to try and fit into the limited channels.
