Why I would pick Dorothy over Angel?

That's a bad idea. I might get a rape charge slapped on me, and Roger would be scarred for life.

I want to get together with Dorothy and make Zippos.

You know, the lighter.

I swear, that sounded funny in my head.

I'm 6'1" with big boobs. What's wrong with tall, big-breasted women?!

Nothing at all. Want to elope?

Heh, j/k obviously. Personal preference Baroness, personal preference.

Angel scares me too. Especially after I realized that she looks kinda like Vera. Tongue

But they're both purty (Dorothy and Angel that is).

Aw, thanks for that clearification. I thought you meant Vera and boobs were purdy.

lol j/k

I'll be happy if you let me borrow her for a game of Mancala every now and then.

Well certainly. To me, Dorothy is a lady like you. If she wants to go, I wouldn't stand in her way. A person who is truly an individual has the right to choose their own way.

I wouldn't treat Dorothy as an indentured servent or a sex slave. She would be my equal, in every respect. Then again, Dominatrix Dorothy doesn't sound half bad...

** Gets hit by a thrown boot. **

Never mind. Smile

However, Angel is not a bad person herself. I think most of us would feel lucky to be in the presence of such a woman. However, she doesn't rank higher than Dorothy. It's a quirky preference of mine, nothing more. Smile

This thread has gone absolutely insane. I need a beer to get my head back to normal.

Hmm...

Wow. This thread is getting interesting. Magnifying Tony's second sentence gives me special insight...and a phrase I would happily second.

Mancala's all you'd want Dorothy for, Dork? Hmm.

In my dreams, Kagome is my girlfriend. Then I remember that my real girlfriend isn't an anime character. Which is disappointing, to say the least.

I think I'm in trouble...

Flattery will get you nowhere, buster. But, thank you anyway. I do appreciate your candor. Smile

But everyone forgets, just as anyone thinks they have an edge, I swoop in, and take Dorothy off her feet.

I do need a first mate, and Dorothy would look cute in a sailor suit. ^o^

smacks self in face

Damn, this thread has gone into the blue.

Can't I get that on video tape or DVD?

** Struck by a thrown boot. **

Okay, back on topic. I still think Dorothy has more "tenderness" and "compassion" to offer than Angel. Angel is the type of girl (from a season one perspective) to use and discard you at will. No attachments, nothing personal.

Dorothy seems to be very loyal. Despite her incredible strength, speed and other abilities, she wouldn't misuse them (unless, she is under the control of a curly haired bafoon in gaudy clothing). Also, judging by her tolerence of Roger's insensitivity (mostly from Season 1), I'd say that she's the type that is an optimist (or a masochist). Who else can be told, "You're only mimicking us..." and "An android talking aboiut affection..."?

Hey, give the louse some credit. He knew he'd gone over the line with that last comment and apologized. When did you ever, ever hear Dorothy apologize? (Not that she has much to apologize for, I admit.)

Why would Dorothy ever have to apologize? She hasn't ever said anything that was untrue and all her witty comments are retorts of Roger's scorn. Also, there was only one situation where she had reason to apologize for her actions, but I doubt there is a person here who can throw stones at her for almost squeezing Roger to death, since it was completely out of her control (Beck is Back). I'm sure she apologized off screen. Smile
C.R Foxhound 04-15-2004 03:45 PM
You think Dorothy has Roger in check, i think she does

Dorothy:You wanna fool around with big boobed blondes? hell no sucka, Dorothy dont play that sh**

But anyway...

I dunno, i kinda feel sorry for Angel, especially after Vera gave her a vicious smackdown, isnt that child abuse?

How about Pero? She brought him home, failed to keep him from making a mess of Roger's desk, insisted that Roger negotiate for her keeping custody, and (as far as I know) never acknowledged the lengths he was prepared to go to indulge her whim in this.

Good point. I believe that her "child-like" impulses kept her from reasoning. For instance, she was humming a tune from her memories of her human self. It was totally subconscious.

So, what does this have to do with Pygmalion statement? Simply, it means that Dorothy was momentarily overwhelmed by human impulses. I'm not sure if Dorothy did apologize for Pero's inadvertant dearranging of Roger's desk. I would like to this so, but who knows. I guess the writers left it to the viewer. The same goes for her "never" acknowledgement of Roger's generousity.

Mind you, my statment is based on conjecture and observation from other episodes where Dorothy would thank someone (Niorman, Laura [for tea], ...) for one thing or another.

To me, Dorothy can do no wrong. Wink
BabyGhia 04-16-2004 12:43 AM
Being a girl and really wanting Roger, I really don't have an option. But if either one of them were going to be my friend... Of course, I'd rather have Dorothy as a friend than Angel.

BabyGhia

PS. I know, I'm late in the game again. Oh well. Better late than never.

I personally would go with Angel. For a person with my personality, I would have alot more respect, admiration and friendship for R. Dorothy than romantic love. Angel might piss me off ocassionally, but I'd love her despite it.
